It's the Chinese Theatre bit that is confusing I think. I think it's just 'then go walk in front of Chinese Theatre', but Samberg says it in a very specific way in the original version that isn't easy to replicate.

U2 on the cover of Time!
theforeverlostsoul posted a topic in U Talkin' Talking Heads 2 My Talking Head
The magazine, not the concept. There's no way Time magazine would consider putting U2 on their cover unless they listened to U Talkin' U2 To Me?, is there? It's another subtle message from Bono to Scott and Scott (after 'it's been a while' in his letter) to acknowledge their sterling work on the podcast. -

I was ridiculously excited when I got a Soundcloud update that mentioned U Talkin' U2 To Me? and even more excited when I saw it was 2.5 hours long. Such a great episode, and the album is also really great too. Double C+. -
Episode 17 β Songs of Innocence

It's so strange that neither Scott asked him when he'd first heard U2, or indeed that he didn't just tell them when he first appeared, so I hope they remember to ask, or he just tells them, when he first heard the new album if he's on again. -
U2's new album to be out soon

Yes I am! But unfortunately I'm not having the same success at getting information about college girls or t-shirts. -

Bono's letter about the new album has enough good material for a full episode on its own I think. http://www.u2.com/news/title/remember-us -
U2's new album to be out soon

"...stay with us for Songs of Experience. It should be ready soon enoughβ¦ although I know Iβve said that before..." - Bono. Of course, we all knew that U2 would be doing 2 albums, thanks to Scott relating that piece of information that the dude from the band Danger Mouse is in let slip in an interview. Lots of U Talkin' U2 To Mes to come! -

California (There is no end to love) is a classic 'This is the best song title you could come up with?' song title. -

Just imagining the frantic texting between Scott and Scott right now and the high five they'll give each other when they meet up before the next podcast makes me smile. I'm more excited for the podcasts than actually listening to the album! -
Episode 300 β Oh, Golly! You Devil
theforeverlostsoul replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Comedy Bang Bang
What a glorious two hours! Good thing about the lack of microphones was that it prevented all the forces of good and evil from talking over each other, because there were a lot of them in the room. I'm hoping that some TV executives were listening, and are ready to get in touch with Don DiMello to get a live performance of Don DiMello Presents Disney's Frozen on television around Christmas. Would be fun for all the family, with something special for daddy. -
Can anyone explain how I found Harris' joke about not liking Larry Bird so funny? It really feels like it was not a good joke at all, but I laughed so much I worried my ass could become detached from my body. Also, I can't believe that when Harris mentioned the most controversial song on the album, he and Scott missed Mike's brilliant 'Cop Killer?' suggestion completely.

Episode 88 β Mr. Nanny: LIVE!
theforeverlostsoul replied to JulyDiaz's topic in How Did This Get Made?
The dog thing is amazing*! As they all agree during the podcast, there's no way the editors didn't notice it, so what made them keep it in? It looks like there was a lot of footage of Terry Hogan on his bike in various locations, surely they could have chosen another piece of footage? *By amazing, I mean horrifying -
Episode 14 β Staind Glass
theforeverlostsoul replied to JulyDiaz's topic in U Talkin' Talking Heads 2 My Talking Head
Going through old CBB episodes, and during episode 87, with Nick Thune & Chelsea Peretti, Nick mentions that he was working on a joke with Scott about U2 splitting up and hoping that The Edge's lawyer wasn't pro-Bono, and then Nick's next joke mentions stained glass! Fun stuff. -
Episode 16 β Commentary Special
theforeverlostsoul replied to JulyDiaz's topic in U Talkin' Talking Heads 2 My Talking Head
We should talk about how Scott said How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb was his favourite U2 album, only for him to say he didn't like a few of the songs on it during that episode, including describing one as 'throwaway', and then only listing it as his third favourite U2 album in this episode! -
Episode 16 β Commentary Special

What the world really needs is a video supercut of every time that's happened so far. Just a shame that it's an impossible dream. -
Episode 16 β Commentary Special
theforeverlostsoul replied to JulyDiaz's topic in U Talkin' Talking Heads 2 My Talking Head
I mean, there's literally no reason for them not to do commentary on every other episode, is there? I think the episode they were(n't) commentating on was at just the right volume. It made this episode interactive with that episode, which generated some great bits, which I can't wait to hear about on everyone's favourite bit-related podcast, 'Great Bits'. And what are the chances of there being a moment's silence in the commentary just as Scott randomly said 'Dr. Seuss', which was the source of much hilarity. -
Possible future episode ideas?

I actually just thought of 'U Torque-in' U2 To Me' featuring Joseph Kahn, who directed Scott in the seminal classic Torque, and directed a couple of U2 videos.- 10 replies

Episode 15 β Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark
theforeverlostsoul replied to JulyDiaz's topic in U Talkin' Talking Heads 2 My Talking Head
So what are our guesses for next week's special episode? My money is on Scott and Scott's former girlfriends whom they married making guest appearances to say 'What the fuck is wrong with U 2 and talkin' U2?' but it could also be the long awaited college girls episode, a sit down with Bono or old sourpuss himself, or something completely different. -
That's definitely part of it for me. Daly is usually talking vaguely about un-named characters in the past tense, but it's often happening in the moment when Adomian does it. I think I would find it just as off-putting if a Daly character was doing 'things' with a female character in the studio, if not more so.
-
You're really telling me that you don't think any of the stuff that Paul Giamatti's been involved in during his numerous appearances was particularly graphic? It may just be that I don't like the Paul Giamatti character, or that I don't find Adomian as funny as I do Daly. I don't think it's as simplistic as being jokes/bits about straight sex or gay sex, more the way the are told and/or acted out. It just seems to me like more of Adomian's appearances end up going down that path and that it doesn't appeal to me. I may be wrong because I've only listened to a handful of CBB episodes more than once. I don't know what you'd be accusing me of if I had a dislike of bits about gay sex acts either. I don't see how it could be considered homophobic or whatever.
-
If I'm remembering that episode correctly, I did not enjoy it, no.
-
It doesn't feel to me like Andy Daly's characters do it as often as Adomian's do, or in such detail. Maybe it's the voices of the characters that make a difference, or that Adomian takes it further than Daly does. But no, I can't recall being put off by Daly's characters in the same way. And I do think Daly is funnier.
-
I thought the first half of this episode was brilliant. As Scott says, very much not what you normally expect from Comedy Bang Bang but refreshing and very interesting. But I was totally out when Paul Giamatti was introduced. I think James Adomian can be funny, and I enjoyed George W., but I find it impossible to enjoy his characters when they start talking about/doing repulsive sexual activity.

I do think that Scott sounds kind of insane when he's trying to explain his theory about the ideal pubic toilets. I can kind of understand where he's coming from in certain aspects of it (namely the privacy part, because I always try to avoid uh, sitting down in public toilets...), but there's definitely a 'Wait, what?' element to the way he explains it.
