  1. I don't know if anyone mentioned this, but I am a big William Blake fan, so I thought I should mention that in 1789 Blake wrote and illustrated two collections of poetry: The Songs of Innocence and The Songs of Experience. The Songs of Innocence contains poems about youth and having a untarnished perspective on the world. The Songs of Experience contains poems that discuss the world's negative impact on or destruction of innocence. It's impressive that U2 is referencing Blake's work and also exploring similar themes in this album (and the next). I'm not a U2 fan, but this album seems alright.

  2. All this week, many earwolf podcasts have mentioned Cody's unruly behavior. There have been some recent issues on Who Charted? and on today's new episode of UTU2TM? the words "What the FUCK is going on with Cody?" were exclaimed. And of course I don't need to mention his misconduct on HH.

So, my question for the engineers is "What the fuck is going on with Cody?" I'm quite concerned.

  3. Hi!

that is my "radio voice" i was actually hired off the street by earwolf when jeff heard me doing it out of his car. in real life when i relax my voice is a really smooth baritone.

    dying

Well, great job developing your radio voice. I think you are really breaking the mold for on-air personalities. You may (may) die someday, but your voice will live on in podcast history for eternity.

  4. anastasia, I agree, and i find it so hilariously absurd that it took Kroll bringing out the charac on CBB for this 'joke' to dawn on me. I wouldn't say rocks n roll was one of the bits that stayed with me the longest, so I have to go back and watch again to see if I catch any of the bad ways he might display an aussie putting on an american accent

I could go for a CBB with Mantzoukas and Kroll as C-Czar, I think thoes two would clash nicely

Haha! It's true, that was the most subtle joke on Kroll Show and it took this CBB appearance to complete the joke for me too.

'Zouks and Kroll, has that match ever happened before? I would love to see (hear) that too.

  5. so can anyone else who's a Kroll Show fan chime in here?

Kroll bringing out R Schrift made total sense with the aussie chick there, but halfway through that character work something about the character on Kroll Show dawned on me. They do a long drawn out intro to the show in which Kroll does the voiceover with that thick thick aussie accent that he used on CBB here, however when it gets to the actual show... R Schrift's 'character' of the renegade geologist speaks like a Californian or something, but plainly American, right?

Hearing this episode made me wonder if this was an elaborate and yet subtle joke on the kroll show that I missed, that he's an aussie, but he doesn't sound like one at all

I know this sounds crazy and convoluted, but I think the actor R. Schrift is Australian but the character he plays on Rocks and Roll is American. He has a bad generic American accent and slips in to Australian sounds from time to time.

  6. Am I the only one who was really thrown off by the title in the iPhone's podcast app? It usually says the ep# and then the guests, today just "Tony Macaroni", so I was relieved to see that Nick Clown and Jimmy Pardo were on it and not some weird indie parody group called Tony Macaroni

I thoroughly enjoyed the surprise guest list. Much like Scott wishing not to know the titles of films before he sees them, I would almost prefer to not see who is on before I listen to CBB.
