  1. Yeah this was a good one for sure. Agreed Brian is killing it RPing, after listening to him talk about ex characters I didn't think he was too big on it but the Damian / Sir Richard thing is awesome. Found it a little funny they were worried if they went to one of these planets they would be stuck there, and not that they would now have an entire planet to adventure on. ADVENTURE!

  2. Really let down by this episode. Sure there were some fun moments (which is why I listen) but as far as the gameplay... c'mon if you were just going to hand it to them why waste an entire episode while they uselessly planned out a strategy. Sark basically explained to "Blackie" exactly what the group was doing. Pretty lame. Could have saved 50mins and just said "Ok everyone you line up the ships and make the jump, what next?". Seemed pretty clear there was not even a possibility of failure here. Sark must be scared after the "keep rolling til you fall" episode.

  3. Man, I really would like if Dave A. joined the group. He's great.

Also, Brian's new character is amazing. Great role playing, love how he's trying to keep what he's doing secret. That would be sure to drive mistrust between the party even when he's doing "good" things with his prayers.

Re Deadpool: If you're a fan of the show, pick it up. It's great stuff.

everything in this post. the latest Deadpool story arc & art are awesome.

  4. Tallahassee, FL. Looking for laid back adults to play D&D Next. Would be my 1st time DMing if I can get a group together. As a player I'm interested in any D&D (even 4th if that's all there is). Also would love to try Call of Cthulhu sometime.

  5. Digging the new guy, though that was some metagaming that a paladin allowed an "evil" person to join up. Bummed that Brian missed a great reference opportunity when Sir Richard said something like "my Vengeance is holier than yours", was hoping the Priest of Judas would reply with "my Vengeance is Screaming" or something similar.

  6. I was curious enough about what would have happened if Blackie had been under Amarth that I asked the boffins at Stack Exchange about it. No replies yet, but I'm interested in seeing what would (theoretically) have happened if Blackie had been in a position to break, slow, or direct Amarth's fall.

They explained in the episode that Blackie could only carry an certain weight and that Amarth exceeded that limit.

  7. Yeah have to chime in, the banter is way better than the gameplay. This whole campaign plotline is boring as hell to me most of the time. I much prefer these episodes where they ramble for 20-30mins. If you want strict, serious D&D gameplay there are tons of other podcasts out there.

  8. Sorry if someone asked this before but have you checked out the D&D Next stuff? It seems like it hearkens back to 2nd edition with cantrips and stuff and has some 4th ed fighting rules in it stil. I think it's still in beta but you can get all the documentation from wizards online for free. It might be worth looking into, I'm gonna take a crack at it!

I don't see the pod going for it but I personally am digging the D&D Next. A good mix of old school & new school D&D.

  9. Cue Cinderella's "You Don't Know What You've Got Til It's Gone".

All hail Nerd Poker Dungeon's & Dragon's with Brian Posehn and Friends!

Remember it with the mnemonic: Never Poke DaD with Big Penises and Fried chicken legs.

I think Brian should ban you for referencing Cinderella in anyway related to him.

  10. I have spent the last 3 days listening from start up til this episode and i cant count how many looks i have recieved at work while seizuring from laughter. You have inspired me to get back into DnD and am curious as to which edition i should go. I have heard you guys talk about 2nd being the best choice out of them so i think ill start there but input is always good.

there was a whole thread dedicated to this to keep it organized, of course that thread died but here it is http://forum.earwolf.com/topic/11004-dungeons-dragons-editions-you/

  11. Jumping in late to the is this or isn't this D&D thing; I feel it's mainly due to using 4e. I'm not gonna totally bash 4e, it has it's place and it's high points but it is a battle/skirmish/hacknslash style setup. Sark's deep story elements would be much better utilized if the group would go ahead and swap over to AD&D (2e) like they keep saying they will. 4e downplays role-playing & creativity I think.
