this episode was definitely funny and a good CBB in general, but i don't think it's being a hater to be disappointed at no suicide house this year. its not like CBB has been around forever and they've done suicide house a couple of times, its been every halloween in its fairly short run, its a tradition and consistently amazing, its like if the simpsons didn't do treehouse of horror one year, people would be understandably bummed. obviously things don't always work out, people arn't available, etc. but i think its a totally fair reaction for people to be confused by this episode. one of the hallmarks of CBB is repeat jokes and characters, callbacks and building on stuff its done before. so calling this comedy fang fang and having not having brett gelman, jon daly, or allan mcleod or anything resembling old halloween episodes is going to be a huge let down.

i think anyone who is more bugged about the alignment bullshit over how fun and funny it'll be to hear them interact and try to roleplay through it is listening to the wrong podcast. i think what sets this apart and much of what makes it fun are the players and their relationship to each other and the hilarious shit that comes out of that in the story. the gerry/brian dynamic has always been one of the funniest and strongest aspects of this show. i think throwing a total foil to sir richard's pompous rightousness into the mix and completely turn the group dynamic on its head is awesome and i can't wait to hear everything that comes next.

i was thinking it was maybe something like this too, since they record a few of these at a time it seems i'm guessing we'll get brian's new guy early next episode.

oh man, the ending made me sure that Brian's way of pissing off Gerry is him rolling up a rival Glinnishmoorian character to antagonize him.

i loved how convoluted the todd's mom/girlfriend/scott's sister/wife thing got by the end

i'm gonna out myself as a person who's pretty clueless on the rules of D&D, but i had question about rolls. with the 2e system of rolling under, how to botches work ? isn't rolling a one a really good thing now? or is that for only certain kinds of checks? sorry if its a dumb noob question i'm just a little confused cause it seemed like a rule you guys had been doing for awhile and not 4e specific

it was worth it to hear Sark so delighted at what was happening. i'm psyched for a new character too, Amarth was great but really its all about the player, remember how bummed we all got when El Ryan died? but without that we'd never have any awesome Sir Richard stuff. I'm confident Brian will come up with someone good, plus it'll be interesting to shake up the party a little and see how they all deal with some new blood

i was thinking about this too, i may be wrong but i think the last time they were with them in the robot garage. remember there was talk of setting one of them on fire and having him run ahead as a human torch? i'm guessing they got left behind and presumably horribly murdered when the door was welded shut.

i owned the Pod People episode on VHS and i probably watched it a hundred times before i ever saw another episode. i had no idea it was such a fan favorite, i believe it though, its truely amazing

i totally agree and maybe it's just me, but for me, i always forget how good he is for some reason until i listen and then am so happily surprised.
