    It has been mentioned in other threads. Unfortunately, Sark is going to be busy the next few months, and even then he may want to keep some of those ideas in play in case they resume that campaign.

    I'm guessing it's like the X-Men's Danger Room. A place to work out how a new party can or should work together without fear of real consequences.

     

    When I was DMing I'd use an easy early objective to allow the same sort of thing, and it looks like Blaine's scenario morphed into something closer to that.

    They did make one, back in the late 1980s. I remember Ned's kids reference it on The Simpsons.

     

    It was pretty awful. You got exp for not killing, etc, and spells were limited to miracles of the Bible.

     

    I never played because it sounded stupid, even as a former D&D player. It was like offering an O'Douls to a reformed alcoholic...why drink horse piss if it won't get you drunk?

     

    Was it DragonRaid? According to this article, it's not a bad game (and there were a lot of bad D&D knockoffs at the time.) The magic system certainly sounds interesting. There's a download link if you want to look at it yourself.

    Hug and Lyra actually said they were trying to "stay out" of the fight this episode. I mean, in the context of the character alignment i guess that's true to character, but they already spent a night running and hiding from an angry mob.

     

    Remember that Hug has a single Hit Point.

    Its cool because it bounces in and out of character as a group plays D&D. Worth a read if you enjoy Webcomics. Start from the beginning. Its worth it.

    That said, I am confident in Blaine. I think it would be unfair to him to have him continue Sark's campaign. He doesn't know where Sark was headed, and he has Blackey to look after. I'm hoping he'll start up a brand new campaign with a brand new party. I would love to see his own original ideas for a world and storyline.

     

    But picture Brian having to part with Damien… :(

    Sad to see the shitty DM move on (especially after the epic Battle of the Baby,) but I'm eager to see what kind of a shitty character he comes up with.

     

    Since they're apparently taking requests, I'd like to see them invite Spencer from Harmontown to sit in for a couple episodes.

    I can admit that, a little bit when it became clear that the townsfolk were compromised, and then much more when everyone in town froze and then imploded, the main thing going through my head was "damn good thing Sir Richard isn't alive to see this, it would have ruined him."

     

    He'd be doing meth by now.

    Hello! I just listened to the newest episode (dwarves vs. manrats) and the gang left without Stargoyle! Did he sneak onto the carts without anyone noticing? -coughIhopesocough-

     

    I'm guessing when he lost contact with Blackie he returned to the ship.

    So it occurs to me: do they still even give a shit about Glinishmore? I mean, Mildred might, as she's got some morals...but the rest are either impulsive narcissists, or actively evil.

     

    I have a suspicion that Damien isn't actually evil. He may turn out to be some variety of neutral. I don't have much to back this up, other than his actions so far can be viewed either way (at least from a Lawful Good perspective) and his spells seem to be twinned (e.g., Detect Evil and Detect Good.)

     

    Of course, I'm not even sure they're using the old 2D alignment system, so...

    i have a question for any d&d spell caster experts out there, is that polymorph spell just like an illusion thing or does it actually make blackie into whatever he chooses to look like? when he brought it up all i could think was why doesn't he just turn into like a bull or dinosaur or something and go on a rampage? if it does give him the actual form of something couldn't he just like bust into the rat king's room and bite his head off?

     

    Not an expert by a long shot, but polymorph has long been considered a game breaker, because of those very reasons. Sark is limiting it to assuming a form of the same mass, which reigns it in a bit (Blackie might be able to turn into a rat-sized dinosaur.) That may be a house rule (someone will correct me if I'm wrong!)
