  1. I don't listen to this podcast, but I read your post and wanted to acknowledge.

First off; be careful driving man.. two parents out of commission is no good.

Second; I know it is cliche and sounds apathetic but hang in there. Have you considered moving closer to your family support system (will obviously involve a job change)?

Hope all is well and turns for the better.

  2. I can't release the compiled data yet as the research is still on-going. Hopefully once all conclusions are realized the data can be released in an organized fashion!

The latest breakthrough: When guests NOT in character are competing against Characters, the NON character guest wins the game 72% of the time.

Chances FURTHER increase in the NON character's favor if the guest is visiting Comedy Bang Bang for the first time.

  3. Over the years I have dedicated many hours and resources into researching the Comedy Bang Bang segment: “Would You Rather?” This seemingly improvised game appears to be driven by host Sogg Hoggerman’s whims, but upon closer look you will find that this segment is LOADED with silent que’s, unmentioned procedures, and tactics that can be used to curry favor and increased point bonuses. I have compiled databases and spreadsheets with data(Contestants, each game’s point totals, data about what questions were asked by whom and when, etc.) from EVERY game of “Would You Rather?”. The following is a few bits of info that hours of research have produced.

    • The first person to ask a question after the floor OPENS for questions wins the game 68% of the time. Take note how Paul F. lunges out with a question as soon as the floor opens.

    • Asking the MOST questions increases your chances of both EARNING points and being DOCKED points. Laying low during questioning will increase your chances of staying even at zero.

    • Asking a question AFTER the floor closes for questions is a death knell resulting in a large docking of points. Guests who have asked questions AFTER the floor closes lose the game 92% of the time!

    • You can ASK for points! This tactic is little known amongst guests and seldom used, but simply asking for points can work in certain scenarios. I theorize that this tactic is most likely to work if you had remained silent during the “Would You Rather?” theme.

    • Believe it or not there is an Earwolf economy so to speak. For instance, there is an exchange rate between Comedy Bang Bang’s “points” and Who Charted?’s “Comedy Bucks”. None of this is explicitly mentioned to us the listeners’ but observant statisticians such as myself have noticed that Guests who have earned “Comedy Bucks” on Who Charted are docked less points for infractions during “Would You Rather?” Howard and Kulap have even cryptically hinted at this fact on a few episodes of "Who Charted?".

    • Speaking during the “Would You Rather?” theme is ill advised. Participants who speak during the theme are 6 times more likely to be arbitrarily docked more points than other guests during the game.

    • CakeBoss has the all-time record for NET points scored, but does NOT have the most wins.

    • Bill Cosby Bukowski has the highest winning percentage of all guests/contestants.

    • Pope Benedict XVI has the all-time record for points docked in a single show AND has had the most combined points docked of all guests.

    • Matt Besser (and characters) have the lowest winning percentage of any guest who has participated in the game more than 3 times.

    • Tim Heidecker is the only player EVER to forfeit the game and their answer and has done so TWICE!

If you pay attention you will notice that there are tons of verbal cues. Since VPN has been broadcasting shows I have even noticed visual cues that The Hogg gives as well.

    Good Luck!

  4. Hey Jeff,

    Two things:

    1. I have always wondered how the Legal Zoom deal works out. How can 100 percent of what is spent at Legal Zoom come back to Earwolf? I don't understand how that works on Legal Zoom's end. So any business they pull in that was directed from Earwolf is negated because they give the amount of what the customer pays back to you guys? That is incredibly generous of them, I just don't see how that works for them. If you can't answer this I understand! I have always wanted to inquire.

    2. To me it looks like the patent that Personal Audio is using can apply to the ENTIRE internet. Not just podcasting. The patent states: “system for disseminating media content representing episodes in a serialized sequence,” in my opinion this can apply to writings/literature, and especially videos (Youtube, Hulu, Netflix, HBO, Showtime, NBC, ABC and any cable network provider that posts videos of their shows online), etc.

Did I not read into the wording of the patent enough? Because to me it looks like they could view most of the internet as infringing on their patent. Why are they ONLY attacking podcasting? Is their logic to just stay away from the giants to avoid being squashed? Is there a scenario where a huge entity steps in preemptively to stamp this out before it comes their way?

Thankyou for all the hard work that goes into Earwolf!

  5. 1. Holy shit.

