Also, re: The Lumineers, I remember hearing an interview with them from Nardwuar, and when asked why should people care about The Lumineers, the band basically said people shouldn't in their annoyingly too cool jovial manner. Fuck, they really couldn't have been any more correct about themselves.

I'm not trying to stir the pot or be "that" guy, but I don't like Anthony Jeselnik at all. However, I made the promise to myself that I would listen to all CBBs this year. So with that said, if someone doesn't like Anthony Jeselnik, how bearable would you say he is in this episode?

With all due respect, dude, go fuck yourself. It's pretty clear they've been recording several episodes at once for at least the past year and a half. I'm just going to safely assume that 1) you've never had a string of serious illnesses 2) you've never had to continuously travel for your work 3) you've never had to do anything creative. Any combination of those three will make someone re-evaluate what's important and what needs to be the focus of their life. But combining all three of those? I'm honestly amazed Tig has been able to power through this for as long as she is. To me it shows that she loved doing it, but sometimes things just have to be put to rest. I just don't get the audacity of people who think they know about someone's life or understand a situation and deserve to have some haughty opinion on the matter because they listen to a podcast or buy someone's album. If everyone is happy, healthy, and busy, and it sounds like they are and are also on great terms still, then all I can do is thank them for the joy they've given me for three or so years. Best of luck to everyone.

Did anyone else have problems with the volume being too low? It was painfully low for me this episode - like British podcast levels low (the Economist and Naked Scientist are both pretty quiet).

I think the reason why Gino always kills it is pretty simple - there's no real back story to slog through. I can't think of who else can come in with such little backstory and is just free to shoot the shit on the fly without it changing the cosmetics of the character, so there's this unrestrained freedom in all of it.

I should also say that I think it's a bit gauche to talk about Paul's famous uncle while ignoring the grieving I'm sure Jimmy is still experiencing from the loss of his relative Don.

As someone who has zero interest in ever exploring the world of comedy as a career, I have to have that I absolutely loved this advice time. It's always good to hear some affirmations that can be applied to life/work outside of the improv scene, even if improv is the focus. It's these little bursts of insight and advice that make me appreciate everything Matt Besser has done even more. What a fucking guy.

Just to add to this, I believe PFT & Scott spoke on something somewhat similar re: complaining on the boards during the best of episodes. And the summary of it all was they really don't give a shit when people don't like something, and they definitely don't give a shit about the opinions of complaining about a guest... if I remember correctly, which is exactly why, in spite of my dislike of certain guests, I refrain from the boards from time-to-time.

I don't know... Scott losing his shit on Fitch was one of my favorite Scott moments of the year, maybe even nudging his defensiveness in Heynong Man from the top spot. It was a bit slow until that part, but listening to the building exasperation from Scott and Jimmy was still pretty good.
