he film follows Detective Harry Griswold, a clumsy New York cop investigating a string of murders involving kabuki actors. While attending a Kabuki play, Harry witnesses mobsters gun down the entire cast. In the ensuing gunfight, Harry is forcefully kissed by one of the dying actors, unknowingly becoming blessed with the powers of Kabuki. Before he knows it, Griswold finds out that he has the ability to transform into Kabukiman, a colorfully-dressed slapstick superhero who has the ability to fly and access to such unique weapons as heat seeking chopsticks and fatal sushi. With the assistance of the beautiful Lotus, the two help clean up the crime-ridden streets of New York and try to stop a maniacal businessman and his lackeys who plan to fulfill an ancient evil prophecy that will summon demonic powers and enslave the world.

So yeah, I just watched this movie on EPIX HD, and this deserves a good HDTGM treatment. My God. This movie could hang in the rafters of terrific yet horrible films. It's got the basics of your horrible movie: awkward attempts at intentional humor, unintentional attempts at brilliant humor, bad editing, terrible acting, etc. Then it's got the terrible traits that make it unique: doing cocaine on the top of cars in public, unicycle car chases, kids excited over gunfire, naked women thrown out of windows, and racism toward the entire Asian community. Any movie where a man gets magical Kabuki performer powers from kissing a radioactive Kabuki performer deserves an episode dedicated to it. I highly recommend this movie for the podcast, and I joined the forum just to make this suggestion. Love the show, love Earwolf, but yeah, watch this movie if you haven't. And please consider.

I still think if Troma is HDTGM territory, they should go back to the ultimate classic -- Toxic Avenger. Get Lloyd Kaufman as a guest, he's in San Diego next month for Comic Con, it could happen. I would love to hear everyone's reactions and Lloyd's stories of how he really did get that made! It must have been crazytown.

Agreed. I've been hoping for a Toxic Avenger episode for a while.
