Episode 108 — I Do Muther-F-N-improv!
CPiz replied to JulyDiaz's topic in improv4humans with Matt Besser
Product idea: Not a pun at all, but something like Improv Imps, little figurines like Smurfs of Besser and the I4H regulars. They could also go with BobbleHeads, since a lot of us listen in our cars or at work. -
Episode 252 — The Creeeeeeepy Halloween Special

I loved this episode. Highlights? Dykeula, above all else. "Monster Fuck" and Steven Yeun are a close second! -
Before Pete was on CBB, I was worried that he would take over and not collaborate with the characters if he ever came on, but I don't think that was the case. Gabrus was hilarious, and I think his performance could have been derailed if Holmes was too "Holmesian." I think everyone played off each other quite well in this episode.

This used to be on late-night cable all the time. It starred Bronson Pinchot and Dan Schneider (Head of the Class; Ricky Smith in Better Off Dead) and Frank Gorshin?!?!!? It's one of those summer romp comedies. All I remember about it is that a cleaning lady foists sex upon Dan Schneider and a guy using the pickup line "Do you want to see my tape of monkeys fucking?"

Not a great movie, by all means. It's one of those comedy movies that gets serious. Blah. However all the Eugene Levy & Rick Moranis scenes are funny.

The first thing I thought of when I saw that this movie was posted was "Whores don't get a second chance!" Maybe they should just review that line!

Episode 7 — Zach Galifianakis
CPiz replied to admin's topic in By The Way, In Conversation with Jeff Garlin
Agreed! I think it just boils down to that I really respect Henry Rollins, and I like to hear him talk, but I guess if I want it completely uninterupted, there are dozens of spoken-word albums I can listen to. -
Episode 7 — Zach Galifianakis

Oh yeah, I totally understand that. It just still irks me at times. I have no problem with Jeff talking about himself, telling stories or jokes, and I usually enjoy it. It's just when a guest begins to get into what sounds to be a good anecdote, gets cut off, and then they either don't get back to it or lose their momentum, just takes away from it a little bit for me. -

I think it's possible to like some things about a guy, but also have a problem with other things. I think Jeff asks some great questions and I like how he explores some topics that the interviewees gloss over, but I hate how he steps on people's stories to get his bits out. It comes off as kind of disrespectful, even though I know he only has the utmost respect for these people. I listen to CBB, HDTGM, I4H, and a lot of other comedy podcasts, and sure there are times where everyone wants to get a joke out at the same time and someone loses, but this is a less relaxed format; It's an interview. So, it can get kind of grating when this important interviewee gets their stories stepped on, and sometimes can't even get them out. I think most comedians don't mind because they are used to it, but the Rollins interview killed me. He was being so patient and just getting story after story stepped on. But with big names like Conan, Zach, Rollins, & Will Ferrell, yes I will listen, even if it is a host I don't completely love, because you never know what gems they are going to say, and some of them, you don't hear interviewed too often. -

Episode 14 — Henry Rollins
CPiz replied to JulyDiaz's topic in By The Way, In Conversation with Jeff Garlin
I agree that Jeff was stepping on his stories too much, and it was such a relief when Rollins busted out that lengthy, poignant soliloquy at the end, and Jeff finally let the man talk. Part of it might be Jeff's ADD, which he has mentioned, but I think that's why he calls these "conversations" rather than "interviews," because he is fully aware that he does more than just ask questions and listen. But in this interview, maybe because I like Rollins so much, the interruptions were more grating. Although, I have to give it to Jeff that he does ask good questions, and I like when he asks the person to go back and discuss a subject that they glossed over. All in all, I was happy to hear Rollins speak for so long. Great choice, Jeff! -
I love this movie. SPOILERS --> I especially like the scene toward the beginning when he stone-cold slams an engine-less, brake-less SUV down the side of a mountain. Great names, as a few have mentioned: Matrix, Sully, etc. Then there's the fight in the hotel that busts in on some nudity, the bad guy that wears a chainmail shirt, an extremely contrived assassination involving guys posing as garbage men WITH A TRUCK (what if the guy hadn't forgotten to put out his garbage the night before?), Arnold scalping a guy with a saw blade. Oh, dear lord, I could go on.
