Whoever decided that Tara Reid would make a convincing scientist needs to get fired like in this one scene she pronounces Newfoundland wrong! And the opening text crawl takes so long, that you literally have to fast forward it to get through the mess.

This film was surprisingly nominated for a bunch of Golden Globes including Best Actor in a Comedy for Arnold Schwarzenegger, Best Actress in a Comedy for Emma Thompson and Best Original Song for "Look What Love Has Done". It lost the former two categories to Hugh Grant in Four Weddings and a Funeral and Jamie Lee Curtis in True Lies respectively, while the latter was beaten out for both the Globes and the Oscar by "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" from The Lion King. Here's the song that I'm posting of which was performed by Patty Smyth: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QyFyJCD05_o

The episode is up right now!

The Molly Ringwald pregnancy movie that Jason was talking about was 1988's "For Keeps", where she and her high school boyfriend accidentally conceive a child and decide to get married in order to raise the newborn.

I'm ashamed to say that I saw this film in theaters when I was a kid and own it on VHS. This was even made by the director of Cool as Ice! Throughout the show, we don't see Dr. Claw's face but in this film he's played by Rupert Everett and we see how he got that claw. Plus this was another embarrassing effort for Matthew Broderick as this was made after Godzilla and way before Deck the Halls.
-
This is definitely the most obscure film that John Travolta made during his career revival as it came out after Pulp Fiction and Get Shorty and way before Broken Arrow and Face Off etc.
-
This is the Devil's Advocate reunion between Keanu Reeves and Charlize Theron we've been waiting for, and this remake of an obscure film from 1968 comes off as so silly, that it's unintentionally funny. It's also included in the Official Razzie Movie Guide as among the 100 Funniest Bad Movies of All Time.

Junior is episode 100 and I'm so happy you guys are finally covering it based on how a male scientist who becomes pregnant managed to get made! Now since the minisode just came out today, I wonder what other day the Junior episode will come up?
-
This movie is now our 100th episode!
-
Arnold Schwarzenegger makes his 3rd entry to the show thanks to Junior! Also Danny DeVito appears for the 2nd time with Junior, his first since Deck the Halls!
-
This was one of the few non-My Girl movies that Anna Chlumsky starred in along with Gold Diggers: The Secret of Bear Mountain, where after those films underwhelmed moviegoers, took time off to focus on her education, before coming back all of a sudden with her role on Veep.
-
No minisode today! Looks like there isn't going to be a holiday movie this year.
-
Since next week is episode 100, this means a Christmas movie has got to be their main pick! Guesses guys?
-
This also happens to be the first teamup of Jason Patric and Jami Gertz, whom the next year would work together again on The Lost Boys! It was also Patric's film debut as well.

Episode 99 — A View To a Kill: LIVE
SlidePocket replied to JulyDiaz's topic in How Did This Get Made?
Excluding the 1967 Casino Royale which has a rating of 27%, A View to a Kill is the lowest-rated official 007 movie on Rotten Tomatoes with a 36% rating. It was also the first Bond film to get a Razzie nomination, which was Worst Actress for Tanya Roberts, who lost to Linda Blair for Night Patrol, Savage Island and Savage Streets. -
This came out a few months after the Challenger disaster, and that could be the reason why Space Camp was not a box office success. It even has Lea Thompson, Kelly Preston, Kate Capshaw, Tate Donovan and a young Joaquin Phoenix (then known as Leaf)!
-
Sorry, but the film has a 71% "fresh" rating on Rotten Tomatoes, while 88% of users liked it.
-
You meant Jennifer Tilly.

I'm hoping there's going to be one after A View to a Kill and before Xanadu, just so that there can't be four live episodes in a row (coupled with Rhinestone and LOL).
-
Prince Caspian (Ben Barnes) playing a Hispanic in this movie? That's whitewashing!

It's funny you say that, but A View to a Kill is actually the lowest-rated official 007 movie on Rotten Tomatoes (excluding the 1967 Casino Royale), with a rating of 36%.

Some fun facts about Xanadu according to IMDb: Olivia Newton-John turned down Valerie Perrine's role in Can't Stop the Music to star in this movie. John Travolta turned down the role of Sonny Malone. Andy Gibb was originally cast in the part, but dropped out at the last minute and Michael Beck took over his place.

Some fun facts about A View to a Kill according to IMDb: David Bowie and Rutger Hauer were offered to play Max Zorin. Bo Derek was considered for the role of Stacy Sutton. Tanya Roberts got the part after Albert Broccoli saw her in The Beastmaster. Christopher Walken became the first Academy Award-winning actor to star in a Bond film. Other actors who appeared in 007 movies after winning the Oscar are Halle Berry in Die Another Day, and Javier Bardem in Skyfall.

The minisode has just been delayed, probably due to the Thanksgiving holiday.
