Episode 327 β Bang! Bang! Into Your Mouth!
NicholasArthurTallidis replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Comedy Bang Bang
CBB guests have hit pretty close to home for me before, but it was taken to a whole 'nother level when Uncle Stoney said he lost his toes on the train tracks in Arlington Heights. I grew up less than a mile from those tracks. Next time I visit my parents I am looking for those toes. -
Episode 168 β These Fat Crackers: The Final Battle
NicholasArthurTallidis replied to JulyDiaz's topic in improv4humans with Matt Besser
A weekly listener should know not to question Master Blaster. -
Episode 7 β It's Not Just Magic with Rick Glassman
NicholasArthurTallidis replied to JulyDiaz's topic in With Special Guest Lauren Lapkus
Very true. Nothing can be said about CBB as a rule, but Lapkus so far has avoided getting overly cartoon-y with this and I like that. If you were flipping stations in the car, you wouldn't instantly know if was a spoof. -

I actually really enjoy the pacing in WSGLL and the fact that some eps really test the listener's patience. I love the in-your-face improv of CBB, but it is nice to hear something more subtle. -

Happy holidays, everyone. Raise an eggnog to another amazing year of CBB. -
Episode 210.5 β 12/12/14 TWO CHARTED 149
NicholasArthurTallidis replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Who Charted?
I was thinking that too. Must be the case. Also, I really wanna hear that Springsteen CD Howard found. They can't let that go. -
Episode 210 β Artisanal Podcasting

Props for the Skokie shout out, Kulap! -
Episode 163 β Eric the Paid Intern Returns: LIVE at the UCBSunset
NicholasArthurTallidis replied to JulyDiaz's topic in improv4humans with Matt Besser
Please, please, please, never change. Would you naysayers have ever asked Picasso to paint more realistically or The Beatles to quit experimenting with new styles? Comedy/podcasting is an art form and Master Blaster is the artist here. -
Kulap trying to steal Adam Scott's REM podcast right out from under his asshole.

Episode 1 β Public Domain with Paul F. Tompkins
NicholasArthurTallidis replied to JulyDiaz's topic in With Special Guest Lauren Lapkus
I feel kind of like that birthday boy's sketch where the boys are overloaded with too many shows. I couldn't be more excited for this, but have to lament the additional hour and change I am now obligated to give to earwolf. "THERE ARE TOO MANY PODCASTS!!!" -
Episode 159 β Rainbow Bridge
NicholasArthurTallidis replied to JulyDiaz's topic in improv4humans with Matt Besser
Is any part of the internet safe from the police? I can enjoy Improv4humans without agreeing with all of Besser's opinions. I have shaken my head at plenty of the shit that is spouted out on this show, but I also can acknowledge that the intensity he displays is part of the draw here. He said it best in this thread, he's not a pundit but rather a humon and comedian. Let him be himself and if it is so bothersome to hear him, don't listen. What the fuck is the point of writing a 1,000 word response to a comedian with no political or social pull whatsoever? I prefer to listen to people who are genuine, whether or not I agree with them, than I do some whiny asshole who can't stand that the entire world doesn't see through their eyes. The PC liberals on the internet are getting dangerously close to gestapo territory. Relax, breath, enjoy people with thoughts that differ from yours. Most importantly, choose your god damned battles. Your 1,000 words would better serve the world elsewhere. This is my happy place, why are you people trying to fuck with that. -
Episode 206 β Career Killing Commercials
NicholasArthurTallidis replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Who Charted?
And you're arguing that everyone (including celebrities providing you free entertainment) should censor themselves about a film they've seen and want to discuss simply because you haven't seen it yet? You were the kind of kid who dropped his ice cream cone and then knocked another kid's cone out of their hand to make yourself feel better, weren't you? -
Episode 321 β Big Fat Voice
NicholasArthurTallidis replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Comedy Bang Bang
Man, I would love to see a return of Jukebox Jury. I got into CBB right around the time it fizzled out. Always wished I could submit a song for Scotty to groan at. -
Episode 157 β IQ of a Corpse
NicholasArthurTallidis replied to JulyDiaz's topic in improv4humans with Matt Besser
I get the feeling that some people just really want to get on case closed and are just trying to rile Besser up in hopes of an invitation. -

Episode 314 β Yβall Heard Any of These Names Before?
NicholasArthurTallidis replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Comedy Bang Bang
I am not looking for any sort of message board battle here. I am sure you're a decent person and not a bigot. You should, however, try to understand that being a minority is something comedians and artists NEED to talk about. It's only recently that black comics exist on the same plane as white comics, or that gay and lesbian comics can land slots in traditional clubs. Hell, even white women still have trouble making it. Scott obviously embraces this aspect of modern comedy culture, and I think there is a very conscious move on his part to introduce these comics to an audience that may never hear them otherwise. In this specific case, I would question whether or not she's actually talking about being lesbian so often, or whether you are just hearing that because you've typecast her into that role. Sure, it is mentioned here and there(mostly due to Scott's provocation), but the majority of the episode has nothing to do with her sexuality. She actually played along with PFT much better than many others have. -
Episode 314 β Yβall Heard Any of These Names Before?
NicholasArthurTallidis replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Comedy Bang Bang
Can we get a "Yo, is this racist?" crossover thread going? I'd love to get some of that sweet Ti wisdom on this one. -
Episode 314 β Yβall Heard Any of These Names Before?
NicholasArthurTallidis replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Comedy Bang Bang
In a way, it would make you racist. Not a white-hooded, cross-burning racist, but someone who is slightly uncomfortable with minorities who want to talk about being minorities. A comedian's material is a result of their experiences. For some, being black or being lesbian was/is a prominent part of their development. You can choose not to listen to it or may not be able to relate to the humor, sure. But at the point you are expressing this opinion on a message board with the expectation that all will probably jump on this opinion with you...yeah, that's a little homophobic.- 133 replies

NicholasArthurTallidis replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Comedy Bang Bang
Is this comment part of the spillover caused by the Sklar Bros having Dane Cook on last week? Keep this homophobic crap off this site, please. EDIT: And what the hell does "dresses gay" even mean??? -

Episode 6 β Achtung Baby
NicholasArthurTallidis replied to JulyDiaz's topic in U Talkin' Talking Heads 2 My Talking Head
I am 27 and legitimately like (some) U2. I have all their stuff until Rattle and Hum, which turned me off with all the covers and live tracks. Post-Rattle I have heard the singles and random songs that always sounded pretty bland. I will say that I am one of the few who actually likes the U2 talk as much as the banter. I felt sort of cheated last week when Atchung Baby was barely mentioned until I realized it was going to be a two-parter. -
