  1. That’s the thing though. They discuss this with the one guy who is kind of on their side and they are all shocked that they were just “put to sleep” rather than harmed. This is what gets them thinking that the Mul might not be evil. Again, though, this implies they have no idea what those weapons were in the first place, so there’s no reason Val should have had a specific device designed to circumvent it.
  2. In defense of the movie (Ugh!), I don't think the idea was that money would never be exchanged. I think Bubble's performance was a negotiating tactic. That is, they weren't going to talk money until after you see what she can do. She's probably SUPER expensive, but if he gave her price upfront, the John might not be willing to pay. But if the John sees what she's capable of, and all of the debauched possibilities you suggest, then they might be more willing to pay the price.
  3. What I found crazy was the Batman '66 levels of specificity in some of the gadgets that are employed during the course of the movie. Like, I get always being prepared, but at times, the movie takes it to almost ludicrous levels. Val and Lor appear to have access to technology that is able to somehow detect and counteract technologies more advanced than their own while also being able to easily identify aberrant alien metaphysics. For instance, I get how having a computer being able to recount your dreams might be useful (in a New Age-y bullshit kind of way), but how exactly would the computer be able to tell him that dream was externally imposed upon him if the entire concept of soul grafting onto husky-voiced Bang Boyz is a completely foreign concept? I mean, computers can be pretty impressive, but that still can't do anything we don't program them to do. How would they even begin to program for an eventuality, that for them, is, at best, hypothetical? Likewise, Val uses his spider re-breather device to protect himself from the Mul's jizz guns, but afterward, they make it clear that they've never encountered weapons like their bukake blasters before. So, if this is a totally unknown weapon, why would he even have something like that? I mean, I get the time you want a mouth activated spider slicer isn't the time you need a mouth activated spider slicer, but still, I can't help feeling like the R&D teams of the future are putting the cart before the horse a bit.
  4. I know that it was controversial for having naked actors on stage, and that “The Age of Aquarius” is in it. Other than that, I have no clue.
  5. Sorry! I will do the one meant to do next time!
  6. Okay, so, I had a movie all lined up that I've been meaning to pick for a really long time; however, it's not streaming anywhere, and given current affairs, I didn't want to put too many people out of pocket to rent something that may or not be good. So I narrowed it down to two other choices, and I'm picking the one that (I think) might generate the most discussion (either in a good or bad way). The good news is, this is also a pick I've had in my back pocket for as long as we've been doing this. In fact, it was almost my second ever pick after Hairspray. I didn't choose it because I didn't want it to seem like I had a theme (although, my third pick would have definitely been Head had I gone with this second. ) I have no idea what it's about, but it's on Amazon Video.

Eventually, she put aside such childish crushes and focused all her affections on one man: Ted Neely.

    3rd Annual(?) Howdies

Okay, here are a few items from Episode 137 The Avengers that I thought were worth pulling: "Best Thing June is Truly Upset by" -- Short Men (16:43) This might be a threefer. I'm not sure if it should go under "Antagonizing the Crowd," "Best Audience Question," or "Best Host Theory," but starting at 55:31, an audience member gets really into the fact that there are lines of coke in front of Uma in one of the scenes. This eventually leads June to posit that those lines might be Uma's "scientific molecules and stuff." At 1:05:28, there is the wedding proposal from the guy from the TMNT episode. Not sure what category that fall under. "Memorable Moments," maybe? Again, I have a couple more things that might be worth adding if we need extra stuff for categories, but those felt like the big moments in the episode.

According to Wikipedia: So, it looks like Freed was trying to make him a "thing." It does look like he *just* died which is kind of sad.

    3rd Annual(?) Howdies

Oh man, listening to these old minis makes me sad for all the posters who are no longer with us. I miss @Amy the Gorilla For consideration, Ep 136 Hell Comes to Frogtown Abuse of someone in the Crowd 4:11-5:50 (Podcast nerds/the woman knitting in the front row during the show) (ETA: She returns in The Phantom episode at 1:02:55) 1:06:06 ("I'm considered the Jason of our group...") There are a couple of other things I could pull from this episode, but with 100 episodes to go through, I think it's best to hold them off unless a specific category is looking anemic.

    Episode 236.5 — Prequel to Episode 237

Years ago, in preparation for Rhinestone I ended up watching Urban Cowboy. I kept thinking it was far bleaker than their normal fare.
