I think the issue is, they're ultra violent, and it would be hard to get the ultra-violent into a desireable PG-13 franchise. So, without it's gruesome, over the top horror-movie style content, it loses it's main appeal to a lot of the audience. It's sort of like the RoboCop remake, what made RoboCop so great was that it's violence was so over the top, it became somewhat comical, which was entirely by design. They then made the remake a PG-13 movie, and it didn't translate as well, happened with The Expendables 3 as well. But, when you look a passed that, and take a look at the whole mythology of the games, it's so extensive, with so many sub-plots, fueds, alliances, betrayals, you could have the main "Mortal Kombat" movies, but then you could have Sub-Zero movies, Scorpion movies, Special Forces movies, Shaolin Monks, hell, you could even have a western with one of the characters. The possibilities are almost endless... yes, I know I'm a huge nerd.

Oh, I know that all to well, Mortal Kombat has been a love of mine for 25 years... holy shit, a quarter of a century. They could turn the whole franchise into it's own version of the Marvel Universe, and because it's owned by Warner Bros, it can be folded into the DC universe, which they have done before

As a wrestling fan, you took my response haha

I see But because I see "Whataburger", I can't help but thinking about that video of those guys fighting in Whataburger.

I like this guy.

Nothing to do with anything, but had to say it. These Wonder Woman posters are beautiful.

Awesome, I loved Nicole Byer in the Bloodsport episode.

I grew up with a grandmother who did not give one single fuck about age ratings when it came to movies. My mum would drop us off with her for the day, she'd take use down to the "tape shop" as she called it, and whatever we picked, she got. No questions asked. I noticed one thing. The kids movies I saw in the vast majority, they suck ass in retrosprect, there are some anomalies, like Home Alone. But I still think movies like Bloodsport, Kickboxer, RoboCop, The Terminator, Commando and all those movies. I still adore them. I was 6 when I first watched Bloodsport, I was 6 when I saw Chong Li stamp on Suan Parades's leg, and the bone stuck out the skin. But, for as irresponsible as my grandmother was, I had great parents, so while they didn't like us watching movies like that (well, my mum did. I think my dad didn't care, as long as we behaved), they made sure we understood that these were "grown up films" and that they're not real, and you cannot act like that,

Fuck Surf Ninjas! I need to watch this!
-
HAHA!! Old Smigg won himself £60 on Moonlight.
-
All ninja movies have been spoiled for me because I knew that it was pointless even watching any more, because none of them can top this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-EvPvfVOUV8 You have a ninja who is an Italian guy dressed in white, literally the worst colour a ninja can wear other than a hi-vis jacket, throwing a star that emits a noise when thrown, and he STILL manages to go undetected. Nobody can match those skills. And that death, heart-wrenching.
-
I was looking to see if Surf Ninjas was on Netflix. When I got to "Surf N", the first thing that was suggested was "Surf Nazis Must Die" (although, that isn't on Netflix either. Netflix UK is aenemic when it comes to selection.) But now I kinda want to watch it. Any movie with the titled "Surf Nazis Must Die" is a must watch. Netflix UK is weird, they list "Surf Nazis Must Die", when it's not even on there, and they keep hounding me to watch Trevor Noah's new special, despite rating another one of his specials as one star.

Episode 156 - xXx: Return of Xander Cage: LIVE!

I played rugby (and other sports requiring a gumshield as we call them in the UK), and you'd be amazed by the amout of times I saw guys just buying a gumshield, opening the box, and putting it in their mouth. Because they didn't put it in boiling water and mold it to their teeth, it never fit. Because they didn't fit, you always got that satisfying moment where you hit them, and their gumshield goes flying. You never want to be the guy whose gumshield is sent flying -

I don't know why I laughed so hard at this, but I'm glad I read it. But, I know what you mean, I have a couple of friends who do or have done porn, and they told me that they knew so many girls who, say their name was "Sarah Fox", they'd spell it "Sarah FoXXX", and every time I see the XXX, two things always pop into my head. The movie, or the Austrailian beer called 'Castlemine XXXX". -

Excellent, I skipped last weeks, so I'm all in for this one. -

How about this piece of Seagal? -
Possible alternative to the paywall which could both bring in money for old episodes without having to pay for content you're not gonna use. Charge per episode, something reasonable like 50c for an episode, that way, you're paying for only what you want.

I read an interview with Dean Ambrose, I wish I could find it now, because when they broke up The Shield, one of the things they discussed was their ring gear, because they wanted them all to wear long pants, and a sleeveless shirt because they had all become synonymous with that look. So they had Reigns keep the established "Shield" look, because they wanted to give him an extra shove as a good guy, they wanted Ambrose to switch to jeans and a wifebeater, but they discussed Rollins' gear, and Plissken's outfit was brought up as a jumping off point. Obviously, he's modified it now with other colours, but there's still that template
-
A small but pointless piece of trivia. Snake Plissken's outfit served as inspiration for former WWE Champion, Seth Rollins' ring gear when the company decided to make him a singles wrestler.

Another one for the list.

Arnie had some belters in his movies. That's something that needs to come back, Power Ballads at the end of action movies.

You'd think that was the worst ever... well...

I never thought I'd see a lip sync fail as bad as Cheryl Cole (or whatever her name is, she's on her fourth name now) But Mariah Carey topped it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yn3t-waUwfQ
