Dumb jokes.

Hey guys, I didn't really know what to say about Harris Wittels' death. Obviously any loss is tragic and regretable, especially someone we have all gotten to know and love through some of our favorite podcasts. That said, I can't say that I was the biggest admirer of Harris and I was only vaguely aware of him. It's not that I didn't think he was talented and funny, just that there's only so much time and attention one has to give and I tend to spread mine exceptionally thinly. I suppose I feel like a bit of an imposter posting this but I felt like it was important nonetheless. Upon seeing all you guys share favorite bits and memories of Harris, I went back and listened to a lot of the podcasts he has been in and that sparked the realization that a lot of my favorite Comedy Bang Bang bits are from Harris' Foam Corner or involved Harris. I suppose that's a lesson to me to take more time to appreciate the things I like and to take a moment to recognize the people who made them happen/created them/etc whether they be comedy bits or an exceptionally good cup of coffee or whatever. I think it's easy to be a blind consumer of a lot of things, comedy included, and it's easy to take them for granted and to forget to acknowledge the real people who make life better, who make life fun. I regret taking Harris for granted because I never got to recognize him for the contribution to my own comedic sensibilities and the best time to do that is never after someone is gone. I suppose there's a larger, more clichΓ© life lesson in there revolving around appreciating what you have before it's gone. Even though you hear it a lot, it's a good one and it's times like these when I understand why people bang on about it so much. The best I can do now is say thank you, Harris. Thanks for your humor. Thanks for making me laugh. Thanks for putting yourself out there to make people laugh. It's a brave and admirable thing to do. I also want to say how great this community is, even though I know we all already know that. It's really great to see people feel comfortable sharing memories of someone they barely knew but had such a strong connection with, and to be supported by that community is such a gift. Mourning is an important and very human thing to do and there aren't many places where people can do that about a public figure whom they admire and respect without it being awkward or seeming insincere or out of place. This seems to be one of the exceptions to that rule and it's so important that places like this exist. Love you all, gang. Take care of yourselves.

This is for Joe. Because Anastasia forgot to bring him to the live show.

From The Tempest?

Also I can't sleep because this is stuck in my head. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e-ORhEE9VVg You're welcome. Damn you Taylor Swift and your pop music perfection! ...and your good sense of humor about your critics. ...and your all around niceness and smartness and goodness.

...You spend one day on your "weird forest island" and you miss the best day of posting this forum has ever seen. Bullshit.

This is why you always win the Latin Grammy for best Hollywood Handbook Forum post.

It's only okay if I talk about this. When you do it it's racist.

...those are all words and phrases and I understand them individually but when you put them together you lost me. -
WHAT? WHAT? You people (Yes, you people) have the nerve to go to the live show and then you say how much you want to listen to the show when it comes out like us filthy plebs! The nerve.

It's weird because Toby Keith was at the Tacoma Dome (across I-5 with another giant light-up sign) like a month ago and I felt like they should be at the same place. Also Sinbad was at the Emerald Queen Casino recently.

So Zach said some things about women and now I actually do have something against the guy. Obviously he said how good they are and how much better than men they are. I don't know where people keep getting these ideas! It almost made me wanna start ranting about Winehouse again. This post is funny and nice and smart because he actually said really not nice and also untrue things about women and that goes against my forum persona, but a lot of people don't watch The Challenge and will think that he actually said nice things and that's a thing that my forum persona wouldn't like because he's a MRA. -
I love you TKS! Also, I thought of you the other day when I passed the Emerald Queen Casino in Tacoma and their giant sign said that Keith Sweat is gonna be there in April.
-
Also, if Jeff Dye can be in Girl Code why can't Hayes and Sean?
-
Toby Keith Sweat, I don't wanna fight you, man but that fucking Amy Winehouse was doing too much for those god damn feminists and I'm happy she's dead. I'm happy goddamnit because she was making women seem too powerful and too dignified and we cannot have that! We can't!

Yet further proof of both my omniscience and omnipotence.

Did you like how they mispronounced potash? I assume you know a lot about potash because you're from Saskatchewan and that's a big deal there. Also uranium. But that wasn't featured so prominently in this episode. Edit: FIRST!
-
You know, they didn't say this explicitly but I think Hayes' dig at Boko Haram caused them to get that turkey bone stuck in earwolfman Jack and that's why he died. I told you guys that Boko Haram was a big deal. I did. Don't say I didn't because I definitely did.

Yes you are.

Best episode ever? I loved the high energy, the Engineer Cody, Nicole, all of it. So good. Almost good enough that I might actually remember that this is actually a podcast and not just a forum next week.

Seeing this thread pop up on the forums reminded me that this is actually a podcast and not just a random internet forum again. PS - mad props to Agata for doing the Lord's (Anchorman's) work.

Just so you guys know, I'm jealous. In case that wasn't something that was obvious. Which it should have been.
