Yeah, his and Steve Austin's are good. -
In honour of "A Night of Hulkamania", I present, "The Lies of Hulkmania".

Yeah, Pancrase was an offshoot of the UWFi, wrestlers like Masakatzu Funaki, Minoru Suzuki and Ken Shamrock wanted to see if they could have real fights under Pro Wrestling rules (they worked some fights, like Shamrock losing the King of Pancrase title to Suzuki, but that was because they didn't want him as champion whilst fighting in the UFC.) Shooto predated Pancrase, I think that started in 1985, and you also had RINGS which started in 1991. -

For the "Night of Hulkamania", I'd love to see them bring in Wrestler/Comedian Colt Cabana. -
About 6 weeks, so I hung in there for a while.

I enjoyed watching The Room. Mainly because I put it on as a practical joke on my girlfriend at the time, and seeing her getting angrier and angrier at a film was absolutely HILARIOUS. Especially considering I prefaced it with "You know something, I know I'm not the sort of guy to do this, but I got us this film about a love triangle with two best friends, I thought you'd like it, so let's make a date of it". Towards the end, I was biting so hard on my cheek to cause physical pain so I could keep character and stop letting out a Ricky Gervais laugh with her reactions.

Theories on movie universes that could overlap

I'm starting to think that, in Rocky V, he just ignores his kid and spends all his time training some stranger from Oklahoma, even kicks him out of his room. No wonder he aged so fast. -

Shit, okay, the champion didn't care, he just thought "I'll whoop this motherfucker's ass on Christmas!", completely ignoring his child on christmas, seemingly leaving him alone in the house with a robot. -
I think the real ending was where the part on the rooftop, and then they just tacked on the bit on the end because they didn't want to end it like that.

And Kevin Bacon was just in RIPD, so he was dead all along!! But he wasn't seen by the kid in The Sixth Sense, which is why the audience didn't see him either, which means he was Hollowman! Which means that Kevin Bacon is in EVERY movie that ever existed, because the ones you don't see him in, he's just Hollow Man -

Oh yeah, it's complete ridiculous. Funnily enough, if you actually look at the movie from Drago's perspective, it's actually a really sad story. - Guy is an excellent amateur boxer, but isn't able to join the Professional ranks because he is from the Soviet Union - When he's finally allowed to join the professional ranks, he's IMMEDIATELY challenged by a long time former champion, a fight a guy making his debut should NEVER be taking. - His camp accepts the fight on his behalf - Time for the press conference, the former champion starts insulting him, and making fun of him. - Drago's bitch of a wife and asshole manager start talking for him, making shit worse. - Time for the fight, they don't even give him the dignity of his own entrance, instead, they just have him waiting under the floor, already in the ring. Not only that, the former champion gets an elaborate entrance, dancing with James Brown, generally fucking around, clearly not taking his opponent seriously. - The fight happens, and the former champion looks to embarrass him by mocking him in the ring - Drago wins the fight, but kills his opponent, something which happens five times a year on average. - Tired, and a little freaked out, he's mobbed by journalists, asking him questions. With no translator, he fumbles through a post fight interview in a language he doesn't speak, and says something inflammatory, which villifies him even more. - So, the current champion then challenges him to a fight, in his SECOND professional bout, which should never happen. But, he doesn't get his rightful shot at the title which he got by destroying the former champion. To make matters worse, it;s on Christmas day, which fucks up his holidays with his family. - The Multi-Millionaire Champion comes into Russia, and instead of putting together a real fight camp, where he'll spar with guys, work out in the gym and other such things, he piss arses about in the snow with only one trainer, no cut man. Which shows he's not taking the guy seriously, which is disrespectful. - The fight happens, and he's obviously given an amazing response from the people. But then, they start cheering for the other guy, this is a guy who is fighting FOR these people, is fighting the champion in his SECOND Professional bout, and he's being denied his title shot. - Not only do the people turn against him, his own government turn against him, as do his trainers, and even his wife. - After putting up a valiant effort, he loses to the champion, after knocking him down about 15 times, an amazing performance for a guy in his SECOND professional bout, and people are happy that he's lost. AND PEOPLE THINK DRAGO IS THE BAD GUY IN ROCKY IV?! -

Well, Paulie from the Rocky series seemed to be a fan of them in Rocky 4. So it can happen. -
Technically speaking, Crank 2 is actually the third movie. You have Crank 2, and before that, you have Crank, and, believe it or not, Spice World is the first Crank movie. It's right there to see.

That's why shoot interviews are so fascinating. Some of the stories that have come out of them are amazing.

Oddly enough, that's why they were trying to bring in Stan Hansen, not only was he a good worker, he had the physical size to look like a threat Hogan, as well as being one of the best heels in the business at that time, to the point where the mob put out a hit on him and Bruno Sammartino actually met with them to tell them to "Let me handle it in the ring".

Best part of this movie, "Tiny" Lister's "Zeus" character, actually became a contracted WWF wrestler <iframe src="http://www.ebaumsworld.com/media/embed/83469199" width="567" height="345" frameborder="0"></iframe> And after his stint in the WWF, he was brought into WCW as, and I wish I was making this up, "Z-Gangsta", complete with his eyebrows painted on, and joined the group "The Alliance to End Hulamania". On top of that, they needed a guy to play a crazy pro-wrestling bad guy in a movie, so they bring Lister in, and then cast an actual crazy, pro wrestling bad guy in the movie, the one and only, Stan Hansen, who played "Neanderthal", who the WWF were trying to sign to work heel against Hogan, but he turned down the offer and went back to Japan.

I was thinking the same thing, perhaps a double header with the reboot. I went to see the new one, and they'd basically made a movie about the robot in the Simpsons that says "WHY?! WHY WAS I PROGRAMMED TO FEEL PAIN?!"
-
Yeah, the first film took some "creative liscence" with the first game. The second film was a hodge-podge of 2, 3 and 4, and just made it's own shit up, and it was so bad, it was laughable.
-
Not only that, he was an American Gladiator! So was Motaro
-
If they're doing "Hulkamania Night", they have to start EVERY sentance with "Well you know something BROTHER!!"

Nice. One thing I think Mortal Kombat has done well as a franchise are their opening sequences. Since MK: Deadly Alliance, they've been really good. These 5 minute clips probably told more story than both movies combined.

Did anyone else notice that the Big Santa who inadvertantly punches the Midget Santa was actually the guy who would eventually become WWE wrestler, The Big Show?
-
And it's a WWE movie too, and the main star will probably be this guy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ROGONN244DI Although, it's somewhat fitting that WWE produce it, as The Big Show was in the first one.

What was doing me in with this film was the name of Rodman's character, "Yaz". Because every time I heard his name, I kept on thinking about this fucking song. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UtKADQnjQmc See, same hair, ambiguous sexuality. Perhaps she backed out, and Rodman filled in.

On the subject of movies adapted from other things...
Smigg replied to Quasar Sniffer's topic in How Did This Get Made?
Shows how much I paid attention, I never noticed any stories to them., Then again, I was usually sat at my friends house trying to figure out if I could shoot myself in the head with his light gun and it actually work because I was so bored watching him play them.- 9 replies
