I don't think there was any beef. They just wanted to do it on their own. But now I kinda miss getting new Hooray Show episodes every Wednesday.

The "Philly Guys" bit is starting to get really old and annoying.

I may try again at some point. I didn't watch the movies for either of them because I never know when HDTGM episodes come out anymore. If I had already watched the movies beforehand, I would've listened to them all the way through.

I know its considered heresy to criticize a podcast on the Earwolf forums... but maybe no episode at all would've been better than releasing 2 in a row that were recorded with a phone. Because as far as I'm concerned, there hasn't been an episode of HDTGM since the Sharknado 3 episode, because even though I tried, I could not get through these garbage recordings.

Okay, I figured this out. I had auto-renewal turned off, but when I turned it back on, it shows that the next payment will be on 9/24/15 instead of the trial ending 8/24/15. So, the CBB code did work for the free month. Video would be awesome. That's what's so great about the NNF Players' Club. The extra episode AND video of both.

My Howl account still shows that my trial expires after one week, even though I used the promo code CBB on checkout for the month-long trial. What's up with that?

Yeah, if you don't want to get Howl and don't want to lose the Whooch archives, start downloading ASAP. And make sure you have about 15 GB of hard drive space.

The new episodes are still free, so I recommend downloading the old ones while you still can instead of worrying about what people say in the forums....

Did anybody else enter the code CBB on checkout at Howl.fm? Maybe its just me, but for me, it did NOT expand the week trial to a month trial.

I think a lot of people are sold on Howl just for the exclusive content. But re-gaining access to content that's been free for the past 6 years is what's really upsetting everyone. We've always been able to skip through the ads, so ad-free is not a real selling point, especially since some of us like the ads.

I listen to most of my podcasts on a computer. I don't really need an app. But putting out an app that is only on iOS does feel like a huge middle finger to Android users.

Yeah, I don't understand how shutting off the archives will bring in new listeners. Who's going to listen to Womp it Up if they can't go back and listen to Wompler and Listler on Comedy Bang Bang? And then there's the Andy Dalyverse. If Jason Mantzoukas is co-hosting, he'll definitely reference an older episode that would be behind paywall. I like the idea of premium exclusive content. I like the idea of ad-free podcasts. I don't like the idea of losing access to content that was available for free for so long.

They still have the rights to the Hooray Show episodes before it went independent.

Gee, this Howl app sounds interesting. Oh, but its only on iOS and neglects half of all phone users.
