whoah,
totally serious episode!
-
B-b-b-b-bonus!! Can't wait to hear this, the last one with maron was awesome. How does scott have time for b-b-b-b-bonus episodes while he's filming the tv show??
-
Kristen Schaal's mom's message was pretty hilarious - I felt embarrassed for her! It reminds me of Woody Allen's parents in that documentary about him where they're talking about how he should have been a doctor
-
All I have to say is: wow, what an amzing episode. You can't pay $12 to get entertained like that at a movie theatre, so good
-
Ack, I can't download the episode via the iTunes - is it just me, but for me it's not working? Anyone else having this issue?
-
YAAY! I haven't listened to this yet, and haven't finished last episode yet, but I always LOVE it when I wake up Thursday morning and there's a B-B-B-BONUS EPISODE waiting for me to enjoy!! And even though it's silly and everyone else does it too, I almost equally love saying (and writing) b-b-b-b-bonus!!! And I love Jen Kirkman, so it's goona be a good one!
-
I haven't had time to hear the full episode yet, had to stop when the 2nd guest came on, but Scott and Jerrod and *hilarious* together - I love characters etc, but it's rare and awesome when you have a guest who can just talk about nothing with scott for ever and have it be endlessly entertaining! Good chemistry between the two, Scott is just going off into outer space, pretty funny stuff. Not familliar with Carmichael, but will check him out after this.

Dude, Jon Hamm and Nick Kroll are always awesome together - when I introduce people to the show I often tell them to first listen to all the episodes with them. This episode had no direction, no premise and no particular content and it was still hilarious and fun the whole time. Can't wait for more Kroll Show and Mad Men! They should do a crossover episode

Please tell me you got an NSF grant to do this for your PhD thesis! I won't believe a word until I see all the data, the charts the numbers!! Good work btw!

CBB (and all Earwolf?) VIDEO PODCASTS!! (this is actual news, not a suggestion!)
johnnyhaggis posted a topic in Comedy Bang Bang
Suprised there's no thread for this yet! (or did I miss it?) Comedy Bang Bang (and other Earwolf podcasts!) video version of the podcast! No details yet - if it is just the podcast with a camera in the room I suspect I'll like the audio/imaginary experience better (I actually picture Andrew Lloyd Weber and Christopher Hitchens' ghost being in the room), but I'll definitely want to check out the videos every week to see what my favourite people look like and to see what actually goes on in that room! Cant figure out how to embed video, but here's a preview with Scott! -
d'oh

Haha, everyone flees the thread in terror when they find out an IP lawyer is here!

Speaking of Burning Love, I'd never seen it until after hearing this cbb episode - fun stuff, love seeing all these great comedians. Cbb is the gateway drug to every awesome comedian and comedy show ! I love Natasha Leggero btw, she's hilarious. All the funny things she said when talking to scott were straight out ofher comedy act though - but flawlessly integrated I like these live episodes. Adomian is out of control Just bought his CD from the earwolf store, havent heard it yet...
-
Cause people go to see the guests, even if they have no idea what cbb is. IfI'd never heard of it, I'd definitely be going to see a show w tim and eric, sarah silverman, michael sera and reggie watts (though I discovered reggie via cbb) Most of us probably discovered cbb by accident while searching for a particular comedian - I was looking to see if Zack Galifianakis had done anything recently, and for more nick kroll and they both led me to CBB hey btw, for fans of sarah silverman and nick kroll, check out "In Bed With Joan" a video interview podcast where joan rivers interviews comedians in her bed. Two episodes so far, and really good, Rivers is pretty damned funny.

