I don't think it's the one hour a week; it's the stress of trying to line up three busy schedules for said one hour per week, week after week. In the earlier days they used to record several in a day; I get the sense that stopped being possible. I really don't understand your other comment. Maybe we're listening to different shows?

I've heard her on podcasts before - I think WTF? - and that's just how she is. Very sweet, kinda normal, almost a little shy.

Jesus, I totally forgot who Rich Sommer was (although I understood he was not on Frasier).

it is hilarious to me that adam scott asked scott aukerman to sell his tickets for him. -

Kyle Dunnigan, dammit!

Tig seemed a lot happier and more willing to play along in this ep than her live appearance. It's as if she's WALKING ON AIR!
-
Totally agree with this, was thinking the same thing.
-
I think Tig has had an insane few years of hard work, tragedy, freakin' CANCER followed by more work than ever (?) with regular trips to the hospital. She has almost died twice but survived, her career has taken off, and she's about to get married. All this over the course of what, 2 or 3 years? That's insane! I don't blame her one bit for *possibly* feeling less engaged with the podcast. ....but I don't really think that showed this week. It certainly showed when she was on the phone explicitly talking about it, but I think some burn out is warranted when you just got out of the hospital AGAIN during a tour. Anyway. This episode was a lot of fun. I'm glad they're still doing it.

it's totally a bit.

Good to hear everyone together in the same room again! Sounds like they had to hustle to get this one done and I appreciate the work. I'm halfway through and am fascinated by the strange but endearing Sarah Ruth.

There seems to be a lot of debate on all the Earwolf forums I check out about whether or not negative comments are worthwhile. I'm not sure where I fall on that debate because it's fun to discuss stuff with like-minded people and if everyone was 100% positive all the time there would be less to talk about. On the other hand since this is the official site it almost feels rude to me to say something totally negative when I know the people involved may read it and get annoyed that I'm shitting on a free podcast. I think overall it's best to be reasonable and polite when criticizing the creative work people do for our enjoyment. I can understand people not liking this episode - I think it's one of the slightly weaker eps after a run of some truly C+ episodes - but a post like "[Guest], you suck" is a total waste of everyone's time.

I think you might be right. I enjoyed this episode, Paul's character being boring as hell was funny to me by the end. And I always enjoy Jimmy Pardo on CBB. Not sure why people think he doesn't "fit," he's been a regular guest since the early days and he and Scott have a great dynamic. I guess his on-mic persona is more polished and professional than Scott's, but that doesn't make him any less funny.
-
I for one am SHOCKED that Horatio's character sensationalized several hollywood murders, which are typically approached with quiet reverence
-
All joking a salad, the great thing about CBB is that you don't have to catch every episode to enjoy it. Lots of stuff gets called back but it all gets cycled through and refreshed. Pick one with a guest you like and go from there!

I fucking love Horatio and lest anyone accuse me of loving everything on CBB, there was a guest on this episode that I did not like. Horatiowns.

Thanks To Five Unelected Activist Judges, My Favorite Harris Wittels Joke Is No Longer Funny
djsexyrandal posted a topic in Comedy Bang Bang
For years, my favorite Foam Corner joke was "I've decided I'm not getting married until gay people can get married, because I'm gay." Thanks to the Supreme Court, under the dictatorship of Barak Hussein Obamacare, this joke is not funny anymore. This country is on the wrong track. But seriously, big ups to people of all stars and stripes. -
I was certain it was him but I also enjoy knowing when the spot lt aired and other things about it.

I loved how it built over the episode; the first couple times PFT indicated that Scott was off his game his mistakes seemed kind of minor but as he and Zouks got into Scott's head he was reduced to a stuttering mess by the end of the episode. The funny thing is, Scott did seem slightly off his game at times (at least early on, he might have been playing it up later) but instead of it making for just a C ep, the guests spun it into gold, putting Hey Nyong Man squarely in C+ territory.

Plugs Themes bandcamp page for ALL used plugs themes!
djsexyrandal replied to allenpwilliams's topic in Comedy Bang Bang
When you get to my plugs theme, of which Ben E Shawz said, and I quote, "I, in real life, like this" and compared favorably to Miguel, you are welcome to post it to the bandcamp page. (Mostly just wanted to brag) -
absolutely loved all of this, but especially PFT and Zouks ganging up on Scott

Very few of Adomian's impressions are mean spirited. Perhaps the closest he comes to really being hateful is Tom Lyekis, but that dude is pretty hateful himself. He's said publicly that he really likes Jesse Ventura and Huell Howser, and from reading his twitter I'd say he probably aligns fairly closely politically with Sanders. My takeaway from his Sanders impression was that he was challenging himself to do an impression of someone without an obvious hook. I mean, Adomian's impressions are all pretty fantastic, but there's a lot to work with when you're doing someone like Ventura, Howser, etc ... Sanders, not so much. And yet, he found some beats that I thought were very funny. I didn't have to pull my car over in a fit of laughter like I did when I first heard him do Huell Howser, but I still enjoyed it. I also think Adomian is amazing in general. His standup is fantastic, he is an incredibly dynamic comedic performer, and i can't think of a better impressionist out there. I also came here to post about Swardson's reaction to the native american joke. I think it absolutely had to do with the bad press surrounding his film. I kinda hoped that Scott was going to prod him a little more and wring some awkward comedy out of it, but maybe that would have been too mean spirited.

of course, the definitive Smooth Criminal is Alien Ant Farm's

king kunta is great, but michael jackson's estate literally owns the rights to saying Annie are you OK? in a song, so much so that Michael Jackson is credited in the liner notes

How come Kyle Dunnigan isn't on CBB more?
djsexyrandal replied to Thedge's topic in Comedy Bang Bang
Agreed. I'd love for him to be on the show more, he's hilarious.
