  1. Has it been mentioned that this movie is a koo-koo bananas homage to Disney princesses? Think about it:

    • Average girl doesn't know she's royalty (Sleeping Beauty, Tangled)
    • She's friends with rich girl she works for (Princess & the Frog)
    • Works as cleaning lady (Cinderella)
    • Willing to marry bad guy for greater good (Beauty & the Beast)
    • Roguish love interest (also Tangled) who is literally part beast (also Beauty & the Beast)

Can't help but wonder if a singing snowman was part of the 600-page script...

When a friend of mine described it as "American learns she is royalty and has to deal with other people trying to get her out of the throne" or something like, my mind thought "King Ralph in space."

  2. Jesus Christ everyone, the day this episode was released, there were also brand new episodes of Comedy Bang Bang and the Thrilling Adventure Hour, all starring Paul F. Tompkins. I know the dates of the actual recording of these various comedy happenings are spread out, but still. Now today, I find this video, which is worth mentioning for just how well Mr. Tompkins pulls off a fucking cravat:

PFT: As prolific as Phish live albums, but a lot funnier!

He also provided off-mic laughter on the new "Womp It Up."

  3. I'm glad you got someone on who enjoyed this film as much as I did. I know it's Looney Tunes, but I thought it was a lot of fun!

I noted that this is the second HDTGM film (Godzilla being the first) where it seems like a character in the movie got their hands on the actual film footage. When...um...Whispery Abrasax? Eddie Redmayne's character is watching a hologram replay of the egg donor clinic, he's watching the last scene in the movie, Spaceballs-style. Not security footage, not something from any of the alien's point of view, THE ACTUAL MOVIE.

In Batman & Robin, Batman shows Mr. Freeze footage of Poison Ivy confessing to pulling the plug on the cryogenic machine Freeze's wife is being kept in. That confession is also straight-up film footage being shown again.

Also, this episode gave me the hardest laugh I've gotten in a long-ass time from this show. When someone asks Josh Richmond how Channing Tatum survives on the outside of a spaceship that travels through space, and his response is a matter-of-fact "He's part dog." Destroyed me.

  4. If you kick a hornets' nest, you can expect to get stung on the feet. Which is metaphorically what is happening here. In case that wasn't intuitive.

Am I kicking the hornet's nest with, like, super long legs, or do I have mad hops in this scenario? Don't tell me the nest is low to the ground, that'd be ridiculous.