He's also totally genuine (and serious!) on Marc Maron's show a couple of months ago, I was really surprised. If you're a fan, it's really worth checking out. Ching Chong Matinee killed me - I'm actually fairly gullible (I *want* to believe things even if I sort of know it can't be true) and I thought maybe he was being serious about being in a woody allen movie... but the title settled that!
-
Haha, I can see why some might not like Heidecker, but to me he's brilliant, one of the best. Maybe sometimes he schtick doesn't hit the mark, but that's improv... Wareheim is underrated too, he's really funny on this episode. btw, I haven't seen the video version yet, but when I heard the audio, I thought I heard brett gelman for a little - was here there, or was that Eric Wareheim impersonating him or something?
-
d'oh - that makes more sense, thanks. they're both film fests, so I get them mixed up - plus I listened to 206 episodes of CBB in a three or four month period, so it's all a blur...
-
YES! This was an awesome episode! I havent got to see much Eric Wareheim since Tim an Eric, but he's fucking hilarious. And unlike the Peppermen, JASH.com is actually a real project! Question: is SXSW like five times a year or something? Wasn't CBB just as SXSW like a month ago with Li'l Gary and Paul Scheer? And then a couple of months before that? wtf?
-
thanks, not what I was hoping for, but still pretty awesome - it'll be archived I hope...
-
Hey - I think Scott mentioned on facebook or tweeter or something that we should "tune in tomorrow" as in today for something - was he talking about the TV show already???
-
Actually, reading your post makes me realize that I forgot he was sick after 5 minutes! He sounded sick at first, but a few minutes later he was on top of it. I'd love to see Scott do some characters on the show - there's one episode where he does "dismissive Jimmy Stewart" for like 15 seconds, but it's hilarious. I really like Eugene Mirman's voice btw. Not sure why, but always nice to hear him talk.

How would you get someone into the show?
johnnyhaggis replied to thadcar's topic in Comedy Bang Bang
Which one is pitch slapped? The one with James Adomian as the American Apparel guy might be good if she's into fashion - his lists of clothing items is worth it alone If she likes sarah silverman she might like the one where amy phillips imitates her, it's really great Those best of year retrospective and chrstmas episodes are always amazing - but I'd say go with all the episdoes that have Nick Kroll as Chupacabra - and the ones with Nick and Jon Hamm together were amazing - like episode 12 and 34. The one with James Adomian as that misogynist radio host #176 was killer Bill Cosby Bukowski is genius every time 71 Nick Kroll and Paul Scheer was fantastic I remember the one with Nick Lowe on it was great Tig Notaro is funny in a deadpan way on some episodes and that might be more relatable -
hahaha, for the first 45 seconds I actually believed Zach G and Jon Daly were starting a real podcast together and I was so HYPED ... a little disappointed that it's not true, but still a great episode BTW, Jon Daly's podcast is also hilarious, especially how he does commercials!

I've barely done any drugs in my life, and I avoided them because I felt like I would react badly, and also because the whole peer pressure environment seemed pretty idiotic when all my friends started smoking weed. As an adult my friends still tease me and try to get me to do this or that drug, or slip it in my drinks and bake into food without telling me ... And I was right, the one time I ate hash (it was on purpose, with a girl) I had amazing sex for a really long time until every time I looked at the girl from peripheral vision she looked like the wolfman, and then I ended had the worst bad trip for almost 48hrs. It makes a funny story, but It was awful. When I drink alcohol I get giggly for 15 minutes and then feel like I have poison on my blood and then sleep for 15 minutes and feel groggy for 15 minutes. I'm immune to MDMA, Not everyone is made for drugs!

Yeah, it was a just plain fun episode all around - that gives me an idea - imagine how weird it would be (pun intented) if weird al played a character! And Scott too! They should do an episode like that! I wonder what sort of character Weird Al could do? He could do Bob DYlan like in his song. Speaking of Scott doing characters, I didn't know he had any talent for characters, but he actually is really good - have you guys ever heard the episdoe where Scott does "dismissive Jimmy Stewart"?? It's fucking hilarious! Actually one of the funniest things I've heard on the show. I wish I could remember which episode it was cause I can't find it, but him doing a whole show or a segment like that would be hilarious.
