  1. I think we're just asked to accept that they're always the same kids, despite being portrayed by different actors (and the fact that they sometimes de-age in subsequent films).

Believe it or not, this was not a direct-to-DVD movie but was in fact a made-for-TV movie for NBC. NBC actually believed people wanted to watch this.

that makes it all the wierder that she comes back to play that character!

also that makes total sense that it was a made for tv movie, it has a bunch of random fade to black moments that are clearly commercial breaks. i recently had to watch it for work, i do quality control for VOD content. so clearly they still think people want to see this.

  2. It's also probably worth noting that Paul and June know Ben Stiller. Ben produces Burning Love through his production company, who also signed a development deal with Human Giant years ago. Stiller was also on Night of 140 Tweets, the charity event Paul and Rob Huebel organized.

i think you nailed it right there. they're not gonna shit on ben stiller, and if they wanted to there's better movies to choose, the fockers series for example, plus i just watched this again last night, it's not bad at all, it's clearly trying to be weird and absurd on purpose, the worst thing you can say about it is that it has that same fucking smash mouth song that was in every movie in 1999

  3. There's so much to dissect in this movie. There's a tanker truck literally filled with cocaine. There's all the shit with electricity. And Kurt Russell gets shot multiple times and the gunshots never affect his ass kicking abilities.

when they're being electricuted in the jail, then are totally fine, is one of the most wtf moments ever.

    nice name btw!

  4. I don't know if HDTGM does straight to dvd releases but this thing is fucking insane. It's in all ways terrible, but i think it's noteworthy in it's relationship to the Vacation series.

There's tons of gold to be mined for the HDTGM crew, radioactive monkey bites, ed asner as a pervy molester grandpa, horrible green screen shots, and maybe most weird, it has dana barron reprising her role as audry from the first movie, even though this is technically a sequal to the second movie, which shes not in.

  5. I would love to see Tango and Cash done. so much bonkers shit in this movie, Kurt Russell has a gun built into the heel of his boot! and he only uses it in the opening scene, never explained or mentioned again.

and it has that dude witht the fucking crazy huge face!

  6. try the Nerdist open mic at Meltdown comics. I've not done a ton of open mics so far in LA so i'm sure there's tons of others i'm un aware of, but I've gotten good reactions there for weird bits that bombed at regular comedy clubs. it's a good time even if you don't get a chance to go up, I've seen great stand ups there and the crowd is full of weird nerds.

  7. My roommate and I are both avid listeners and were recently talking about how we always wanted to play and never got around to it. admitedly we're both n00bs when it comes to actual D&D but we're totally into going full on into learning and having fun playing. the biggest hurdle seems to be finding someone to DM. hopefully they'd be someone as creative and with a good sense of humor as Sark, also someone who can abide new players and the learning curve that comes with that.

so how about it? any listeners who live in LA wanna get weird and start a game?

or do you just wanna hide behind your computers like dickheads?
