  1. I hadn't seen or thought about this movie for 30 years., but it all suddenly came back to me and I decided to rewatch it this year.

This is the story of a troubled young boy (Elliot from ET) and his imaginary friend running away from KGB agents who are trying to recover stolen plans hidden in an Atari video game cart.

It's loaded with weird subtext, hilariously dated and completely inappropriate for children.

    I couldn't recommend it more, it's brilliant.

  2. Being a fan of this movie since I was a kid, I didn't think there was anything about it I hadn't already seen or understood. However, when I watched it on Netflix recently, I saw two things that I had never noticed before. The first is that the police are terrible. They literally ignore and dismiss the bizarre disappearance of 4 neighborhood kids and the insane behavior of their parents.

The second is, well, maybe I've spent too much time analyzing it, but here is the final product of my over active brain:

  3. This post has a soundtrack:

Imagine a world where magic, barbarians, amazons, and ninjas are all real. Now imagine that world populated only by porn stars and circus freaks. This is the world our film presents. It has nothing to do with Deathstalker 1, 3, or 4, nor is it any kind of sequel to Barbarian Queen, even though it uses a lot of the same footage. It doesn't even have any titans in it. With great pleasure, I submit for your consideration my favorite sword and sorcery epic/cash grab:

DEATHSTALKER 2: DUEL OF THE TITANS

Directed by Jim Wynorski (94 directorial credits including such classics as Dinocrock vs. Supergator, The Da Vinci Coed, and The Bare Wench Project 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5)

Produced by Frank K. Issac (Beastmaster, Barbarian Queen), Héctor Olivera (The Warrior and the Sorceress, Deathstalker), and Roger Fucking Corman.
