Was that a Calvins Twins reference @ 34:15?

"You gotta laugh..."

C+ episode, despite the shameless plug for "Who's Charting" @ 47:00

Stars were solid guests I thought, but I agree had it been just Neil and Claudia and maybe another comedian things could've really gone off the rails in a good way a la Tony Macaroni. Also nice surprise appearance from Kumail Nanjiani in the ads.

I'm incredibly dumb; had a feeling there may be a bbbonus ep up earlier today but when I saw "Live from SXSW" I didn't register the "part II" and immediately closed the tab. D'oh! Can't wait to listen.
Β
edit: Just listened. Solid ep, Tig and Leykis had this oil-and-water vibe that was funny but also kinda redundant since Scott is usually the wet towel. Personally I think it might be time to retire that character for awhile having peaked on With Special Guest a couple weeks back.

Terrible U2 podcast, they did not talk about films whatsoever.

On a second listen I realized what it was that felt off in this episode- Andy Daly isn't constantly being thrown premise breaking curveballs. It gives his performance a 'braced' quality, like trying to pet a dog that's used to being hit. I hope it doesn't let him think he can relax when he does another episode with Zouks.

It did feel weird that Jean Claude didn't jump out the windowdowblech

Gotta have PFT and Paul Rust purely for the off-mic laughter. Would also love to witness Lauren Lapkus and Claudia O'Doherty playing off of each other.
Β
edit: oh man now my head is swirling with crossover ideas
wompler meets gino
the calvins twins meet the bachelor brothers
jw stillwater takes on don dimello
hoho gives knives to forvel for christmas
canada day special with alan thicke, nathan fielder and jon daly and nick kroll as gene creemers and bryan lacroix

"Natural Nighttime Raspberry" is my fave type of scented candle (just don't fall onto it). Having characters reading copy is pretty great also. Good ep.

Really grateful that this exists.

Got very close to a closing sentiment-off at the end there.

Not sure what it is but it seems the older musical guests are far more game for CBB (colin hay, tears for fears, loudon wainwright iii)
Β
Also I feel incredibly stupid for not seeing that ending coming.

I reckon if Winsome ever heard the Kooky Cavemen he would be utterly inconsolable.

Can "The Jug Bandit" please be a new charac a la JW Stillwater?
(ok so I paused to write out this comment and then immediately after resuming scott said exactly what I was thinking so yeah, make it happen!)
Β
Β
Also I am thrilled/mortified by how well I remember the hollywood facts theme months after listening to that ep.

I think this ep had the best host/guest character arc thus far. Also so many delightful turns of phrase: "gotta get that sweet funt," "i feel that they're big honkers," "you ordered steak but you have to fuck the cow first" and of course "sweatpants are the underwear of pants."

I forgot which 10 I voted for (obviously the two claudia o'doherty eps given my user name)
Β
Just wanted to say that anyone disappointed with Time Bobby 3 (I'm not even seeing it mentioned much here) should definitely listen to the live NYC episode with Fourvel and Alan Thicke because it is right on par with Time Bobby 2.

Good ep of U Talkin' Tears 4 Fears For Me? The CBB calendar year is off to a great start!

YES Tiny and Victor were hysterical as always, and YES Alex was an exemplary first-timer, but can we PLEASE acknowledge how great Engineer Cody Cody's retaliatory knuckle cracking during the commercial was?

The chemistry between Tash.2 and the CBB zoo crew was really great. Wasn't crazy about Cholland's charac despite the accent being inherently funny, BUT I was very pleased with the Claudia O'Doherty callbacks.
-
dane cook is ok.
Β
anybody else catch when scott held back from saying "U2" just to bring them up a couple minutes later?
-
i took a chemistry class that was pretty experimental. - Scott
im going to throw-up if you say anything like that again. - Benny
Β
one of the more pure CBB relationships.
"How do you still have a podcast?!"

Anybody else see the trailer for Woody Allen's Magic in the Moonlight and immediately think of Ching Chong Matinee?

Prisoner of Achtung Baby
Β
edit:
ALSO if there are going to be future eps it would be really awesome to have LA-based musician Mylets as a guest since he's a massive U2 fan. A video of his for the unfamiliar:

Claudia is definitely my favourite newly recurring guest, in spite of her backstory reaching Bachleor Brothers levels of convolutedness.
Β
"Eel be back" and "there's a lot of holes in this story, and one in the pizza!" killed me.
Β
Also as a resident I can confirm Toronto exists all year round.

I like this ep more than paullikeschemicalswalterwhite

I've been looking forward to this all summer and it did not disappoint! Huskey and Zouks made the ep for me but everyone had some great moments.
Β
Couple things:
-"Flume of dooks" would've been a great alternate title
-Had they made it to Jersey it would have been a perfect excuse to have Gino there
-No appearance or mention of Mizz Chips (her parents own Six Flags if I'm not mistaken)
-Could have finally linked the Dimelloverse and Womplerverse to the Tompkinverse through Filipe/Cake Boss but no one seemed to think much of it (where'd he go after the break anyways?)
-Marissa/Gutterballs/Danielle/Traci/Scott/Scott's-former-girlfriend-whom-he-married love-hexagon?!?

When you're shifting bouncy you gotta laugh
