Episode 9 — The Dr. Phil/Victor Ramos Show LIVE from UCB-Sunset
Rembrandt Pussyhorse replied to JulyDiaz's topic in With Special Guest Lauren Lapkus
This podcast has been very hit or miss for me, but I liked this episode a lot. I think that breaking the episode up into smaller skits was a great decision. It ensured that none of the sketches overstayed their welcome. I think it's hard to keep the momentum of a skit for an hour plus, and some of the episodes have sagged as a result. It also doesn't hurt that Raj is an excellent improviser and easily the best "host" since PFT. -
Episode 327 — Bang! Bang! Into Your Mouth!

I think the Chocktaw gives his audience too much credit. This is the kind of bit-filled, silly, meandering bullshit that I have come to know and love about this show. Great ep. -
Episode 207 — Angel Scholar

This was probably my favorite episode thus far. The "Oh, you're a woman." at the end was so unexpected and delightful.. -

I would piggyback on that by suggesting episode 99 (AKA the Don Dimello episode), Time Bobby, and the first Gillian Jacobs/Garry Marshall episode, and Wipeout! (Dalton Wilcox's premiere). Honestly, there are probably another dozen episodes out there that are world-class and you'll get different suggestions from everyone. Good luck catching up. -
Gravy train? Gravy boat? Is there any mode of transportation available that isn't covered in gravy? Oh well, at least I brought my mashed potatoes.

Episode 323 — Pie Quiz with Tears for Fears

Is it too early to pencil this in for best of 2015? I love it when musical guests are game to get in on the silliness (see: Paul Banks, Neko Case). -

Holy shit. I completely forgot about this. Well now I know how I am going to spend the next 80 minutes. -

I also wanted to point out that as much as I love voting for and counting down the top episodes, I think it would be fun to expand the best of's to include awards like MVP, Best Character, Best New Character, Best Catchphrase, Best Plugs Theme, Funniest Moment, and probably a few others I forgot to mention. What I'm saying is I want to see the best of's stretch deep into February. -

I voted for the following: 1) The Calvins Twins (Because you gotta laugh!) 2) Oh, Golly! (I love Zouks and Daly episodes as is, but this one went to a strange, wonderful place.) 3) DuALity (Great chemistry between the two guests and a great game of Riddle Me This before it descended into its current crappiness). 4) Don't Hack the SAC (Claudia O'Doherty was the biggest CBB surprise of 2014. Her story was batshit insane and she played a great foil to Al and Scott) 5) Oh, Golly! You Devil (Not the funniest episode, but It's a hell of an accomplishment to pull off what they did, and to do it over two and a half hours) 6) They're Twins Jonah! (The Victor Podcast. Need I say more?) 7) Marissa Wompler's Six Flags Birthday Womptacular (An overabundance of riches. A bit uneven, but mostly hilarious.) 8) Grounded Me@ (Nice! Well it's Hollywood Facts and we're going downtown. Going to Inglewood now! Get your facts and know your stars. There's glitz, and glamour, and lots of bars. Get a drink at a club, and then go walk in front of the Chinese theater. Hollywood facts, take out your dicks. Check out the facts it's the Hollywood facts, brah. The fact that I recited this from memory means this episode must have had a huge effect on me.) 9) Tony Macaroni (A great episode overall. I don't know why, but I could listen to R. Shrift say 'yes' a million times and it would never get old.) 10) Gumbo Challenge (I couldn't go without a Benny Schwaz or Horatio Sans episode, and this was my favorite of the year.) I'm really surprised/disappointed that no Gino Lombardo or Joe Wengert episodes made the cut, but this was a great year for CBB. And the episode of the year has to be They're Twins Jonah! if only because nothing from this show has ever made me laugh more than The Victor Podcast. Truly C+ material. -

Voting was harder than expected. And it probably reflects poorly on me that I spent more time deliberating this ballot than the actual election this year. -

Thanks to this podcast, I am fairly certain I will one day be fired for asking a coworker what their fuckstyle is.