    2. Cyrus or Brett, someone please loop the 1 and 1/2 seconds of Howard laughing in the robot voice over anything.

    3. Rafflecast is the second only to Gelmania in crazy/amazing shit. Building the track is genius. I'm not kidding.

    4. This is my new favorite.

Seconding this sentiment. I am only just this past week or two getting into Rafflecast and I liken it to Gelmania. It is great that Earwolf is letting these two guys break format in a way (no structured show every Ep) and they just kind of let loose the insanity in their heads. Both of these shows have a different vibe to them (aside that they are a different type of podcast all together from the rest). I love it.

Daly and Gelman are nuts. They both seem crazy (Brian Huskey also sits in that category for me). I love their sick and out of left field humor. Rafflecast and Gelmania are the two funniest podcasts that I listen to.

  6. This movie used to play all the time on TV/HBO when I was growing up, I just can't seem to catch it now though.

I DID recently see a few short minutes of the moon fight scene and it is definitely up there in Rolling Stones top 100 worst fight scenes list.

I believe there was actually a foot stomp by one of them....a FOOT STOMP in a fight between comic book superhuman characters.. It blew my mind.

  7. Miller comes off as a huge baby in the aftermath of Robocop 2 and 3. He was WAY too hurt by all the changes to his script and was hurt and disillusioned(paraphrasing) resulting in him swearing off Hollywood work for 15 years or so.

How could he be unaware that script re-writing and doctoring is the norm for a movie. Too bad he didnt have a copy of Garant and Lennon's book.

  8. YES! Good god how did i not think of this. I have this on DVD. It is a watchable movie that is also horrible.

    The dialogue

The brain numbing lameness of C. Thomas Howell and Peter Horton's overacting in the "dramatic" volleyball scenes

Peter Horton jogging on the beach shirtless while sticking/puffing his chest out

The hilarious slow motion montage of celbratory "YEAH" 's at the end is almost like something out of a Tim and Eric sketch.

This is a fertile movie to make a "How did this get made" funnybaby. Consider it!

    Great suggestion Matt!

  9. We as the Earwolf podcast listener/fan community need to take action. Bear arms if you will to assist our beloved Howie in his battle against the affliction known simply as "The Clench©". Upon countless hours of research I have come to the conclusion that Mr. Kremer's clench is unknown amongst medical scholars which is quite troublesome.

This summer I will be embarking on a half mile run to raise awareness for Howard Kremer and "The Clench©" and I encourage you all to do the same. Do it because you love Earwolf, because you love Who Carted.. And most of all.. Do it for Howard.

I will attempt to document the training regimen that I will have to undergo in preparation for the run as this will be a test of both mind and body.

If any of you also choose to participate in your own Race for the Clench Cure be prepared for the possibility of a media circus that may occur due to the hype that will most likely surround the effort to raise awareness for this unknown plight. If you are interviewed or approached by any news or media outlet as you ramp up for your event, please adhere to the following procedures:

1: First and foremost refer to this illness as "The Clench". We need to give this monster an identity. We need to demonize this horrible disease to generate public support.

2: You will undoubtably be asked to describe "The Clench". As the Clench is SO RARE in humans we need to adhere to Mr. Kremer's description of this mystery of science. And adhere to it closely, so please relisten to the back catalog until you feel comfortable with Howards definition. It is widely suspected that this was contracted in utero and has kept Howard compromised his entire life (which is speculated to be 20 some odd years now.) Keep in mind Howards date of birth is unknown among us commoners outside of the Earwolf family, so we can only speculate how long the effects of The Clench can last.

3: Try to sneak in and use the word "Earwolf" as many times as possible. Your local newspaper or news channel will be essentially acting as a plug bag, reaching out to many thousands of people. Mr. Aukerman, you better nut up the bandwidth. Shits gon git REAL when Earwolf traffic goes through the roof. Ad money will be pouring into the Earwolf studio faster than you can say "why is all this ad money here in cash and not in a bank account?".

In summation: Lets find a cure.

Side note: Has Howard ever mentioned that he tried Rolfing? It is supposed to re set your muscular connective tissues and reset your posture. Sounds like the cure. Maybe I dont need to do the race?

  10. Johnny Meat of the famous Meat Brothers has recorded a 7+ minute masterpiece that he conceptualized for the plugs segment of Comedy Bang Bang. He is a huge fan of everything Earwolf. It is an improvisational piece that has several parts all recorded on his vintage Casiotone CT-310! It is his tribute and gift to the Earwolf regime.
