Wow that's going to suck! Right to Video on demand I guess as they now say. Why does Hollywood have to do that, take a great movie and just destroy it,. I came here to reply about something and this made me loss my thought..

If you've ever wondered why book adaptations are such a crap shoot
jarrycanada replied to Lando's topic in Bad Movie Recommendations
I still have not read all of my copy of Under The Dome, or under the bed as I now calll it for me. but I understand that Steven king greenlights anyone who offers to make any of his books into a film/tv project just based on the fact that they may never get made into a movie or tv project again. he doesn't care if they are bad or good so long as they get made. that is the simple truth's of his works. was watching that Room 237 they talked about how Stanley Kubrick and king didn't see eye to eye on the subject of the shining and why the story was changed from the book. they also get into a lot of crazy stuff about the movie that is just simply nutz. but I enjoy that sort of thing. I love movies that take me into crazy madness. Jim Jarmusch once said there is a 1000 ways to tell the same story and it's so true. -
Episode 84 — No Holds Barred: LIVE!
jarrycanada replied to JulyDiaz's topic in How Did This Get Made?
as soon as that Hank Williams jr song came on I was tuned out of this movie, I could not take anymore. I had this vision in my head of the director in the editing room saying we need some sort of music to set the right mood of this restaurant fight scene. Ohh I've got it, lets use this "hank williams jr all my rowdy friends are comin over tonight' brilliant!!! Was listening to the podcast over the film at that point in the film. That was the breaking point for me. I really enjoyed the guest host "Thomas Lennon" he was really super funny and I think he really did a good job. I hope they have him on again. entertaining show despite the movie, that was borderline bad. -
I am not religious, but I found these kind of movies soul less. you get all these big name actors together and do nothing with them other then print there names on the poster. 12 years a slave was like that for me. I was so looking forward to that film by all the big stars they got for the project but was quickly let down by the Uselessness of the actors. and what we ended up with was a long draged out story line that didn't really work out well. It's not just the cheap CGI crap fire sword effects. it's that throw together hollywood movie format that so many film makers get suckered into making. If I was a film maker I would make fun of that. it's like directors get sucked into making these movies by being handed a big bag of money and they just can't learn to say no so they make that film anyway. the story is weak at best. and so they try and cover up the poor script writing/idea by masking it with big name actors to take away from the fact that the film's idea wasn't all that great in the first place. The actors feels like they are just show up to pick up the cashiers checks and it feels like that. "here you go and thanks for showing up". wink at the camara. I would do that in all of my movies, get a over the top actor like Samuel L. Jackson to just show up and say where's my check mother f**Ker!! that's all he does and walks off camara! Whats the record for the most shameless camos in a movie? I guessing that would have to goto cannonball run? that has to be about as bad as it can get.

Thanks for that post.. -
I am sorry Lando, I didn't notice that. I like Darren Aronofsky films and loved The Fountain. I guess I was too distracted by Russell Crowe and his magic fire sword to notice wow.. but I still wish they would of gotten Mel Gibson to play Noah and should of gotten Morgan Freeman to do the narrative, then you would of had a perfect heart touching movie, He would of been perfect. Mel was born to play noah. The scene in the trailer when he placed the sword in the ground and the cgi fire comes out is the killing point in the films trailer for me. this just seems too much like man of steal all over again. hey, there is another fine Russel Crowe movie..

That sounds like a strange asian porn movie. does that movie have table tennis balls in it? what film was that btw that played on that joke of table tennis balls at a strip bar, anyone?
-
I have to re-watch this movie because I can't believe I didn't enjoy it. I should of loved it. I like Ridley Scott films, but I think he must owe a lot of money to the bank. because he is green light's a lot of crappy movie ideas that should never should of been made. IE another blade runner movie is rumored to be in the works. Not even going to get started on Prometheus. this movie had such great actors in it but didn't do a lot with them. was listening to doug loves movies podcast and they had on that show Leonard Maltin he give this this movie his worst film of the year award. I sort of have to agree with him on that one. but i hated 10 years a slave a lot more, only for it's shameless pointless cameos that got used in that film.

Road house has to be on my top five of my favorite HDTGM shows.

I have to agree with you Wien, I was sold on this movie based on John Travolta's hair action. but when I got around to watching this movie it turned out to be a really boring long film. Sorry about that everyone.

Episode 26 — Jeff Garlin
jarrycanada replied to JulyDiaz's topic in By The Way, In Conversation with Jeff Garlin
Richard lewis was on Never not funny podcast, look it up on itunes if you can't find it. show number 1117 -
What they should do is record two or three shows for the month all together and that way they would have more time for the kid and show Showbiz life. I don't know why they would not do this in the first place. they sorta of been doing this with the largo theatre. I can't see why not just sit down in the recording studio and record two at a time. plus that kids going to be a great later on in life they can use him to read the amazon 5 star reviews.

Wow, i forgot about this film. I remember seeing it on cable tv years ago as it ran forever. looking at the trailer on youtube, I didn't know at that Sherilyn Fenn from twin peaks was in this. it's kind of fun spot a star you didn't know at the time. -
Star Wars: Threads of Destiny(2014)
jarrycanada replied to BobbyDeRisi's topic in Bad Movie Recommendations
I feel that this is what star wars would be like if it was directed by Uwe Boll.. I can't make it 5mins into this sorry.. -
Two things are clear to me now after listening to this podcast, they need to review more movie trailers in the future. maybe the mini podcast could have paul and the gang review movie trailers that they have seen. I'd reather hear that then hear paul read pointless comments for 5 mins. also the second thing is clear to me that this podcast isn't as good with out june. She was missed.
-
Benice if they did a show for this one just to hear Jasons insight into the making of it. kind of like the punisher.
-
inspired HDTGM pillow's, lets make this a earwolf item! the best part is you would have to buy all three to get the collection and support the show... Paul. jason, and the lovely june
-
Yeah this is clearly a 5 star product! I guess that person was expecting the real life nick cage to show up at his door. who orders this shit and thinks it's going to be super fantastic after all it's $13.99, it's most likely one of those items that costs more to ship then it's worth. I've seen a lot of those items at amazon, you'll see it listed cheap for less then 20 dollars but the shipping and handing is like another 20 dollars. and they ship it ground it to you. rip off artists, sorry to get into a rant. Maybe the HDTGM crew could make pillows, I could just see a paul scheer pillow.
-
I can only remember the first one, I'll buy that for a dollar! and my favorite one , Lewis are you ok? I'm shot. it's ok they can fix you, they can fix anything. kind of reminds of our medical world we are building, where the cure is worse than the disease.
-
i guess they are going to make another SPACE JAM 2 movie, not sure really why. but it's up there with this movie Jingle All The Way 2. i was kind of hoping they make a last action hero 2.
