I don't know about you, but I think that this 20% was officially reached. Great first week for the EFTSG. I will never touch my food the same way ever again.

Episode 25 — Scott Aukerman and Jeff Ullrich, Our Business Associates
hugLife replied to agata's topic in Hollywood Handbook
Hey y'all, just took a few days off from the forum...and apparently every moderator and admin at Earwolf is all up in here now. Guys, HH is counterculture, not something that "the man" is supposed to be a part of. It isn't "Hollywood Themanbook". On a side note, does this mean that HH will finally get squarespace and bonobos ads again? -

Umm....I think that the Mikes really were testing us! I looked up the origin of "taste" on dictionary.com and this is what I found: Origin: 1250-1300 ;(v.) Middle English tasten to touch, taste < Old French taster to touch, explore by touching (Middle French: to touch, taste); cognate with Italian tastare, Provençal, Old Spanish tastar < ?;(noun) Middle English tast sense of touch, a trying, tasting < OldFrench, derivative of taster In case all of that cryptic language jargon escaped you, taste....is derived from the word touch.... wow. Is it even really its own sense? It would be foolish for me to believe that the Mikes didn't see if we would call them out on this. I need a moment to digest this, but please feel free to continue the discussion while I compose myself over here.

Episode 126 — Their Name Is Korn
hugLife replied to JulyDiaz's topic in improv4humans with Matt Besser
Thanks again Matt for another music recommendation! These types of shows are great because they introduce me to music that I should have already known about (but didn't), and the scenes that come out of them are always hilarious. -
Hey CORPSEFUCKER SHITLORD (do you prefer to go by just CORPSEFUCKER?), The joke about Veggie Tales was fine, as there are no rules, but you didn't really tell any Tasty Tales either. We only have 6 more days to finish 20%, and although Mike² make it seem easy (they are professionals), it would be in poor...taste... if we only tried to make each other giggle without trying to promote discussion. ...but there are no rules.
-
Well, I am actually more vegan than vegetarian (eggs are my only exception). It is troubling to me that you think that all vegetarians do is eat fake meat. I don't eat any tofurkey, smart dogs, or morning star burgers... I just cook up tasty vegetables. I am somewhat of a cook, so taste is extremely important to me. I make a lot of my meals using only the freshest ingredients because they are both healthy, and nutritious, and delicious, and...tasty. I eat beans, lentils, sweet potatoes, regular potatoes, tomatoes, onions, zucchinis, brussels sprouts, broccoli, kale, green beans, garlic, and hot peppers as features in many dishes... I assure you that your taste...buds would certainly be dancing in your mouth. I would like to broaden this topic of taste out a bit if I may. Unfortunately, many people say that health food tastes like dirt. Is the flavor of dirt inherently untasty? If so, why is the outermost layer of the Earth referred to as the "crust"? Should pie crusts and pizza crusts have more soil in them?

Don't worry, after hearing the "Topics Grannies" very prominent shout out, I took it upon myself to email Mike² on behalf of the Earwolf Forum Topics Study Group to let them know that they were pretty much obligated to give us a shout out as well. As for pictures on cakes, I guess I should have been more specific when I mentioned that before, because I was actually referring to statues, and how they are living (more like un-living) pictures in our daily lives. These 3D pictures often have a coppery flavor that is reminiscent of tasting blood in your mouth (something I assume that everyone deals with as frequently as I do). Now something that may come to be with the advancements of technology are 3D printers that make foods. They could print out all kinds of tasty delights from cakes to doughnuts. I mean, we could probably choose whatever flavor we wanted in anything that we printed. I guess then you would have the ability to make a cake taste like a picture...only this time it really will be edible. Now that is a future that I am looking forward to.

