    Episode 241.5 — Prequel to Episode 242

Thanks @GrahamS.! Although, I’m gonna have to veto both Die Hard and Batman Returns as they are Christmas movies Pee Wee’s Big Adventure definitely has a summer feel, though.

    Episode 241.5 — Prequel to Episode 242

I’m trying to come up with a list of “summer” movies, and I wondered if anyone had any suggestions. I’m not really looking for dramas, mostly comedies and action movies. They don’t necessarily have to happen during the summer, but I’d like a summer feel. Some examples: Summer Rental, Summer School, Club Paradise. Like, would Caddy Shack be one? Maybe Point Break? Anyway, any suggestions would be appreciated

    Episode 241.5 — Prequel to Episode 242

It’s funny, a couple of weeks ago I was listening to old eps for the Howdies, and I had completely forgotten about the Blake J Harris interviews. I was like, “Awww, remember those?” and the very next week they were back! I’m pretty sure I Secret-ed them back into existence (as opposed to “secreted” which is way more messy)
  4. That's great and all, but it's not like you have the boyish charm and roguish sex appeal of a mid-aughts boy band member... Awww, fuck...

Aside from V8, what is the least sexiest food/beverage? My vote will always be for coleslaw.

Episode 241: Ninja III: The Domination

I’m loving all the new people on here! Welcome to all! I don’t really have much to add regarding the movie itself, but as Paul seemed to be struggling to identify the type of tank top that Billy was wearing without referring to the offensive colloquial slang that is often used, I just thought I would contribute that the technical term for those types of tanks is an “A Shirt.” Yeah, maybe a lot of people won’t know what you’re talking about if you refer to it as an A Shirt, but that’s on them. If they’re curious, they can look it up.
  8. Technically, HDTGM did Jazz Singer, but I’d be down for some Yentl

    Holy Matrimony: LIVE

Oh man, I remember in the long, long ago when they were super inconsistent with their release schedule. I think we waited something like a month and a half for Secret of the Ooze to drop. Those were the days-lol As for this movie, they’ll most likely release it. They were on tour for most of last year and have a considerable backlog at this point. They also only release two episodes a month. It could just be that they’re saving some backlog stuff for when they maybe filming and unavailable to record. They’ll get to it eventually though
  10. I believe it’s the same person.
  11. Awesome pick! No, I haven't seen this, and I just found out recently it's based on a true story. I'm looking forward to it

    Episode 240.5 — Minisode 240.5

It is, but still, “cop” anything is a pretty touchy subject right now. It’s got to be hard to be funny when you’re instinct is to be “fuck those guys” and somehow ignore what’s been going on this week. Honestly, they’d probably be better tabling this one for now and, if they want to release something, release one of the live eps they have backlogged. But whatever they choose to do is fine by me. I can’t say I’ve been much in the mood lately.

    Episode 240.5 — Minisode 240.5

I know Paul cancelled the Unspooled watch party this week because of it, and I wondered if they would release an episode this week. Honestly, I think it’s hard for anyone to be funny right now. I totally don’t blame them if they want to hold off a bit—especially considering the subject matter of this movie.
  18. Regarding Unspooled, I certainly get the criticism, and I personally know of a few people who have stopped listening for just that reason. Hell, I myself haven’t listened in quite a while. On the other hand, I feel like Unspooled is a chance for her to take off her movie critic’s hat and just be a movie fan. It’s what allows me to give a film like Brendan Fraser’s The Mummy movie 5-Stars on Letterboxd while simultaneously giving A Clockwork Orange or Raging Bull 2 and 1 stars. Sure, on an intellectual level I get that they are better movies, but they also aren’t movies that I particularly like sitting through either, and I would definitely have nits to pick on how to “improve” them. Honestly, it’s just the way the show has been structured from the beginning. And not to sound like a smart ass, but isn’t wishing she would do it differently kind of like complaining about Dylan’s voice or wishing Goodfellas was something other than what it is? There are plenty of “good/classic” movie podcasts that would probably agree with you. If you don’t agree with her, or if her opinions tend to get on your nerves, my suggestion would be to find a different podcast to listen to. I mean, sometimes it sucks when you want to like something and just can’t, but life’s too short to waste time on something that doesn’t bring you joy.
  19. I’m on the side of “it was good, but could have given me more.” It was great to have that kind of access, but the film itself felt pretty dry to me. I feel like a group as innovative as ATCQ deserves a documentary that doesn’t feel so prosaic.
  20. Have you tried Crackle?
