EPISODE 337 — The Ying and the Yankovic
StanSitwell replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Comedy Bang Bang
Yes Real music as in music made for music's sake, rather than made for parody and comedy's sake. I appreciate some musical comedy, but its a niche. I can't fathom only appreciating comedic music, seems like such misuse of an art form -
Haha, I saw Kroll posted a screenshot of ManChine so I had an idea a full on R. Schrift thing was coming. Didn't watch last night but can't wait to when I get home from work tonight

Love Gemberling taking shots at Anaconda, what a piece of trash and waste of time. It completely was, OMG we should remix baby got back! Make the beat sound as annoying as possible with stuttering and repeating at odd points, and have portions of the song where the beat goes away and Nicki Minaj repeats an often quoted line from the song over and over and over again GREAT BRIDGE NICKI!!!!!

EPISODE 337 — The Ying and the Yankovic
StanSitwell replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Comedy Bang Bang
As a person who loves real music, I would vote no... being a fan of and/or witnessing in concert ONLY weird Al would not endear her to only genuinely interesting people, maybe self important hipstery people, who I don't always find as interesting as they think they are -
Ugh, I was really hoping a second shirt would've been CREAK. SLAM. SIT., I would have bought it in a second, but I'll have to pass on this one I think this could have benefited from a quick poll of a few designs or 'plans' of designs like what the quote or gist was that the shirt was based on. I'd even have bought a "Where there's a will, there's a Wayans... so that's something" -Harris Wittels

Episode 1602 - Andy Daly
StanSitwell replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Never Not Funny: The Jimmy Pardo Podcast
I was almost all the way through this ep last week, maybe Friday night while making dinner. I paused after Andy went to 7/11 and forgot I didn't finish it until yesterday in the car. I absolutely thought that Andy would be the last one to venture over the 7/11 so I was shocked that there were 2 more trips left. The self-commentating that Andy did killed me, but when I got to Jimmy's trip as Larry I was laughing so hard in my car in traffic that I almost choked. I would pay good money for the surveillance footage of 'Larry' cruising around 7/11 like a god damned creep! Keep up the good work idiots!!! -
EPISODE 336 — NOT Farts and Procreation 4
StanSitwell replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Comedy Bang Bang
Just go with it, as soon as the ep starts your mind gets off that thought and just enjoys it. Honestly it made me feel weird thinking about his passing at all, but when this episode started (after Scott's foreword) for some reason I was finally just okay with it. Turn it back on, I doubt you'll be emotional... but when you're nearing the end of it you should shut it off and listen to the very end where you might be okay getting emotional -
i'll be honest, I was hoping whooch wouldn't be Harris-centric out of my own greed, I wanted to move on from the memorializing but this will suffice... waiting til after work to start it though because I think it will be a tougher listen than CBB was, CBB was a very easy listen

EPISODE 336 — NOT Farts and Procreation 4
StanSitwell replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Comedy Bang Bang
When I listened to the beginning on my drive to work Monday morning I was definitely getting misty in the eyes during the intro. Considered shutting it off so I didn't come into work looking like I just ran over a dog, but so glad that I didn't. To any who are not in the mood to listen to this, as soon as they kick into the episode you stop dwelling on the negative and just enjoy the feast for your ears. Thanks to all involved, thanks Chelsea for strong arming Scotty into releasing it, and thanks Harris for all the laughs Crreeeak. Slam. Sit. forever- 369 replies

Right, but not because of the color of his skin or those who usually make music that sounds that way

My point was just that when someone passes people will always say things like "it should have been ______" or "so and so didn't deserve to die!" as though anyone does deserve to die. This isn't a person being hit by a meteor or their plane randomly crashes, it's a bit different. I don't think I'm cold or an asshole to say that rather than saying those things, think about anyone in your life who might be hiding a drug problem like this and try to do something about it. Addiction is a disease, but its not cancer... if you live your whole life perfectly as the doctor's prescribe, you can still just get cancer and die. So what I'm trying to say is, stay away from the drugs kids

Robin Williams made me feel this way, because of how he went and what he brought to so many people it was just completely brutal to put it all in perspective. Thinking back, when Farley passed I definitely had a similar feeling to this one, its just a shame he didnt get to bring laughs to more people, and more laughs to those of us who already valued what he brought to the comedy world
-
when its an OD I don't know if you can really say that. I'm very sad he's gone, but you have to look at it for what it is, a learning moment for any fans or anyone in the comedy community struggling with addiction. Its a sad shame he's gone but he wasnt hit by a car crossing the street, he did it

RIP Harris "Where there's a will, there's a Wayans" -Harris Wittels

I think you're a little extreme but I agree with the general point. It's quite easy for a guy whose job is to speak on NPR to criticize other white people for what they choose to do and why its wrong... Should they try to get a job designing yogurt containers or selling heirloom tomatoes at the farmer's market instead? Real respectful to say people should do what they're stereotypically expected to. That Darius Rucker should be ashamed of himself... making 'white' music all these years

I'm not in the know on this guy, but I definitely found it funny that he's the source for bespoke clothing tips, given his outfit in the episode photos... I might ask him what's the best way to get a mustard stain out of a dark grey tee, but thats about it

I'm not so confident, if they come to Beantown I'll be there, but I also think Whooch makes more sense, because it would be odd to pay a bunch of money to hear howard just search for things to complain about that he ran into during travel from the last city. If they tour with just Howie, Kuku and Stard and conduct it as though its an episode of Whooch, by completing a few countdowns and ruminating on the subjects, and then taking audience questions for all 3 as the tweet chart, that could be great

"all those seals at the wharf, those are the chodes, the seal dudes who couldnt find a mate" keep it comin Howie, killing me at work in my cube right now

I definitely heard it myself before ever hearing the media talk about it, and I can say most of what I hear of the Fun/Queen connection is in Fun's song "carry on". It has the "anthem" vibe a lot of famous Queen songs had, and that same feeling is there in We Are Young but not as strong. The singer guy sounds a bit like Freddy Mercury, and not many rock bands got famous on these arena anthem's like Queen used to have, so I think its a pretty apt comparison

Full disagreement on the Missy Elliott. Was a big fan, was waiting for her return, was very happy to see her wearing shiny black trashbags like in The Rain video She brought something to the hip-hop game that wasn't around without her, so I hope she comes back strong

Episode 15Z - Dave Holmes
StanSitwell replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Never Not Funny: The Jimmy Pardo Podcast
with regards to trimming eyebrows igniting their growing gene... I say its not true. I'm only 32, but recently some eyebrow hairs have begun to grow out of one eyebrow in a noticeable manner. Trimmed those babies up and I've been free of the long stragglers for months now -
haha, Iliza's guess of the title of Project Almanac being "The Vandelay Report" murdered me. She's a Seinfeld fan to boot (I would have to assume), uh oh I'm in love

Seems like there's no C in her name, its spelled wrong someplace, because sometimes you have a C and sometimes you don't Just a heads up as guests probably don't want their names spelled incorrectly

Just read that Missy Elliott will be joining in Katy Perry's halftime show, now I'm excited for it. I need the comeback from Missy and I needed it yesterday, enough of this Nicki Minaj and Iggy Azalea crap
