The story is, Michael Caine opened the script for Jaws: The Revenge, and it said "ext: Bahamas" and he said "I'll do it".

Mark Kermode, whenever this was brought up on his Movie show, just said, "Next? Uh... next!" I watched this for the first time a few days ago, and it's pretty ripe stuff. Reading back through this thread, I'm glad the nod to Breaking Dawn Part II was mentioned, as yeah, this beat it to the punch. Special mention must go to Cage's hair in this flick, as it's as bonkers as the plot.... And Julianne Moore is utterly awful in this movie.
-
The "honest trailer" for this movie kinda sums it up.
-
British movie critic and all-round cool-dude Mark Kermode refers to this movie as "Wrongtious Kill". He's not wrong.

I re-watched this the other night, and it's definitely next-level bonkers. What I loved most about it, is when they're walking around "New York", it's actually Frankfurt, because I recognised buildings from when I went there.... Also, the Palin "assistant" / campaign manager / space commander-ess is utterly ham-tastic in this. She goes from zero to batshit crazy in 10 seconds.... Also Udo Kier is not having to work very hard.... except when he gets volleyed in the head. (spoiler).

Any HDTGM Movies that you consider good?
WayneMiller replied to Swarlito's topic in How Did This Get Made?
I'd watched Drive Angry on the back of this Podcast having never seen it, and actually really enjoyed it. -
The soundtrack rocked. Crystal Method playing over the end credits. Loved that. I remember enjoying this movie, in fact, I think I still have the DVD somewhere.... A Hammy Oldman, Starship Captain Joey, the twin pneumatic bosoms of Mimi Rogers and Heather Graham, and William Hurt acting like wallpaper. Both children were irritating, but not as irritating a Blerg, or whatever it was called. The scene with the spiders was pretty damn good. Danger Will Robinson! Arms flailing wildly!

I think you're right, I just remember reacting really quite violently to it. I think I saw Underworld before this.... -

Razor Blade Smile, a low-budget British rip-off of Underworld with more lesbian sex, nudity, gunplay, and a ludicrous ending which is akin to a WWF-style Heel-Turn. Oh, and vampires. It's absolute rubbish. -
In 1945, the Nazis escaped to the moon. Now, they're coming back to conquer the Earth! Barking mad premise, cheesy acting, and the sheer low budget-ness of it all make this a shoe-in for the HDTGM treatment. I'd love to hear their take on this utter gem. I personally love this movie, it's silly, stupid and good fun. Also, they're crowdfunding a sequel. Have at it!

It's as good a reason as any to check it out. Definitely one of Paul WS Anderson's best.... which probably isn't saying much. Better than Alien Vs Predator.
-
I love this movie. Jason Isaacs gets the best line in the movie "it doesn't mean 'save us', it means 'save yourself........ from HELL!'"
-
For a movie which includes a POV from a cats ass, I actually enjoyed it. Nowhere near as good as the first one. You can take two stars off any review just for Rosie O'Donnell

I agree, I also loved The Devils Advocate, terrifically barking mad. Thanks to the podcast I watched Crank 2, and loved it in all it's insane glory, Bai Ling notwithstanding.... I particularly enjoyed Chester from Linkin Park. -
On the Nerdist network, there's James Bonding, which is Matts Mira and Gourely deconstructing the Bond movies.... They're bookending the series, so started with Dr. No, then Skyfall, then they'll eventually meet in the middle (For Your Eyes Only). Currently up to The Man With The Golden Gun. Paul Scheer is a guest on one.

Geri Halliwell - Crank 2 and Spiceworld.

Would be the 2nd entry for Dominic Sena (Season Of The Witch), and yeah, I enjoyed this movie but on a level whereby I have to disengage my brain... Travolta is hammier than a thousand pigs in this movie, and his hair is ridiculous. Huge Action is great though, and we need a whole season of movies in which Vinnie Jones guests.

Which Movies Does HDTGM Absolutely Need To Review?
WayneMiller replied to Blast Hardcheese's topic in How Did This Get Made?
Speaking of Keanu.... Johnny Mnemonic. The movie in which he's cast as a guy with literally an empty head. Not a stretch for him, then.... -
The Hottie & the Nottie (2008)
WayneMiller replied to jarrycanada's topic in Bad Movie Recommendations
I think Paris Hilton's sex tape is better than this movie... -
I humbly submit for your viewing dis-pleasure.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1YnqnAIa5Q0 Razor Blade Smile A steaming pile of low-budget British garbage / goth-boys masturbation fantasy.... I truly hated this film.
-
God-damn, this movie was terrible, one of the only ones, save for The Lost World: Jurassic Park, and Batman & Robin, which made me fly into an apoplectic rage! And they let Zack Snyder rape Superman..... Why?!
