harlows_landing 1 Posted September 12, 2012 Harold Ramis had a pretty good track record before he booked this trip to the fictional Caribbean island of Saint Nicholas: he directed Caddyshack, wrote and starred in Stripes, directed National Lampoon’s Vacation, wrote and starred in Ghostbusters… and then directed this flop. Theoretically a Robin Williams vehicle, with assists from Peter O’Toole, Jimmy Cliff (?!), Twiggy (?!?!), and a host of SCTV alums like Rick Moranis and Eugene Levy, maybe this movie was just a prank to get Warner Brothers to pay for a three-month Jamaican vacation? My (admittedly long-shot) guest recommendation for a podcast featuring this disaster would be Harry Shearer. He supposedly did a re-write on this screenplay but had his name removed from the credits out of embarrassment. Share this post Link to post
CPiz 232 Posted July 23, 2013 Not a great movie, by all means. It's one of those comedy movies that gets serious. Blah. However all the Eugene Levy & Rick Moranis scenes are funny. Share this post Link to post

joel_rosenbaum 1269 Posted July 15, 2017 I feel like Jimmy Cliff was miscast in this movie. Should have gone with Bobby McFerrin. 1 Share this post Link to post

I would also give credit to Andrea Martin who is hilarious in this as well as a great turn by Adolph Caesar. Share this post Link to post
