Episode 135 β Ute of the Butte
tortoisebeats replied to JulyDiaz's topic in improv4humans with Matt Besser
I love how they are bringing up stuff she likes in real life to actually link it to Silence of the Lamb scenes. Random books, movies, and Prince Edward Island. -
Recommendation episodes for new listeners.
tortoisebeats replied to Change Your eBay Password's topic in Comedy Bang Bang
It depends on what your friends like. I've been catering the episodes I recommend to what they like. For my friend that is a community fan I recommended the Gillian Jacobs episodes and the one Alison Brie episode. Then I told them to span outward to Andy Daly/ PFT episodes. For my friend that is really into musicals, I recommended "two thumbs and not much else" episode and "a worthy uhhh" (for weird theatricality if James Adomian). Then I recommended expanding outwards to Adomian/PFT -

Benny Schwazz has a show at the UCB in LA called Snowpants. He brings on famous folks who have never done improv and veteran UCB people. http://losangeles.ucbtheatre.com/shows/view/2958 I've seen pictures on Instagram with Blake Griffin (Clippers, NBA) and Craig Ferguson [ Justin Long, Michael C Hall (Dexter), JJ Abrams, Craig Ferguson, and the craziest get of all Jane Fonda. From what I understand a lot of people on the show he gets to know secondhand and really loves bringing new people on so who knows who else will be there.

Agreed! I feel like people have forgotten how much shit/hate that Harris Wittels got. He deserved a small amount of it because of how painful his stuff is, but we otherwise couldn't have gotten Farts and Procreation 1 or maybe even U Talkin U2 2 Me Without Scott trying out new stuff and pairings we wouldn't have gotten Garry Marshall/Gilly, Werner Hertz/Benny Schwazz, Wompler/Listler/Barteromo, the Calvins Twins, etc. I don't care if every episode "isn't gold" because I feel that each episode has at least led to brand new collaborations/friendships/laughs.

You made this post halfway through the episode? What's the deal with this trend of commenters not finishing episodes before talking them down? That said, the episode gets a bunch quicker about 1 hour through.

This is amazing. I love their friendship on screen and off screen and on podcast and etc.

List of Scott's Frequently Repeated Phrases

You and I have never met before. Is this your card? -
Anal-retentive Gilly fan here. Friends Without Words is actually an episode that has Traci who is a college student who spent 8 months of her junior year abroad in Italy (Friends Without Words @ 37:45-ish). She didn't have a speech impediment but did have a vocal fry. Traci Rearden seems like a completely different person that is introduced in A Spiritual Journey from the beginning of that episode.

Right, so now that you have the personal attack out of the way, can you give me a timestamp of when he says this? -

Merch for the ADPPP?
tortoisebeats replied to tortoisebeats's topic in The Andy Daly Podcast Pilot Project
Pretty easy, a German style hiking/travel backpack. -
I am hopefully not the only one that loves this podcast to death; it might just be the most incredible collaboration of comic minds in a long time. All that said, I would love to buy something/anything with the ADPPP logo on it. A pint glass or even a button would be incredible. Just something solid to comemerate such a wonderful job done by everyone at Earwolf and everyone that participated.

I know this is from the sponsors section but I love it especially after the ADPPP episode. I'll never see you at the _______ I'm also find of store DOT earwolf DOT com! -
I see you're working your way through CBB. Adam Scott's other appearances are also incredible. Scott and Mr Scott + random characters or Harris is great. I do wish we could hear Mr Scott with real characters again outside of Farts and Pro episodes

Will there be new seasons?
tortoisebeats replied to johnnycanuck21's topic in The Andy Daly Podcast Pilot Project
Answer from Andy on reddit [it's hard to say. I was able to do these 8 bc I had a pocket of time where I was contractually prevented from doing much else! That may well happen again. Lord knows it was fun. The annoying answer is I just don't know.] -

I get it, but this is probably one of the few times I would personally get a chance to communicate with what I consider (with PFT / Adomian) the greatest comedians to have entered my life through podcasts. Especially since I don't think I will ever get a chance to visit LA / random comedy shows when they swing by. -
Rank The Pilots

I'm on my phone but I wanted to point out I can already see how people are going to have a huge variance to their favorites. Hopefully I can edit this when I get off work That said I had a similar mix to yours but I couldn't separate out dalton, august, and patrick for #1. Dalton - PFT was a perfect city slickin counter to all the country madness. August Lindt - HR Geiger literally came out of nowhere to me and dominated the podcast with cooking and fear of women. PFT and Besser were in amazing form as well when they chipped in on losing the German accent. Patrick McMahon - PFT as the Monsignor was perfect with his Irish accent and had a perfect contrast with Scott's Oyrish accent. I wasn't expecting the limerick off at all and the sponsors' limerick sealed the deal for me. #4 Wolfman Hotdog- holds up after a few more listens. Ahi is a tremendous character and his "nyeoh"s left me dying in laughter. #5 Bill Carter had some great moments especially with Jesse Ventura but the pacing was somewhat slow. #6 Don DiMelo was amazing as always but I realized that without a disgusted counter point like Scott, I feel too grossed out. Winkler would've fit that role but she was really womping it up #7 Hail Satan had too few other characters so I couldn't latch on. I especially liked the other Chip played by Matt I think but he died so quickly. Carol Channing at the end was too weird for me. Lastly for some reason I couldn't get behind Danny Mahoney. I did like the bit with singing songs but the characters were too similar to me before fake Paula Deen. -

I agree. My favorite episodes are, to use a term from Benny Schwaz, "two straightmen". One absurdly crazy character vs Scott+someone else trying to nail them down. Best examples are Adam Scott /Alan Rickman, Benny Schwaz / Werner Hertz, and of course Zouks and Daly. -
It was a live episode from the most recent tour. PFT as ghost of Richard Harrow
-
One of the first "plugs in the break before the end" that threw me off. Adam Scott was incredible on that episode. What is it about these last few months? PFT killed every single night of the Live Tour and then the best of/Gilly episode. Andy Daly with his PPP and the last epic episode. Now Adomian is crushing it. I can't wait to hear Tom Leykis again.
