    QUESTIONS FOR SCOTT RE: HOWL

Since so many people are worried about not being able to recommend certain episodes behind the wall, a fun solution would be to have a "gift" option where you can buy and send someone a month-long Howl subscription and be able to pick like 5 starter episodes you think your friend would enjoy.

    QUESTIONS FOR SCOTT RE: HOWL

Hey Scott, Love the new app and the new shows, but just one BIG question. Can I pay for Howl in cash? It's legal tender for all debts, public and private.
  3. When I heard "Lake Placid" was the movie my brain thought "Cape Fear" and I thought it was a weird choice because Cape Fear is a pretty good movie. So maybe that's what happened to other people and that's why they were defending it before the episode. Because there is no way that anyone actually enjoyed this.

    Episode 98 — LOL: LIVE!

Another foreign film remade shot for shot by the original writer/director is Funny Games by Michael Haneke, which, if you haven't seen it, is about a pair of fourth-wall-breaking teens who kidnap and torture a family in their vacation lake house. Between the two films, I'd say that LOL takes the cake when it comes to plumbing the depths of human depravity.

    Episode 306 — Project Funway

How is there a new episode with Harris that doesn't mention that "humblebrag" got added to the dictionary?

    Episode 89 — Gooby

Correction/Omission: As was mentioned, the lessons this movie seemed to be teaching children were strange, but I think you guys missed one of the worst. At first the movie seemed to be about overcoming new circumstances and making new friends (something specifically called out in the beginning that Willy would have trouble with). When he's at school, Willy is approached by the "nerdy" kid who points out all the popular kids. I assumed he and the nerdy kid would become friends, but instead we oddly never see him again and Willy becomes friends with cool kids. Anyway, at least Gooby helped Willy make new friends and that lesson was taught, right? Wrong! After Willy starts hanging out with real children, Gooby throws a temper tantrum, runs away, and is mad at Willy for ignoring him. So now it's teaching kids that they should never spurn their imaginary friends for real people, which is a terrible lesson.
