SlidePocket 707 Posted February 1, 2017 A movie that should've been. Harrison Ford and Brad Pitt teaming up in a film directed by Alan J. Pakula. But then it missed. Pitt's dodgy Irish accent and a troubled production that saw their stars disliking the final product as well as becoming Pakula's final film before his death in a car accident the very next year. AbeFroman 70 Posted February 2, 2017 Fuck this movie. Avoid at all costs. Â Just a dreadful, boring mess. With Ford and 1997 peak Brad Pitt, you would have expected a dynamic thriller instead of this turd. Â This film convinced me that Pakula was a hack and that All The President's Men was a fluke. Â Also part of a series of flops that almost permanently derailed Pitt's career (the underwhelming Sleepers, the awful Seven Years in Tibet and the shit fest that is Meet Joe Black). He also helmed Klute, The Parallax View, Sophie's Choice, Presumed Innocent and The Pelican Brief. 1 Share this post Link to post
AbeFroman 70 Posted February 2, 2017 Fine. Pakula had his moment in the 70s and early 80s, but Pelican Brief was pretty dreary. Took all the fun out of that novel. And Presumed Innocent was very good, but it's hard to mess up that source material. Share this post Link to post
