    Episode 182.5 — 5/30/14 TWO CHARTED 121

Armen was that shaken? What a crap day for him, hopefully he has put it behind him. I would like to think that Who Charted will have him as a guest, get him to slay the dragon and put a positive spin on all this. Or maybe just a quick update from time-to-time. The negative stuff has gotten more traction, but I think there is enough interest in Armen to warrant those updates. thanks!
  4. Caught this on an old Parks & Rec episode, Leslie Knope asks the "Scott" (not to be confused with Scott), why he was charmed with a park designer.

    Episode 182.5 — 5/30/14 TWO CHARTED 121

All this makes me appreciate the delicate balance of chemistry it takes to have a successful podcast. If I remember correctly they brought in April to fill in for Kulap, and the dialog between Howard and April was off. It just didn't have that friendly rapport. I don't think Howard is going to be too pleased with those of us who have voiced a complaint about Armen.

Episode 182 — Gandalf Vs. Snape

I'm in the hospital right now, so this post might be a mess. Besser likes Armen, and your can tell, he's just trying to help Armen to move the show along. I like Armen, he seems like a sweet guy, but he has trouble finishing his thoughts. He seems like he starts off with a funny thought, then snuffs it out. I want to hear that thought.

Please don't get me wrong, I like Armen. I remember his convenience store character from the Sarah Silverman Show, but his podcast personality is so soft-spoken and slow moving. Come on Armen, for me, romp on the gas once in a while, swing for the cheap seats. I feel bad for being critical, I'm sure part of this is my natural tendency to compare Armen to HK. I'll crawl back in my hole now.

    Episode 194.5 — Sklarbro County 99

Reporting from Florida: The stories from Pinellas Park (the woman trashing McD's) and the mannequin that was actually a deceased woman, both occurred in Pinellas County. The story of the suicide, which was originally thought to be an April Fools prank. Well there is more to the story. Apparently the building is close to downtown St Pete, and they do see lots of things once the bars close for the evening. The man who disposed of the body is distraught, and the residents of the building are trying to get him his job back, and there are no charges pending. ******************************************************************************************************************** Benjamin, 61, looked onto the patio and saw a shape on the ground. It looked to him like a mannequin. An April Fools' Day joke, he concluded, and went back to work. Two hours later, another employee of the senior housing complex at 440 Fourth Ave. N told Benjamin about the shape on the patio. It was just a prank, Benjamin assured her. When a woman and her teen son came by to deliver the Tampa Bay Times, Benjamin asked the boy to help him move the mannequin into a Dumpster. He grabbed the shoes and the teen clasped a handful of clothes, which was topped with a ball of whitish-gray hair. It weighed almost nothing, Benjamin noted, as they heaved it into the trash. Benjamin saw what looked like blood, but he thought it was fake. Hours later, other workers at the complex discovered that the shape in the Dumpster was not a mannequin, but a 96-year-old resident of the complex who had jumped 16 stories to her death sometime during the night. They called Benjamin, whose shift had ended by then, and told him to come back. He was stunned when he was told that it was a person. "It's all I've thought about all day," Benjamin told a Times reporter at his home Wednesday evening. "I haven't slept all day." Benjamin said the woman's face looked rubbery and formless, like a Halloween mask discarded on the ground. The bars had let out only an hour or so prior and he figured someone out for April Fools' Day had tossed it onto the property. "I'm telling you, I swear to God, the face looked like a rubber mask," he said as he sat on his couch stroking his aging Yorkshire terrier on his lap. "If I thought for one instant it was a real person I would have called the police, my manager, everyone I could think of." Police said they believe Benjamin honestly thought he saw a mannequin. They plan no criminal charges. "Because of the height the woman fell it actually might have caused her features to be distorted, and possibly not look human to the unsuspecting eye," said St. Petersburg police spokesman Mike Puetz. However, the complex fired Benjamin. "Now I have to go to the unemployment office," he said. Police said the woman had left a suicide note. She then placed a step stool beside a 16th-floor window and jumped. The woman's name was not released, as authorities were trying to locate family members. Residents at the complex said she was from England. She left there after World War II, but her accent remained intact, they said. She was a bright woman who read a lot, they said, and had the mental acuity of a 50 year old. The complex's volunteer librarian, Nancy Sanborn, 74, called the woman "refined," and added that "the last time I was with her in the library she was upbeat."

    Episode 175 — TUTSTEP

I thought when it came to most downloaded woman, it was Danni Ashe? Or so she always proclaimed. On a different note, has the music chart changed at all this year? Don't get me wrong, I'm digging Howard's klezmer, but how about a top 5 summer drinks, or summer activities... Matty B did a solid job on the whooch, and should be back in the 'wolf soon!

Episode 191 — Love Will Conquer Balls

First off, love the Sklars! Reporting in from FLA, got to add a couple cents to the Bernie Ecclestone F1 supremo discussion. I follow F1, and there was a time a couple decades ago when F1 had V12 engines, followed by a long period of 10 cylinder engines. The engines were ear splitting screaming, and sounded like they were on the verge of disintegration. For those folks that are not fans, you wouldn't understand. Then a few year back was the switch to V8's. The engines were still loud, but not the screamers of yesteryear. This year the switch was made to 6 cylinder turbos, and fans are not pleased. Important word there is "fans." In a few years the sport has gone from screaming engines to what sounds like, in comparison, vacuum cleaners. Bernie's statement about how he doesn't like the new engine sound & format, is really in a big part his own fault. F1 wanted to get more engine manufacturers into F1, but those manufacturers didn't want to build engines that didn't have a comparable real world use. So the push went from V10, V8, and now 6. Last year Bernie and the teams visited engine production facilities to hear the new engines, because of the concern of lack of engine noise. They all complained (including Bernie) that the engine noise was going to be a problem. Remember this is Bernie's push, he could also have stopped it. He himself complained about his own project. In F1 circles, it is seen that Bernie has gotten old, and is losing his grip mentally. (to be fair, he is also responsible for bringing success to F1 for the last three decades) Here is a video of what the problem is with F1. It is video shot by the same guy, using the same camera, from the same seat in Melbourne Australia it begins with the V8s of 2013 then shifts to the V6 turbos of 2014 and a shot of Bernie after his mugging: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1333608/Bernie-Ecclestone-reveals-black-eye-200k-mugging-Fabiana-Flosi.html Green Grass & High Tides Forever!