I found a really cool youtube channel (askapimp), and it was a series of video tutorials and advice for people trying to learn from pimps in Dallas, Texas. In this one a pimp answers if he respects women or not and why: -
So, the sense of taste was left out, and in my personal opinion, Mishow & Miblack left it out because it is the hardest to discuss. Just for clarity, they did not do this because they are lazy; they left it for us as a challenge. For us to prove ourselves and earn our stripes. Don't let it leave a bad...taste...in your mouth. Taste can be literal or figurative. Pictures can look tasty even though they are not edible. Things can smell tasty and really be gross. Looking as a significant other can make your mouth salivate as if you were a hungry dog. You aren't going to eat your significant other (no, not a small bite either). This being said, what is "taste" really? Is it just the literal and tangible input that we receive through our tongue? Or, is it the sense that is a connection to every other one. Pavlov proved that hearing can make a dog think of food. Smell is a large part of taste. Seeing food is obviously something that makes someone imagine its flavor. And of course, who hasn't been stimulated before from caressing a doughnut.

These guys could be international dodgeball champions if that existed. The clip is long, but if you start at 49 seconds, you could get the point in about a minute. This is a current fad in Spain, and although it doesn't have any speaking in it, I kind of just want to hear Matt's reaction to it because it would be funny. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lSRsPmrzjfc -
You know, you are right. They need to do 2 shows a week, or perhaps, make the show twice as long since it is one of the shortest on Earwolf. They also need to publicly promote our study group in here because, let's face it, we are only doing it because they gave us that great idea.

Episode 27 — Why You Don’t Know What You Look Like
hugLife replied to JulyDiaz's topic in The Cracked Podcast
True, but so few of the people getting tattoos are doing things like that. I feel like they were loosely talking about hipsters without saying it, but I think that their conclusion was really narrow. Even the House example was only to validate how stupid tattoos are, but not all people get them for other people to see, and some people genuinely like that type of artwork. I guess I just hate the moments when they deviate from facts to talk about personal opinions because it makes them sound dumb... like Jack talking about how Dolly Parton looks like the weirdest person alive now as if that had to be true... Joan Rivers? Those moments annoy me and take away from all the cool things that they present. -
No need for formalities... Three malities will do just fine.

Revision suggestion- I don't need formalities; three will do just fine. -
Your selflessness is nearly overwhelming. I mean, to change your entire name as a gesture of good faith was something that I hadn't even imagined that you would do. Just because of that, I will try one of your sedated fish balls (isn't that what they are), even though we both know that I would willingly chain myself down for the discussion. It will be hard for me to drink the punch though knowing that it is spiked, but I guess I would have already committed to having the full experience by that point. I will bring some untainted homemade hummus and some pitas because I don't want to make something that will steal the spotlight of your fish dish. I can't wait for our next topic! but I will
-
Well, I don't know if meat sedatives are the best option, although they certainly are an option. I don't eat meat so I can have a clear analytical mind for each week's Topic, but that is just me. I would recommend uppers, and in something like a tasty punch. That way everyone would try it, and then they would willingly chain themselves together. Now that is the attitude needed to finish that Golden 20. Sidenote, I have realized that you have kind of stolen some of my Tupac thunder in here. I guess that Tupac is big enough to share, and you did make it a pun directly related to Topics (clever), but you seem like a worthy person to share a pun-theme with... so I will forgive this minor, but still impactful, transgression for the sake of our new group.

Buzzkill Alert: I was totally thinking "WHOA" like errybody when I saw who was in this episode.... ...and then I listened to it... This is like that time when that Titan boat was pretending like it didn't get hurt from the ice it floated into. HH is going to join the Heart of the Ocean soon -
Episode 27 — Why You Don’t Know What You Look Like
hugLife replied to JulyDiaz's topic in The Cracked Podcast
There were a lot of generalizations about tattoos, and I think that the argument would have been different if one person had even 1. I'm not saying that many people get them because of what other people think, but it isn't very scientific to say that this is the case for every of the tens of thousands of people with tattoos these days. -
My group chains ourselves to one another until we get the 20%. There are no exceptions for hunger, thirst, or potty breaks. We are allowed to take as much time as we like discussing, jokes included, but the chains shall not be removed until the 20 has been completed. But that is just my group.

Here is my plan in steps: 1. Mike and Mike talk about a Topic 2. We write about the topic in these forums 3. We comment on each others comments 4. We learn that life is not just about a bunch of issues, but that everything is kind of...topical

If the ultimate rule is that there are no rules than he was entitled to feel angry, but should have let it go. He kind of bent the rules this episode and he should bring Paul back on so he can apologize for breaking the stoic Topics parameters.
