    From the sound of Tim catching that water, I feel like it must have been pretty rad (It got an extended "Wow!" from Hayes). I wish I could have seen it. Those in attendance, can you share some details? Was it a one-handed catch, or did he whip off his hat and make a basket catch, or what? How big of a water was it?

     

    It was a one-handed catch up high from pretty far away. Very smooth and impressive. It was a regular size, maybe 16 oz bottle. I believe it was Arrowhead.

    Wait, one other thing while I'm here:

     

    Chicago Style has it "Hayes's" (except, I think, in certain situations like Biblical names in which the s+apostrophe construction is standard.) That's also what Strunk and White says. I guess they reserve the s+apostrophe construction for plural possessives.

     

    Usually I'd agree, because simplicity and clarity are the main goals, and it's nice to separate overlapping rules. But I like the look of s+apostrophe as a singular possessive for a word ending in s. Especially with proper nouns, where confusion is unlikely.

     

    Words are fun.

    Such an emotional roller coaster. So much crying, then laughing, then crying. Thank you Scott, Brett, July, Ele, and everyone at Earwolf. You guys are amazing. I know this wasn't easy, but we really appreciate you sharing this with us.

     

    I just wish I had emailed Harris long ago to let him know how much I loved and appreciated him....and sent him a photo of someone's boobs.

    By the way, a tale from the making of Anastasia: When I was 7, 8, and 9 years old I worked as an illegal child laborer at the annual cat show in Tucson, cleaning cages during the judge's viewing. It was incredible. The cleaning was minimal, just a quick spray and wipe to remove the previous cat's scent. And we got $50 for the day! And free lunch! Plus I got to see so many cats!! I was exploited and I loved it!!

     

    EDIT: I should add a serious disclaimer that I do not support dog and cat breeding. Just go to a shelter people!!
