Episode 14 β Staind Glass
theforeverlostsoul replied to JulyDiaz's topic in U Talkin' Talking Heads 2 My Talking Head
This really was a fantastic episode. I was listening to it while out and about, and it caused me to laugh or snort out loud possibly more than any other episode has so far. I really enjoyed Todd's weird innocence about the tone of the show in general, and his concerns about Staind actually hearing any of his comments. I would happily listen to another 6 episodes. I was also quite worried that I might actually like Staind, having written them off entirely as total shit in the nu-metal era, but thankfully I was correct at the time and now. -

Here's a stupid question. Do you think they were both deliberately suggesting songs to sing that they didn't know the words to, or was it just a coincidence that they both thought of songs that they didn't actually know very well? Either way, I enjoyed them both saying 'What about...' then realising that the other didn't know the song or they didn't know it themselves.

I think, as solo bolos go, this one was high in soloness and boloness. There was maybe a little too much bolo and not enough solo if you know what I mean (because I don't) but it certainly had solo and bolo elements to it that I enjoyed.

Episode 11 β How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb
theforeverlostsoul replied to JulyDiaz's topic in U Talkin' Talking Heads 2 My Talking Head
I think we need to talk about Scott throwing out the M word about the album, only to dismiss three or four of the songs as not that great. And him just being wrong about how good the album is. Also, a new podcast called Baby Sniffin' with Scott and Scott. -

It does actually look kind of cool, the PopMart live from Mexico City show is pretty great too, despite the stage attire. -

I think Scott and Scott's former girlfriends whom they married should have their own podcast called 'Why R U 2 Still Talkin U2?'- 69 replies

Episode 10 β All That You Canβt Leave Behind
theforeverlostsoul replied to JulyDiaz's topic in U Talkin' Talking Heads 2 My Talking Head
I really don't understand how two hours of this stuff is so entertaining, but I absolutely love it. It is inexplicable that Electrical Storm isn't on All That You Can't Leave Behind, it's high quality rock and roll music. -
Episode 9 β Slowing It Down
theforeverlostsoul replied to JulyDiaz's topic in U Talkin' Talking Heads 2 My Talking Head
Thanks, I don't think it's too soon for me to have changed my Twitter bio to 'Adam Scott's best bro' as a result, right? -

What an honour to get a name check in this episode as the 'some listener' who thinks Harris and Scott didn't give Scott enough credit for coming up with 'U Talkin Tattoo You To Me?' as the name for a Rolling Stones podcast. Is this what it's like to be famous? -
Episode 8 β Pop

Idea for a title if Adam Scott Aukerman decide to do a HAIM podcast: Hey I'm Talkin Haim To Him. -

Does anyone have/know where to find the Passengers version of One that Adam couldn't find? -
Episode 8 β Pop

I really do love this podcast. It's probably 70% nonsense to 30% actual U2 discussion, but the nonsense is wonderful and the U2 discussion is actually very interesting and informative (as well as stupid)! I'm listening to U2 more than ever now and discovering songs of theirs I'd never heard before. And more importantly, I'm laughing a lot. -
Contains a very hotly debated round of 'Would you rather?' Perhaps one of the most controversial in CBB history!

Episode 7 β Zooropa
theforeverlostsoul replied to JulyDiaz's topic in U Talkin' Talking Heads 2 My Talking Head
It's going to become a great screenplay. But if Adam Scott is Bono and Scott Aukerman is The Edge, who plays Larry Mullen Jr and Adam Clayton? -

I hope they discuss Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me in the next episode, I want to know how Scott thinks it compares to his favourite song, Batdance! -
I really love Alan Thicke's vocal tics. And I would buy an album with that title too.

Episode 6 β Achtung Baby
theforeverlostsoul replied to JulyDiaz's topic in U Talkin' Talking Heads 2 My Talking Head
I watched Zoo TV: Live in Sydney today. The whole band's costume options are certainly questionable (particularly Bono of course), but it's a pretty spectacular show. -
Episode 6 β Achtung Baby
theforeverlostsoul replied to JulyDiaz's topic in U Talkin' Talking Heads 2 My Talking Head
That was some high quality rock n roll, uh, podcasting. I think this was the best episode so far. A real, full discussion about Achtung Baby, and plenty of inspired nonsense too. I got a lot of strange looks because I was laughing so much while out and about listening to it. I like U2, but don't listen to them that much. But I'm enjoying U Talkin' U2 To Me? so much that I'm going to watch Zoo TV - Live from Sydney, and listen to Zooropa before next week's episode. -
Episode 279 β Reverse April Fools
theforeverlostsoul replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Comedy Bang Bang
I've forgotten if Scott being unable to say Comedy bi bag..Comedy ba bi...Comedy bo be ba... the name of the show is just something he started doing himself, or a product of something that happened in a previous episode. Anyone remember which it is? -
Episode 279 β Reverse April Fools
theforeverlostsoul replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Comedy Bang Bang
I don't know why, but I kind of enjoyed Patton Oswalt quoting Danger Zone and it getting no reaction in the room. Lauren Lapkus was pretty great, but she basically always is. Also, I don't want to cause any friction between Scott and Scott and put the future of U Talkin' U2 To Me? in the balance, but the talk turns to bassists and Scott names Larry Mullen as one? I think we have to question just how qualified he is to talk U2 to us! -
Episode 84 β No Holds Barred: LIVE!
theforeverlostsoul replied to JulyDiaz's topic in How Did This Get Made?
I meant a remake of the film, but I'm in on the 100 people re-enacting the scene idea. -

If Jason and Paul wrote a remake of this, Paul Rust would have to play this character. -
Episode 5 β Achtung Baby?
theforeverlostsoul replied to JulyDiaz's topic in U Talkin' Talking Heads 2 My Talking Head
I thought 'There's no way they actually talk about Achtung Baby' when I saw the question mark in the title and the running time of the episode. But this was still a great episode! It's basically rambling nonsense, but bizarrely brilliant. -
I always find James Adomian's stuff gets very tedious when it becomes sexual. It's happens so often that it's boring and a bit gross instead of unexpected and funny. So George Zimmer getting fired because of the blowjobs was fine, but once blowjobs actually start happening in the studio, I'm over the whole thing. Zimmer and Russell Crowe were entertaining enough without that element. But Matt Berninger and Rhett Miller were definitely surprisingly entertaining in the episode.
