I was flipping through the channels and saw this being aired on SyFy. I had smoked a marijuana cigarette a little bit earlier and was feeling this movie for a minute. When the oxygen ran out and he could breath in the martian atmosphere - it killed my high.

 

Also, Val Kilmer has a face that I want to punch. He was aight in Heat but the god aint really fuckin with his other films.

of all the early 2000's Mars movies (Ghosts of Mars, Mission to Mars) I think Red Planet is my favorite

The film that marked the end of Val Kilmer and Tom Sizemore's mainstream careers, not to mention it was one of the first movies Carrie-Anne Moss followed up "The Matrix" with. It flopped so badly, that it's director (Antony Hoffman) made his debut with it but never worked in Hollywood again.
