  1. Not usually a fan of the term "spiritual successor" but the shoe does fit...
  2. May I add, unlike Alec Baldwin's cheap phone all the jokes and characters were top-notch? (Kind of shocked that I don't see anyone else saying this in the iTunes reviews, where the true fans at?)

EPISODE 120 — Break In By NightFall

I'm going to guess right now... no?
  4. It also made my heart skip a beat when Eban snuck half a motif from the PFT fanfare into his pianistic noodling...
  5. Man, I was working really hard on keeping my expectations from getting too big, telling myself "I know you miss the Tompkast, but this is a very different format, and while anything made by PFT is going to be gold it isn't necessarily going to fill that Tompkast shaped hole in your heart. Then that opening monologue kicked in, and it's EXACTLY what I missed so much from that show--we get a LOT of PFT in the podcasting world, but none of it quite compared to that off-the-cuff, perfectly-paced ramble (and it makes it even more perfect to have Eban there Schlettering about in the background). It feels like coming home. Now to listen to the rest of the ep!

    EPISODE 342 — A Silicon Valley P-Cast

I'm guessing it's just that it's quite possibly the best segment theme ever made for the show, but is for a segment that has very little replay value, and Scotty wants to get to play it more often.

    EPISODE 342 — A Silicon Valley P-Cast

Yeah, because he sort of plays the straight man character on SV I hadn't really thought of him as being quite this funny...

    EPISODE 342 — A Silicon Valley P-Cast

It's a monthly subscription. It sounds like a lot but it's just a fart for a rich guy like me. The whitest of gym socks across the couch...

    EPISODE 342 — A Silicon Valley P-Cast

Yeah, that last guy is really wasting his life in dead media. (<--that "new-media internet snob" guy we all know)

    EPISODE 342 — A Silicon Valley P-Cast

What a podcasting! I'll admit, I was expecting something PFT centric to plug Spontaneanananaaiananntion (and the guy used to complain about people not being able to spell Tompkast, amiright?!?), but this was fantastic. Also, is anyone working on a dance track (plug theme?) using Scott's "uh uh uh"s?
  11. It is kind of sad to me that it would likely be considered an unthinkable breach of custodianship of historical artifacts to ever roll this 1600~2200 year old d20.
  12. "Wasn't Jesse Thorn supposed to be here?" "His beard is here" "Oh, so he'll get here in a few hours" Cracked me up so hard.

Truly the ultimate in unique dice...

Also at 1 1/2" of stone that thing would make a satisfying "thud."

EPISODE 340 — LIVE from SXSW 2015 II

Man, Tig is the unassailable master of denial improv... so good.
  15. Well, he has only been on CBB a handful of times (though he skates by on all his famous friends dropping plugs for him)...
  16. I have to remind myself that as exciting as this is to people it's exciting to, that niche is ultimately niche in absolute terms, I keep wanting to say to everyone I see today "DID YOU HEAR PFT IS STARTING A NEW WEEKLY PODCAST?!?!" and it seems like this should be front-page above-the-fold headline news...

EPISODE 118 — Dirking the Squirrel

Though that could be an alternate explanation for the burnt toast smell...
  19. Oh my god, this had better not be an elaborate, long-con April Fools joke...

EPISODE 118 — Dirking the Squirrel

Also, can we pass around a hat and take up a collection to get Naz some more arrows?

EPISODE 118 — Dirking the Squirrel

Did that cut really abruptly from discussion of the generous listener gift straight into mid-combat or did I just have some kind of mini-stroke?
  22. Because your wondering made me curious about it, and I looked it up: "Stat" isn't short for any other widely-used English word, it's from the latin statim meaning "immediately." Also: made me laugh way too much.
