  1. Β

They stated that Earth was just now entering its "Genetic Age" where presumably the genes were good enough to bottle.

    Β

As a side note, its well known that 108 humans go in one bottle of soylent water. But if you grab some middle ages people... whew you'll be bottling all day long its more like 250 / bottle. And really it doesn't work as well =D

    Β

I don't remember anyone saying anything about a "Genetic Age", but maybe I just didn't catch that part. I won't argue that someone said it.

    Β

but if that is the case, then take humans that have already reached the ideal genetic age and re-seed new planets with them instead of waiting 100,000 years for them reach it on their own. they're already perfect to harvest and make rejenex (whatever it's called), so just get them to reproduce instead of completely starting from scratch every time the seed a planet.

(side point: they have the tech to erase people's memories, so there's no chance that the humans they take from one planet to the next would ever rebel because of knowing the truth about everyone else on their planet being killed like cattle)

    Β

it make absolutely zero sense why the hell they wait so long to harvest a planet.

  2. Correction:

That State Farm commercial shouldn't make you cry because of sentiment/nostalgia, it should make you cry because it's really dark and upsetting.

The pattern of the commercial is that every time the man states he'll never do something, the next scene portrays him in the situation he previously stated he would never be in.

In the last scene, he states he will never leave his family... if the commercial were to go on another scene he will have left his wife and children

thank you! it drives me crazy how many people love that commercial and don't realize that.

  3. 2 things:

    Β

    - I have a real problem with the whole harvesting humanity thing. the Abrasax family seed the earth with humans and then just wait a hundred thousand years or so to harvest? there are around 7 billion people alive on earth right now, but it’s estimated that 108 billion people have lived and died. thats 101 billion people that they didn’t get to turn into fountain of youth goo, and an unimaginable fortune that they’re just ignoring. shouldn't these planets be set up like actual farms and just process humans once they reach a certain age? or why not harvest the planet after a certain amount of time - like every 100 or 1,000 years or whatever - and then re-seed it, harvest again and repeat? and shouldn’t the abrasax family intervene in the major events of humanity by preventing wars, disease, and pollution so that their products don’t kill each other off and are nice and healthy when they process them?

    Β

    - the reason why it looks like Channing Tatum is on roller skates is because he was! while filming he was on inline skates jumping of ramps and skating on a specially made three-sided treadmill. they even brought in pro skaters Cory Miller and Taig Khris to train him.

    2) Something that has always bugged me about Deep Blue Sea is how did the shark escape in the beginning? Seriously. Carter asked Scoggins about the height of the fences ("Eight feet give or take a centimeter.") as if to imply the possibility that the sharks jumped over it. But the sharks' whole plan in the end is to sink the facility to jump over the fence so it wasn't that way. Soooo...how did they escape?

    Β

I came here to say that lol. BUT also; why did the sharks need to lower the fence when the one in the beginning escaped without doing that?

    Β

and why didn't they all just escape at the same time with the one in the beginning?

  5. so the guy that she asked to sleep with her that refused... who the hell was that? was he a kid of one of her mom's friends? because until about halfway through, I thought that was the guy best friend she mentioned. then when the ex boyfriend and the guy friend were next to each other (in the hall or when they were watching her make out) my brain exploded, because I didn't realize those were 2 different people.

    Β

did anyone else have as much trouble as I did keeping track of who all these guys were?

  6. ok I have some REAL big problems with one part of the "twist" at the end. not with the big twist (which surprisingly I was not as upset as others). I won't spoil it, but I'll just say there's a misdirect.

    Β

I hope they address it because it is so stupid and makes no sense at all. I already have a post ready for corrections and omissions if they don't. really looking forward to this one.

  7. I'm about halfway through this movie now and had to stop to say:

    Β

I have no idea what is going on, who anyone is, what they're doing or why.

    Β

I'm not exactly sure why but I can not for the life of me follow this pile of crap. I think it's the editing and the dialog. and the main guy... just hearing his voice and the way he speaks makes me mad.
