  1. Somehow I listened to this against my better judgement. I think Blaine ran out of cocaine. He was actually listenable and took it down about 7 notches. It still didn't move the story along (best efforts noted!) they swam a minute, ran a bit and still have no idea what's happening or why. Blue, gold , red dogs and no reason to care.

  2. Ok, I have been listening for a very long time and I have been totally lost since sark left. Can anyone tell me what the F is going on in this campaign? Is there a point of any kind? Is this just the DM master bating over and over and over again? After listening from day ONE I think I have to turn this pointless story off and check back when this DM narasisim expiriment is over.

  3. I don't know who first mentioned this, but the sound quality has been spot on lately. I listen to podcasts all day at work ( mostly rpg ) (mostly) and you guys are near the top in quality.

For the record if I don't hear the dice and chips it's not a real actual play podcast!

  4. Comicbookmovie.com posted an article which reports that WB has purchased rights to and is fast tracking a big budget D&D movie reboot. They link to a Deadlne.com article that refers to a "Chainmail" script (think early Gygax) updated for the currant game. Interesting..

  5. No, Sark does not seem like that kind of DM, (neither am I!) but 4e requires maps for combat. No getting around it, and the more rules the gang picks up as they go, the more their game will break down. Weather or not they ever touch a module, eventually they will catch on to the rules as they gain levels. And 4e rules won't work for this table.

  6. I am a 4e DM too, and will continue to play for a while. However the last of the 4e books have been produced. Therefor done. No more. Ever. Play anything you want, that's cool, but 4e has only the past and no "future" (material).

Considering the limits of Sarks game I would suggest they switch soon. 4e will eventually break their table. IMHO

  7. I have been playing 4e for about three yrs and have had a great time, but can't imagine Sark and the gang having nearly enough table space to run combats higher than 3rd level without maps and minis for almost all encounters. DnD Next is, in my experience, very simple to learn and much easier to run FASTER, no map combats with. IMHO Also cleaner in running skill checks.

  8. Guest appearances are a potential gold mine for this podcast. Something very unique in the actual play podcast world, but a possible DM nightmare for Sark. I hope Sark never looks at a 4e rulebook again and just lets fly a one of a kind "guest PC" homebrew that breaks new ground. I worry that 4e has lost so much momentum, while DnD next will be the hot new podcast before everyone at the table learns all the crutch of 4e rules...especially guests.

I am unfortunately suggesting a TPK or cliffhanger at the end of season 1. Start a new game system (DnD Next, Pathfinder or whatever) and leave behind the 4e system. That ship has sailed in the RPG world. All new material produced in the future will be moving to 5e and I would like to see NP leading rather than following.

  9. Vin D Nerd Poker would be a dream come true for me. I have been talking to my Co-DM about a well produced celebrity D&D podcast for YEARS. NP is a highlight of my podcast week and the idea of bringing in a guest stars? (talkin bout you Patton !) like Vin D or Wil W. or John Stewart/ Colbert, hardwig, basically anyone cool , playing a great game, with cool people, with a GREAT dm (who doesn't know the rules and DOESN'T CARE!) (awesome!) talented role players, REALLY funny people, quality production, female voice (sexy!) and a spirit bear.....= HEAVY METAL AWSOME

    +1 vin D

  10.

I doubt that would help, Spencer runs a homebrewed 3.5 edition. 3.5/Pathfinder is very flexible and works great in the hands of a good DM. I'm sure Sark running that would be a joy. As he's stuck with a system that seems to be designed to ape an MMO he's doing an amazing job with what he's forced to work with.

Is this an actual play podcast? I run my own business and can listen to podcasts all day (and often do), and am always looking for a good listen.

  11. One future request, when the action slows down and the characters can catch their breath, I would love to hear a "campfire" episode where the characters can each give a little insight on their characters. Backgrounds, motivations, goals, etc.

While not required for entertaining enjoyable episodes now, by episode 100 it will help in painting a more complete picture for the listeners. And knowing the high talent level of your players it would most certainly be a laugh riot.

  12. This podcast just keeps getting better! ALWAYS keep combat a one episode thing, no matter how long. Cutting out in the middle is like walking out on a BJ and coming back a week later to finish. Still a good time, but frustrating ultimately.

Nerd Poker is really hitting it's stride and has us (the listeners) begging for more! Thank you for your time and efforts. It's a weekly smile on my face and laughing tear in my eye!

    Team high five!!
