Episode 31 — The Professionals
GianniRed replied to admin's topic in The Fogelnest Files with Jake Fogelnest
I first heard about "Heavy Metal Parking Lot " a few years ago when I moved to DC and my musician friends described it in legendary terms. I did not get to see it until it popped onto YouTube a year or so ago and I was not disappointed in the slightest. So thank you for featuring it. Someday, when my grandkids ask me about the 80's, I'll sit them down in front of that film and be confident they'll have all the answers they'll need. Keep the great shows coming Jake, yours has definitely become one of my favorite podcasts, and is definitely the most consistently interesting and funny. -
Man I'd love to hear hear Jason's take on this flick. "Next level bonkers" indeed.

Just awesome to see a new episode of this. I hope TJ gets out of Raiford without any shiv wounds. It's been far too long since the last episode, hopefully folks schedules will calm down and we'll get to see more regular installments of these two.

Episode 28 — VHS Nostalgia
GianniRed replied to admin's topic in The Fogelnest Files with Jake Fogelnest
Wow Jake, What a great one-two punch over the past two episodes. First I'm laughing my ass off from last week's episode, especially your "Venom at the negotiating/buffet table" impressions, and then this episode reminds me of the incredibly visceral reactions those bumpers used to evoke. Though it wasn't featured here, the Nelvana bumper always got to me as a little kid, mostly because they produced my favorite cartoon "Dinosaucers", and seeing that meant that "Dinosaucers" was over. I'm definitely looking up Ascher's other stuff and yes please, get some more documentary makers on here. This was astoundingly interesting. -
Another great episode. Now that you all have nice fancy character sheets, what are the chances of posting them online? It'd be quite cool to see the character art and stats. I can never remember what Blackie Green's charisma is...

Just listened to the return of Don Dimelo on Episode 200 and had to go back to this ep. God this was a classic, the one that hooked me on CBB and the one I have other people listen to to get them hooked.

Oh man, good grab. Andy and Jason are two of my favorite guests, whether together or not. Cactus Tony was great, but I just about started cheering when Don DImelo showed up. Ep. 99, "Something for Daddy" was one of the first episodes of CBB I ever heard, and it was what got me hooked. Thanks Scott for bringing Jason and Andy back on together. They never get old.

Episode 21 — He's a Friend

Hey Jake, I haven't listened to the podcast yet, but i checked out the playlist. Thank you for exposing Carmina Burana Shower Guy to a wide audience. This has been a favorite of mine for years. The sheer joy he displays while shampooing, the look of ecstatic understanding upon taking a puff, his almost resigned shrug upon immediately losing his train of thought, and his gleeful return to his happy dance...it never fails to put a smile on my face. You're doing the world a service sir. -
Having sourced most of my Star Wars D6 RPG collection via Ebay, it's great to hear that Sark found a lot of his childhood RPG's there as well. Also, I was able to replace few treasured childhood LEGO sets there. God bless Ebay.

Episode 19 — Beyond the Valley of the Internet Trolls

Holy crap Jake, I've seen pictures of Chris-chan pop up online for years and every time I thought they were one-off examples on internet weirdness. After seeing and listening the clip on today's show, I immediately paused the podcast and went to his wiki and HOLY SHIT...I had to get out of there after 10 minutes for the sake of my afternoon's productivity. Just skimming the article on his Dad had me alternately cringing and busting out laughing. This is one of the weirdest things I've seen in a while. Thank you Jake. -
This is absolutely hilarious. Owen and TJ sound like my brother and I amped up to 11. And Rob Riggle is always great. Keep up the awesome work.

Episode 10 — Sprout of a New Generation
GianniRed replied to admin's topic in The Fogelnest Files with Jake Fogelnest
Another great episode Jake. I hope the Julie Brown episode you mentioned is coming soon. I'm assuming this is Julie Brown of "The Edge" and "Attack of the 5'2" Woman", not the Julie Brown of Downtown fame. If so, you gotta ask her why "The Edge" was never released on DVD. It was an absolute favorite of mine in middle school and it's imposible to find outside of a few clips on Youtube. -
This is one of my favorites for so many reasons. But it's the little touches that really do it for me. Foremost among them is the amount of saliva ejected from the Nightslasher's mouth every time he calls Stallone "Pig." That, and the fact the the Nightslasher cult doesn't discriminate. Check out the bald guy with the three piece suit at one of their axe-clanking sessions. It's glorious.

Episode 5 — Obscure MTV Moments
GianniRed replied to admin's topic in The Fogelnest Files with Jake Fogelnest
What a blast from the past. I had completely forgotten that Jake was the kid from Squirt TV. Julie Brown was hilarious. My family didn't get cable until 1994, but I have great middle-school memories of watching her in "The Edge" in '91-'92. She did a great bimbo, as seen in her Guns N Roses groupies bits she did with a pre-Friends Jennifer Aniston. Great show Jake. This has already joined Comedy Bang Bang and How DId This Get Made in my top 5 podcasts.
