  1. I just looked at it the other day, but I didn’t do anything with it. I’ve been meaning to though, I swear.
  2. Cool, I was going to pick that at some point
  3. Sorry, I’ll see myself off to “My Own Prison”
  4. Paul seemed confused why Selene drank her own blood and questioned why she couldn’t just remember, but I believe the implication is that blood memory is more tangible than cognitive recall. She had just learned through Marius’ blood that the love of her life, Michael, had been tortured and viciously bled to death so he could blood dope on his sweet, sweet hybrid plasma. Biting herself allowed her to not just remember Michael, but literally re-experience their time together. She’s acting out of grief and wanting to see him again. It also served a dual purpose of drowning out the violent images of Michael’s death, by focusing her attention on his life. This prevents her from collapsing in despair, which would have given Marius the edge, and gave her the fortitude to rip his spine out of his damned dirty doggie body.
  5. 1000%. I really don’t understand picking the fifth movie of a series and then saying, “I don’t get it.” It’s like reading the last chapter of a novel and then complaining that it “doesn’t make sense.” Like you were saying, I, Frankenstein, or the even the first Underworld, would have probably been better picks. They have a lot of the same issues they had with this movie, but at least they wouldn’t be wondering who prominent characters are from the series. I really don’t think the fifth movie in a series should have the onus of explaining *everything* that’s ever happened to these characters. I mean, they seemed to have a problem with the initial expo dump and then they complained that they didn’t have enough information to understand what was going on. That first flashback is just the “Previously in...” page of a comic book. It’s catching you up to speed on relevant plot points, but it’s not supposed to be a substitute for having watched the previous films. It’s supposed to be a refresher, not a detailed synopsis.
  6. I love I, Frankenstein! If I remember correctly, tight around the time Twilight came out, Bill Hader did an interview where he was saying that SNL did a skit about a sexy Frankenstein, and then I, Frankenstein was released a little while later. Kind of like life catching up with their jokes. I, Frankenstein is so much like (the first) Underworld they even had Bill Nighy in it playing virtually the same role.
  7. Sure, he’d greet her with “Arms Wide Open.”
  8. The second is pretty great. I think my least favorite is Awakening, but it’s been a while since I’ve seen it. The point is: these are perfect movies and anyone who disagrees with us are dumb-dumb wrongheads. Oh, and Scott Speedman and Scott Stapp are 1000% the same person, right
  9. Rise of the Lycans is still my favorite. I’m not sure why...
  10. I haven’t listened to the episode yet, but I’m with you. I probably watch these once a year () or so. I also agree, that it’s weird to pick this movie over the first one. There’s nothing in this movie that’s particularly crazy that isn’t present in the other movies, and you know they’re going to have questions about the universe (all of which is pretty well established in the first movie). It just seems to be making it needlessly harder on themselves. So, yeah, the movies are garbage, but I enjoy them. And if they make another one, I will buy it gleefully.
  11. All the shit we watched as children was terrible. We just had shitty taste and fewer options.
  12. The true meaning of the word “Jam” and much more on this week’s mini-sode! Paul also offers advice as he opens up the Paul Help Line, goes through Corrections and Omissions for Space Jam, shares a deleted scene from the Space Jam episode, and opens up the Mail Bag. 13. Oh fuck, their “mucho gusto/put on your dancing shoes-to” song had me baffled.
  14. I believe his involved in the whole amulet retrieval operation, but he never raps again—which is a shame. Also, why did Molly want a locket with a picture of someone else’s mother in it?
  15. They don’t even talk about it! Her mother just says, “I raised him the way I wish I had raised you” and no one is like, “Wait! What?”
  16. Did anyone else think it was a weird choice that they essentially made William Angelica’s brother?
  17. I literally cannot believe that this movie ends with a “Hey, the movie’s not over yet...” That is fucking bonkers!
  18. I don’t know about you, but I enjoy graffiti that randomly mentions a music genre— which would be a non sequitur if not for it being anachronistically performed at that very instant.

I’ve seen it. It was bonkers. Knowing Paul, I think he’ll enjoy it.

Gah! Putting “Yes” second threw me off! This is a total “Hell no” from me
  22. 1) IIRC, her boss had an antique gun of some sort and sticks him up with it. On the way to her car, he slips on ice and gets knocked out. She handcuffs him in the car, but they are never literally handcuffed to one another. 2) I’m not sure...Maybe they were working on a non-movie project or she was a writer. Neither Google nor IMDb were helpful.
