  1. I mean, imagine how much better the world would be if we never said truthful things and just made people feel good about themselves?

That actually does sound like a better world. If we just told people what we enjoy about their work, with maybe a smidgen of constructive criticism, always with the aim of analysis of art and improving stuff and not just "That episode was shitty, have a brilliant day, guys! :) :) :) :) :) " then, you know, a few days later maybe there would be no more conflict in the middle east.

  2. Love the podcast in general. But this episode was really bad. I don't think I laughed at all and the neverending devolving character skit was painful to listen to.

    Have a wonderful day. :)

Dude, why did you post this comment? If you want cbb to make more podcasts that you like, then why not comment on stuff you enjoy, rather than saying 'I don't like dis' It just seems petty and rude.

Also, another thing I dislike is saying something insulting and then putting a smiley at the end of your comment. It just makes it look really creepy, like you're a bond villain or something.

  3. I was calling Randy Cohen a comedic genius. He is an amazing writer. He helped the UCB with our first sketch pilot that we had with FOX before Comedy Central. If you ever saw TV Nation he was literally responsible for half the bits on the show. He defines prolific. I only call myself a genius to...my wife.

Ah, that makes much more sense!

Being an eighteen year old guy from the UK, I don't know that much about american comedy history (I was four months old when TV Nation ended.), so I associated Randy Cohen with the ethicist column and not comedy. And the only reason I even knew that column existed was you mentioning it on the previous I4H.

    ...mah wife.

  4. Is no one else going to bring up the fact that Besser called himself 'Comedy Genius'? Maybe it was ironic or something, but it seems odd for a comedian (the stereotype is they think they're terrible) to be so immodest, haha.

Anyway, I like Case Closed, and I thought this week, where we had a topic that is more interesting to debate than 'Insert stupid right wing idea/ twitter troll's comment here' and a debater who was in Besser's 'intellectual weight class', was better than usual.

Also, I think it would be cool to have a listener be the referee. They wouldn't have to do much, but I think they'd be more likely to be neutral (I'm sure they'd still be pretty biased though) than a comedian or friend of Besser. And listener participation is always fun.

  5. I thought I'd just chime in and say I enjoy the case closed segments, but I wish you could get someone who sticks to their position. Maybe on a topic that the listeners might disagree with you about. I4H is basically a liberal echo chamber, so the left vs right stuff isn't quite as interesting.

It's kind of annoying, though, that all these idiots on twitter get to have a long discussion with some of my comedy heroes just by dint of being stupid and conservative (which are basically the same thing, am I right guys?), although I suppose in the end they get totally shit on by a load of professional improvisers, so it sort of balances out.
