Zardoz directors commentary

Holy crap, has anyone here ever listened to the directors commentary from "zardoz" if not YOU NEED TO DO THIS IMMEDIATELY. He tried to explain the movie, but at the same time tells amazing stories about how sean connery accidently shot him in the head with a blank when a bullet exploded and when sean connery chased the camera man out of town because he kept destroying the film by accident. Anyways, this is a must see if you've already seen zardoz and want to be even more confused about it or just want to know WTF john boorman was thinking as he made this movie.

I remember Boorman saying in an interview that people often approach him as ask what Zardoz was all about. He replies that he doesn't know, because he was so coked off his tits that he doesn't even remember making it. I expect he got his memory back.

If you buy Zardoz off iTunes (never bought a movie there before) does it come with the director's commentary?

People often cite Sean Connery quitting acting as a sign how bad Extrodinary Gentlemen was so bad. If badness of movies was a readon for quitting, ZARD OZ was a far more compelling argument for his retirement

He says on the commentary that sean connery did zardoz because he couldn't find work after playing bond. He agreed to do this film for basically no pay just to be out there acting again.
