  1. So what are our guesses for next week's special episode? My money is on Scott and Scott's former girlfriends whom they married making guest appearances to say 'What the fuck is wrong with U 2 and talkin' U2?' but it could also be the long awaited college girls episode, a sit down with Bono or old sourpuss himself, or something completely different.

I would love to see an episode with Kulap and Naomi. But I'm thinking they might also include an in-depth look at behind the scenes of UTU2TM? A real "how the bread is made" episode. How have they contacted each other to plan recordings for each episode, text or email? Why is there often miscommunication over what time they're meeting? Who contacts Engineer Cody Sam to get them in the studio? Is Adam getting frustrated with the cord hand-over punk? Etc.

  2. Instead of being separated by gender identity, there should just be one restroom for sitting and one restroom for standing. You decide which one you need.

PS - I can't wait to read Todd's book, and James Adomian is one of the funniest people working today. If you haven't seen him do stand up, I highly recommend it.

  3. It tickles me that Rodney Og likes the anti-Armen posts and Rod_Ogg likes the pro-Armen posts. A bit of a Jekyll and Hyde thing there.

I relate to Armen in that I find it difficult to express myself eloquently in person. Improv is actually a wonderful cure for that. It gets you out of your head and into the moment. That being said, Armen did a fine job and these have been some fun shows. Besser as Snape is genius! I love Besser and I wish I had the opportunity to take UCB classes. Do it, Armen.

  4. Drunk Scott! Paul F. Greatest! Gourley! What more could a gal ask for?

    "Are those clanking chains?"

    "uh, no"

"Oh those are your keys. I thought it was some sort of Jacob Marley fettered situation."

"No, I was just getting my keys out of the way. Why would I have clanking chains for an exorcism?"

"I don't know! Alright here we go. Do you need any assistance from me?"

"Yes, I'd like you to shut up."

It's 'essentially' straight up stand up technically, but calling what Brody does straight up stand up is a huge misnomer. You don't know the full power of Brody until he's standing right in front of you, yelling at the audience.

Howard was delightfully flustered by his new hair cut and was everything I could have wanted.

One of the best shows I've seen recently and it was super cheap in Chicago.

I heartily agree. I saw them in San Francisco and brought along two friends who were completely unfamiliar with Brody and Howard. I was a little nervous that my friends wouldn't enjoy it because their style of stand up is not at all typical, especially Brody's. But we all agreed at the end of the night that this was one of the best stand up shows we had seen in ages. We all laughed constantly. Howard was charming and weird and very funny! I am now a big fan of Adam Cayton-Holland too.

Brody's set is pretty long so that makes sense that the show would be from 9 - 1am. He did more than an hour with us, but I could have watched him for longer than that. Brody's energy is so powerful and intoxicating. His crowd work was hilarious. If he comes to your town, do yourself a favor and experience his show live.

  6. Ok. An attempt to set the record straight, I think Benny came up with the term Solo Bolo in ep.263 27:10. But Scott proposes that Benny come back for a Solo Bolo in the same episode at 46:40. Does anyone remember a mention of Solo Bolo earlier than this? They didn't talk about it in episodes 192 or 229.

I love "annnnnd … 10 more minutes". can anybody tell me where that started?

This was a bit that Ben used to do live, but he mentioned it on CBB (maybe in his first episode?) and Scott loved it. They've been doing it ever since. Ben explains it to Werner Herzog in ep. 229.

  7. I believe Benny came up with Solo Bolo in the episode with Shelly Driftwood (192).

Benny says Solo Bolo in episode 263 around 27 mins in. But maybe it was brought up in a previous episode. I do remember episode 192 has a beautiful Going to the Break song sung by Benny and Scott.

    EDIT:

  8. Here's my list of possible Summah skillz to work on. Which should I focus on this Summah?

    Using a bow and arrow

    Learning Spanish

    Playing piano

    Kickboxing or Krav Maga

Survival skills (such as foraging for food and wilderness first aid)
