  1. I am anti christmas, and thus pro war on christmas
  2. Oooooh Black Books was fantastic as well. Just noticed it in that list
  3. thats crazy that it has that much more cultural cache than the IT Crowd when they are both Linehan shows--the IT Crowd feels much more accessible to me, although from an Irish perspective Father Ted probably resonates more.
  4. Anything done by David Cronenberg is automatically a million times better-i.e. the movie "The Fly" vs the remake "Pretty Fly (For a White Guy)" by the Offspring.
  5. I feel the same way about Father Ted that I do about Alan Partridge--they are shows that I love dearly and could rewatch constantly, but other than other comedy nerds I interact with (i.e. this forum)there is absolutely ZERO chance that anyone else I encounter will be at all interested or find anything humorous about either show. They are both too out there/borderline depressing to even get a chuckle from most people I know.
  6. Father Ted is fantastic! My ex-wife and I almost named our second pug "Dougal"
  7. Yeah--RSS was fantastic, but those call in eps were brutal to listen to
  8. i love andy daly/gourley/pft etc and any CBB/I4H/etc eps they are on are immediate must listens for me, but I dont know that it would be anything other than diminishing returns to have them return to HH. One of my top 5 episodes of HH was the Sinbad episode--I dont feel like he really knew what was going on, but he ended up just being really out there and that led to a really great ep. Same with this one--I feel like there is some sort of comedic genius in weathering the storm of an uncooperative guest and spinning that into a weird, bizarre amalgamation of humor. My 2 cents--to each his/her own obviously. I agree with your Mighty Boosh wishes
  9. REAL TALK: I dont know what to think. Was it really that uncomfortable and was Pauly Shore that oblivious, or was the whole episode all a big anti-comedy ruse? S&H (and yes Engineer C in this episode) are comedic geniuses either way. I loffed quite a bit.
  10. i swear every earwolf podcast I listen to he screws up on. Its getting to be really funny at this point with the obvious caveat that I could never do what he does
  11. YESSSS! I have been thinking about what comedy people have not been on HH yet and Horatio is at the top of my want list as well
  12. I am generally angry and cynical and pessimistic in life, but with this next holiday coming up I just wanted to be on the record as saying I am thankful for HH making my Tuesday mornings a highlight of my week. I am also thankful for the funny, creative people on these forums who brighten up my day a little bit everytime I log in

Episode 59 — Paul Scheer, Our Close Friend

I HAVE noticed a drop in racism lately--Im sure it can likely be traced back to that sleepover. And I empathize with you on the scar thing, I still have a small one on the inside of my left ankle from that fateful day from when the chain dug a bit into my leg

Episode 59 — Paul Scheer, Our Close Friend

It is a running joke between my students and me that I live at school. I do have a house though outside of school. I tried to ride a dirt bike once when I was about 13 and fucked up my leg (hey look-a traumatic experience growing up!) so a Harley is not for me. My car is not a sports car, but it IS pretty fast and badass and cool

Episode 59 — Paul Scheer, Our Close Friend

wow I went away for two days and you guys added 4 pages of comments. Peeps been busy. I like the discussion questions, but I dont really have anything to add. I am a teacher so I dont have time for "projects" of my own really, except for in summer when the only project Im really that interested is sitting in the sun and drinking beer. Im amazed at some of the cool shit people on this forum can do though. So in summary I have nothing to add

I like it when guests try to explain to S&H the difference between a "skeleton" and a "skellington"
