saddlebags replied to JulyDiaz's topic in improv4humans with Matt Besser
Go fuck yourself you stalker weirdo. Am I playing this game right? -
every year I look forward to this exchange: Scott: and if this is your first time listening to the show then... Paul: FUCK YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

shouldn't this be on wolfpop, or did that shutdown already

It amazes me how quick besser is with his scene direction. I mean, I know he's been doing this all his life and he's one of the founders of the UCB and modern improv but I guess what I'm trying to say is who runs bartertown MATTY B RUNS BARTER TOWN.

Wow this was fantastic. Honestly this entire episode could be posted as a best of. So many little hints of genius packed in evenly by all performers. Gabrus was on fire though. A subtle thing he did that really killed me was in the married couple scene (eug and steph were epic) he said eugene thought it was a weird masturbation thing, then they flash back and gabrus is the one that goes to that place, not eugene. Then they flash forward, and gabrus says he tried to talk eugene out of it. Just amazing that he can improv and setup jokes in a non-linear fashion. Reminds me of when Paul Rust did the revisionist history about tom petty's beard to retroactively make his non-non sequitur work. So many callbacks. Betsy whistling at the end of the job scene as gary the rapist was great. I love how it broke the entire room at once.

I'm only an hour in and amazing. Victor and Tiny's drawn out stories are always so amazing. I love Brendon Small.

Episode 163 — Eric the Paid Intern Returns: LIVE at the UCBSunset

Podcasts have the ability to have "chapers" though most podcast producers never use the advanced features. Download an EP of superego, not only do they chapter their podcast but they even have album art that changes for each scene. If you made each scene, or just case closed it's own chapter one skip would go past it. -

Dudes are scum. White people are garbage. Cody should be fired. Problem(s) solved. -

A Lauren Lapkus podcast?! Best. Day. Ever. Take that, Wolfpop. -
Bummed zooks and JDR weren't there. This movie was made for them to argue about.

No. No, those people deserve to be picked on.

My god. Best cold open ever. Bonus points for engineer CodyCody. When Bob starts explaining systems to Husky and Husky responds with a Ducca-esque "aah-huh"...brilliant.

The hiking safety instructor is Joe Wengert's best character yet.

You're a dummy. Now that's an example of something not rapey or homophobic.

Holy shit that open was amazing. I was wondering what the deal was with the master blaster clip and thought it was a youtube clip cold open then I died when Matt announced he ran barter town aka case closed

Episode 66 — Wolfpop Curator Paul Scheer & Podcast Developer Matt Gourley
saddlebags replied to JulyDiaz's topic in The Wolf Den
Just to be clear, I'm all for more earwolf shows, or earwolf media shows? What term do we use to cover all of it? (See this is the problem) Already listened to the first ep of I Was There Too and it's FANTASTIC. Got a bunch more loaded up. I'm just frustrated because there are ways to split/federate/idontknowanymore a network without splitting up forums and comments and user accounts etc and I want that for Earwolf. And keep the branding/sub-branding clear. I want them to dominate. -
I think that comes from his spending time in a forum where people might post things like that. I guess I shouldn't say that the bigger posters don't get the forum: they quickly catch on to what the thread is, but find it surprising and refreshing and usually make posts that reveal that the crazy freeforum nature is a for them.

Sooo excited for this. Zouk's episode last time was amazing. The off mic fighting noises that went on forever was epic.

Going to relisten today. So many quick Scott <--> Gino one liners I'm sure I missed some. A few weeks ago someone commented on the Besser episode about how the barely in character co-host really works on this show and they're right. I've loved the Wompler specials, but I kind of hope she goes back to being a co-host. That St. Clair/Besser/Gabrus/BennySchwaz co-host element really freaking works. Almost too well. I feel like we need to slow time to fit all the jokes in.

Mookie's story about losing his daughter killed me. I'm pretty sure mookie's character was based on Robert Patrick roles. I mean, it was a spot on Robert Patrick impersonation. Didn't he lose a daughter on the X-Files or Lost? Fantastic.

I feel like Molly's character from last week would have worked better with a co-host like gino/besser/houseofpiesstarbennyschwazz

you realize samberg was joking, right? he's been on the podcast before, and he got on snl for making lo-fi production shorts
