It also stars Linda Fiorentino as the sexy animal trainer who is looking to keep the elephant from Murray, and was the second film that Murray and director Howard Franklin collaborated together, the first was Quick Change back in 1990.
-
This is the second film that Brendan Fraser starred in that was based on a Jay Ward cartoon (first was George of the Jungle) and his second Hugh Wilson-directed movie (first was Blast from the Past from earlier in 1999), and needless to say, that didn't work out for him this time around.

This was made in the crappy rom-com days of Matthew McConaughey's career, as he plays a grown man still living in his parents' home, so they call Sarah Jessica Parker to get him to move out, but mishaps ensue and they fall in love. The only thing everyone remembers from this film is the ill sight of Terry Bradshaw baring his butt on camera! Who would want to see a sports legend going full frontal in a rom-com is literally beyond us.

Update time! 2 appearances: Steve Railsback - Barb Wire, and now Lifeforce

That film is the new episode next week guys!

Actors who are underrepresented on the show
SlidePocket replied to Lando's topic in How Did This Get Made?
I want to bring this topic back up because my pick who is not represented enough is Steven Seagal. The films of his they covered so far, is The Glimmer Man. How about On Deadly Ground? Out for Justice? Fire Down Below? or even Half Past Dead? -
Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (1991)
SlidePocket replied to theandrewkelley's topic in Bad Movie Recommendations
The legend of Kevin Costner, king of the Razzies throughout the 90s begins with him not even trying to maintain a British accent and just gave up throughout the course of filming.- 20 replies

Bringing this up thanks to Chelsea Field's emergence as a 3-time HDTGM movie member recently.

This film is bad, as after this bombed and Lethal Weapon 4 came out the year after, I bet it pretty much prompted Joe Pesci to retire from acting altogether, aside from two occasional appearances in "The Good Shepherd" and "Love Ranch". Also, this is the third movie that Danny Glover and Rosanna Arquette starred in together, the first two were "Silverado" and "Flight of the Intruder".

Basic (along with Rollerball the year before) killed John McTiernan's directing career! He hasn't gone back to doing another movie since after going to prison for his involvement in the Anthony Pellicano case.

This film and Striptease later that year marked the beginning of the end of Demi Moore's A-list status where she went on a hiatus to focus on her family. Also, The Juror came out around the same time with an another film with a similar premise about a female jury member probed into swaying others to change a verdict by mysterious figures from 1994 called "Trial by Jury" which had Joanne Whalley, William Hurt and Gabriel Byrne.

The new episode on Perfect is already up today!

This was Nora Ephron's followup directing effort to Sleepless in Seattle, and both this and Lucky Numbers should prove that dark comedies wasn't really her forte.

Hey, how about that random black guy who shows up twice in the movie when he keeps punching John Travolta in the gut over one of the articles regarding someone who was close to that man. I don't know what his problem is with Travolta but since it's been so long since I've last seen the film over three years ago, I couldn't even figure out why!

Since the gang covered "Toys", I want to see them take on another collaboration between Robin Williams and Barry Levinson, the 2006 mishmash mess that is Man of the Year. The whole plot is confusing! It starts out as a comedy where Williams played a political talk show host who decided to run for president and all of a sudden, he wins! Then it turns into a conspiracy thriller involving stuffed ballots among other things, and there wasn't any chemistry between Williams and Laura Linney. It seemed Levinson couldn't make up his mind as to what kind of tone he was going for. Let's kick Man of the Year to the curb during election season!

Another failed family comedy starring Robin Williams and directed by Barry Sonnenfeld folks!

This film actually got good reviews, plus it launched Debra Winger to stardom, she got a Golden Globe nomination for her efforts! And is directed by the guy who would later do "Perfect", also with John Travolta.

I'm surprised no one else other than me and Cameron H are willing to talk about "Perfect". I'm guessing everyone is considering this to be the most forgettable of the bad John Travolta movie canon that was done on the show. While Cameron thought it was boring, the Razzie Movie Guide begs to differ, as it does have unintentionally humorous moments I feel. But who knows, once everyone watches it before the episode goes up, replies will be off the roof!

From Perfect, here is "Masquerade" by Berlin. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9AAtet6BBwA

Perfect is actually listed on the Official Razzie Movie Guide as among their 100 Funniest Bad Movies, and is the third John Travolta film on the book, the others being Battlefield Earth and Staying Alive. It has a bunch of unintentionally humorous moments, the one part that had me laughing the most was Travolta trying to apologize to Jamie Lee Curtis by chasing her around at her aerobics class all while a Boy George impersonator was entertaining the crowd.
-
When I watched "Perfect" one of the scenes I remembered was when John Travolta keeps running across the health club to try and apologize to Jamie Lee Curtis all while a Boy George impersonator was entertaining the guests and that part kept me laughing. Also, Travolta's boss over at Rolling Stone is played by real life founder of the magazine, Jann Wenner in case you want your history checked. And there was this one black guy who kept punching Travolta in the gut after threatening him not to do that article on Curtis. He appeared in like two or three scenes and I wondered what was his problem with Travolta? If anyone sees it, please talk about it!
-
Perfect is the new episode next week! I want everybody to give out your thoughts about the film following your viewing of it before the episode comes on. Clear? Thanks.
-
John Travolta is back with appearance #5! Now that Perfect is coming, he, Nicolas Cage and Sylvester Stallone are the three kings of HDTGM royalty.

If Snow Dogs didn't really kill Cuba Gooding Jr.'s career, then Boat Trip really derailed it even further!

EPISODE 120 - Masters of the Universe
SlidePocket replied to JulyDiaz's topic in How Did This Get Made?
That was not Kirstie Alley as Evil-Lyn, that's Meg Foster of "They Live" fame.
