To use a tired cliche, I don't want to really tell you about 1994's "The Club" - it's best that you experience it for yourself. But here's the synopsis from IMDB:
Time stops at midnight at the Senior Prom for five students, one murderous counselor, and John. They must find the courage to face themselves or, when time starts again, they may find that they are joining John's Club. All you have to do is commit murder... or suicide.
I found this movie cruising Netflix, so it's available there, and boy am I glad I did.
Do you want to see the future Executive Producer of Fringe doing an insane impression of Beetlejuice/Jack Nicholson/Ben Stiller as Tom Cruise? How about Scut Farkus from "A Christmas Story" turning into a demon mid-coitus? Also featuring Sons of Anarchy's Kim Coates in a tour-de-force performance and a plot that makes little to no sense.
You may be thinking that it sounds like a typical 90s teen horror flick. But trust me, it is so much more. It's a strange brew of trying to be seriously scary but also funny... but fails on both levels.
Here's the trailer. I think this movie would be absolutely awesome for HDTGM.
