You're right. That was probably a little unfair. What I should have said was - it sounded to me like there were a few moments that made Scott a little uncomfortable. But what do I know? Maybe he was very comfortable

My read on it was that there were a couple of instances where Gilbert started up on kind of misogynist bits and Scott maneuvered the conversation away from them each time. I definitely remember him laughing uproariously at one of Atamaniuk's chauvinistic jokes while in character as Trump.

Overall, I wouldn't expect anything less than off color humor from the guy who popularized the aristocrats, Gilbert is a legend and was truly hilarious on this ep. I guess some people thought his laughter this was over the top but I was happy to see him enjoying Scott's quips so much.

  2. Just caught up on the episodes of Hey Gang and I encourage anybody who hasn't listened yet to check them out on soundcloud. There's a great one where Howard theater hops between The Martian, Peanuts, and Spectre with his AMC card. Also thoroughly enjoyed his journey to find Black Friday.

  3. I've only heard Whitney Cummings interviewed a couple of times before, but the "ugh alt comedy people don't like me because of elitism" thing has always been just about the first thing to come up. It's a really weird chip to have on your shoulder if you always say "alt" as if you're spitting on the floo, and want nothing to do with that end of things. I don't get it.

Seems like a gross misread of the situation to think shes got a chip on her shoulder. It seems like a legitimate concern that the creator of 2 broke girls would worry that her more mainstream brand of comedy wouldn't translate to the 'alt comedy' crowd. I don't fault her for voicing that. They really are 2 different worlds. All said and done, she fit in very well and once things got rolling she was as quick and funny as you'd want a guest to be.

In terms of her steamrolling Gemberlings character, take that issue up with Scott since he piled on the Making a Muderer questions JUST as much as Whitney did. Scott was unquestionably enjoying her derailment and made Gemberling roll with it.

Not a lot of "mainstreamers" would work on the show as well as she did. Can you imagine Chuck Lorre or Chelsea Handler on cbb? I can't.

In this part, Scott said that Middleditch would be on again, so it must be Kid Detectives, which also surprised me. Also, Is Y'all My Daddy was mentioned by Scott as an honorable mention.

Could be a bonus clip of the call to China! I still have hope.

Edit: I was wrong! It was Kid Detectives! Hope is dead!

  5. Well deserved bonus clip of long islands finest intern.

Listen, whatever you guys do, don't listen to the song at the end while scrolling through the episode pictures. There's nothing to gain there emotionally. I tried.
