A movie from 2008 that has Hugh Jackman, Ewan McGregor and Michelle Williams in it seems to be a can't-miss option, right? Wrong! Deception is an awful potboiler that contains bad plot twists, silly dialogue and even worse writing. It has a 14% on Rotten Tomatoes, and the film's director (Marcel Langenegger) was so dismayed by the reception for this, that he never made another Hollywood film again. The trailer if you would like to see: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vPSCMaIluGc

The director of this movie, Andrew Sipes, never made another Hollywood feature after Fair Game crashed and burned at the box office. Prior to this film, Sipes wrote scripts for television shows such as Simon & Simon, The Equalizer, Spenser: For Hire and Street Justice. The experience of seeing this film getting crucified by critics and audiences probably led Sipes to retire from the Hollywood elite.

We got another Razzie nominee on our hands! This film was nominated for three trophies, all for Cindy Crawford. It earned nods for Worst Actress, Worst New Star and Worst Screen Couple for Crawford and William Baldwin, but lost in all these categories to Showgirls, which dominated that year. I looked into the film's IMDb trivia page where I later posted it onto its Wikipedia page, that apparently Fair Game underwent some reshoots and reedits, like that Elizabeth Pena was originally playing Salma Hayek's character, but when test audiences thought that she didn't seem right for the role, she got fired and Hayek signed on to replace her. Another fact is that Dan Hedaya had a bigger part in the original version, but was reduced to just one scene earlier in the movie, and Hedaya eventually took his name off the credits based on that result.
-
And Salma Hayek should make her triumphant return to the show, based on her appearances in Wild Wild West and Fair Game.

For the title Crow 3, you were thinking of "The Crow: Salvation", as that was the one with Kirsten Dunst and it was the first of the series to go straight to video. "Wicked Prayer" was part 4.

John Woo didn't direct "Hard Rain", that was Mikael Salomon. It was also a box office failure, as it made just $19 million over a budget of $70 million!

The Return of Swamp Thing (1989)
SlidePocket replied to TheGreenMalice's topic in Bad Movie Recommendations
This film was also directed by Jim Wynorski, also known for making Chopping Mall and many other B-features. It also won Heather Locklear a Razzie for Worst Actress for her work in this movie. -
I forgot Jennifer Garner too! Add her to the 2-timers club for her appearances in The Odd Life of Timothy Green and Daredevil.

This film was one of the first attempts to get Anthony Michael Hall to break away from being typecast as the scrawny nerd in the Brat Pack movies by bulking up to add a couple of pounds of muscle by being in this movie and then as Winona Ryder's evil boyfriend in Edward Scissorhands. And when that didn't work out, he then returned to his roots by playing Bill Gates in the TV movie Pirates of Silicon Valley. What a difference in a few short years.

You can now add Ben Affleck to the 3-timers club: Gigli, Reindeer Games and now Daredevil.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation (1994)
SlidePocket replied to Dylanbydesign's topic in Bad Movie Recommendations
Was filmed in 1994, got a limited release the next year as "Return of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre". It wasn't until both Renee Zellweger and Matthew McConaughey gained exposure for their roles in "Jerry Maguire" and "A Time to Kill" that the film's studio tried to capitalize on their newfound fame by rereleasing it as "Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation" in 1997, and I think both of them wish they should've never done that.- 27 replies

I love it that the Razzies nominated Arnold for this film for Worst Actor as the real Adam, Worst Supporting Actor for playing his clone and Worst Screen Couple for playing opposite himself, but they later ended up losing them all to Battlefield Earth.

I think that this movie and later Lost in Space tried to make a movie star out of Matt LeBlanc during the heyday of Friends, and unfortunately neither didn't do that well with audiences or reviewers. This film even got a few Razzie nominations, including Worst Picture, Worst Screenplay and Worst Screen Couple for LeBlanc and Ed, but it lost these categories to Striptease, which dominated that year. Ed even has a 0% on Rotten Tomatoes and is on the IMDb Bottom 100 list.

When you look at this film in 1997, you thought that some big names like Robin Williams, Billy Crystal, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Nastassja Kinski, and being directed by Ivan Reitman would be a big hit, plus it was also a remake of French film by Francis Veber. Unfortunately, this turned out to be a crushing blow for everyone involved as Fathers' Day failed to bring back even a third of its $85 million budget and was poorly received by critics. It even got a Razzie nomination for Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Worst Supporting Actress, but luckily she lost that year to Alicia Silverstone for Batman and Robin. And I also wanted to point out that Mel Gibson even had an uncredited cameo as a tattoo artist, but I don't think he would even want to talk about his existence in this film.

It's confirmed from the reply that I posted on the Facebook page that the new mini-episode is going to be up tonight! Let's see what horror movie they have chosen this year.
-
Plus you get to see Alyssa Milano in one of the few theatrical appearances she did post-"Who's the Boss" and pre-"Charmed", as well as William Petersen pre-"CSI" and Amy Brenneman pre-"Judging Amy".
-
My favorite part from this movie is when Mark Wahlberg carves his chest with the phrase "Nicole 4 Eva" just to get her back!
-
This film was also directed by Richard Benjamin, who also has his fair share of crappy stuff like Milk Money, City Heat, Mrs. Winterbourne, Made in America and My Stepmother is an Alien, plus he also costars in the film playing Lisa Kudrow's father! Another interesting thing about Marci X is that the movie was filmed in 2000, but didn't come out for another three years, and the rating for the film on IMDb is a 2.6 out of 10, I mean that's nearly Bottom 100 level!

Action film based on the popular TV show from 1968 to 1973. Like the series, Claire Danes, Omar Epps and Giovanni Ribisi played troubled youths who were recruited by the police to stop crime. This film wasn't well received by critics or fans of the show, as it became a box office flop, got a 4% on Rotten Tomatoes and was nominated for a Razzie for Worst Screenplay, but lost to another TV-to-movie adaptation in Wild Wild West! is anybody ever familiar with the film or TV show out there?

Garry Marshall didn't direct Congo, that was Frank Marshall, he also did Arachnophobia, Alive and Eight Below.
-
Robin Williams and Bruce Campbell have to be added to this list because of their two appearances, Williams with Old Dogs and Toys, and Campbell with Spider-Man 3 and Congo.
-
Now with Congo getting reviewed next week, this one has to be looked at as this contains a few crazy moments, most notably when a team of soldiers were killed by a bunch of arrows and were brought back to the present, and suddenly their grenades destroyed the time machine even though they weren't supposed to bring any modern weapons to medieval France! What is it with that?

I saw this movie based on the Oscar nomination it received for Best Visual Effects, and they are pretty amazing, but the story and the acting in Hollow Man was so crappy.
-
I can't wait to see their thoughts about Congo! I first remembered this movie when my father recorded this movie on VHS when it aired on Pay-Per-View around late 1995 or early 1996 as a triple feature along with The Santa Clause and Casper. I didn't see this again until I bought it on VHS and watched it in all its very weird glory. Now that it was the very first Michael Crichton adaptation to be put on this show, I wonder if wee can see some others like The Lost World, Sphere, The 13th Warrior or Timeline because those were pretty terrible.

Hey Shannon, now that Toys is going to be covered this Tuesday, can you add Robin Williams to the 2-timers club based on his appearances in both this movie and Old Dogs?
